  • If i have an Intel Core i7 920 can i follow the exact same steps but change the Bus Speed so my clock speed is at 3.8 GHz ???

  • i know that increasing the front side bus results in a dynamic overclock. it overclocks the cpu, bus speed and ram speed. ok so i lower the mulitplier on the ram to 1333. on my board there are 4 settings. for 1333 the multiplier is 6.66. for 1600 it is 8. is it possible to type in an exact number in this box? i need something in between, maybe a 7.

  • My BIOS only says Main Advanced Boot and some other stuff but nothing like yours!!Please help!!!

  • is there any motherboards that you have to do overclocking on the motherboard with switches?

  • how much it will be max to my cpu thanks in advance EVGA X58 FTW3 132-GT-E768-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATXd Intel Core i7 975 Extreme Processor - 3.33GHz, LGA 1366 Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Crucial RealSSD C300 - 2.5" 128GB SATA III (SSD) HDD 1.5T|HITACHI HDS723015BLA642 EVGA 01G-P3-1563-A1 GeForce GTX 560 Ti Maximum Graphics Edition Video Card - 1GB SONY Black Blu-ray Burner SATA BWU-500S WIN 7 ULT - 64-BIT 4Gx2|GSKILL F3-12800 ddr3
  • @serkenshin I would imagine you could get something like 4.7 GHz with good cooling and have it be stable. I'm not too experienced at overclocking, but that should be a pretty decent estimate. Search on google or tomshardware with your processors name and you should find some pretty good tutorials.

  • @rahmanroni thanks I appreciated

  • When I bought my pc, I've been very stupid to buy an Acer instead of builing one myself. So that means I don't have MB Intelligent Tweaker of whatever in my BIOS. Is there still a way to get those options in your BIOS. Maybe a BIOS download? Help me please and thanks in advance. BTW great tutorial, it would really help me a lot of I had those overclocking options.

  • @arjennovic u can't overclock this kind of motherboards. Bad luck for you. Try to buy a different MOBO, like ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, compatible with your CPU if u really want OVERCLOCKING your CPU.

  • @oreno11 OK thanks Oreno. I have an i7 860 2.8 GHz, and I'm planning to overclock it to about 4 GHz, using somebody elses settings. But therefore I need a new mobo, and I'm planning to by the Gigabyte P55-UD4. You recommend that one to me? And you could please tell me what would be a sufficient cooling for such an overclock? Thanks in advance again.

  • I have a TwinMOS DDR2 2x2GB setup.. From what I've seen with Speccy, is numbers that go 5-5-5-15, DRAM 400Mhz, Dual Channel etc. What could I take from all of this lol :P! Do I have RAM at 800Mhz each then? If so, then could/should I take it upto 1066/1333Mhz? Please respond :)

  • Wow, Will this make it fast enough for Windows 7?

  • Personally I do not recommend Overclocking.

  • @techdecknoob100 why?

  • @oreno11 That is because overclocking is pushing your PC/Computer to the limit. If you do not have proper cooling, your PC may be in danger. And your mother bord can burn up. Also overclocking is not handy with all PC. Unlike mine.

  • I need some information for my overclocking.

Is there something like a maximum for your CPU voltage, and if there is would it be wrong to go higher then that?

  • @speelman123 You will burn your CPU.

  • in my pc all is locked

  • Can you help me? I got a AMD Sempron 140 2.7GHz with 4GB of ram and it's on a N68c-S UCC mobo, what's the tops I can overclock that to? It's a 45W CPU, I was overclocking it to 3.0GHz then I left it stock

  • my computer is SHIT, it doesnt have tweaking options

  • lol the first time I OC'ed was with the CPU level up function and suddenly my ram was at 1.7 Volt , while 1.65 Volt was the maximum , I instantly lowered it to 1.5 Volt so there's an example that auto overclocking still doesnt work 100% ..

  • @LegionShade

Don't blame overclocking, you're an idiot for leaving the voltage on automatic.

  • hi in my bios it gives me the option add mghz to my cpu but i cant go any higher cos i cant find my vcore in the bios i found all the voltages that it will let you change but none of them are called vcore so dose that mean i cant change the vcore or is it called something else ? PLEASE HELP ME !!

  • AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor and

    MSI 890FXA-GD70 ATX AMD Motherboard.

Can i overclock with this BIOS, and from a rough guess how much? Thx, Vids are good btw, but i need to do a bit of revising on this overcocking business - still not very confident =D

  • i have jumpers on my mb to oc my cpu

  • Can i overclock my dell inspiron 530 slim if not y?

  • is it safe to overclock my laptop's cpu. I'm using core2duo 1.83Ghz

  • i really didn't understand that! Damn!

  • i have 2.66 ghz..i dont have the option to overclock..idk why..i searched everywhere..i just wanted to play burnout paradise..and i cant..i dont have 2.8 :(>..idk what to do..

  • how do you increase your rpm of your cpu cooler??

  • I have a phenom x4 940 3.0 ghz, want to go to 3.4 crosshair ram ddr2 what do I do, or if someone did it already how you did u do it plz rply

  • I love GIGABYTE Motherboards :) <33

  • is there any website where you put in a CPU model, and it checks whats a safe overclock speed??? if not that then graphics card or something

  • guys it's finally on the Market

  • where can I download AMD Overdrive? Does it work btr than BIOS overclocking?

  • I overclocked my CPU,and the temps went down.prime95 is below 60.i have on 3.2 ghz,how high would it go.i have the Scythe mugen 2.

  • And its really hard to cool a core i7 920 at 4Ghz with aircooling. with stock cooler its 88°C and with something real fancy its 65 maybe.

They probably wont need as much cooling as I was thinking before, there will be lower voltages and transistors will be smaller

  • well the Corsair H50 can allow you to have a stable OC of 4+ Ghz, but of course that's not a Air Cooler.

I've heard of the "Tic - Tock Process"

I still believe they can do more than we think.

I know I it was ME that owned Intel, I would NEVER give my customers the best product I had, but I would make them think it was, this is just business.

Insurance that you will have something to offer in 6 months time.

I would never consider running a business based on Hope.

  • If they had any 20Ghz cpu´s it would be leaked already that kind of stuff you cant keep a secret lol

  • it depends how you do it.

personally, I would just say "If ANY of you tell anyone about this, your ALL fired"

then that makes people afraid of talking, and being killed by their co worker, lol

and it makes them afraid of losing their jobs too, they would probably get paid REALLY good too.

I'd only have a few people working on the ones that wont be released for years, because they can take longer to do it.

  • @1981z28camaro is TDR3x2 ram ever going to be on the computer market , form waht i hear it,s faster and more efficent than ddr3

  • I don't know, this is the first time I have heard of "TDR3x2" lol

  • Hahahahaha overclock an xbox, iv never heard tht 1 before lol

  • that would be AWESOME

  • lol, I bet Intel knows how to make like a 20 ghz processor, but hey why not sell some 2.66 ghz cpu's, then sell some more, and some more, and some more, and some more. etc.

  • @1981z28camaro bit like apple ;) I think they are doing the same with the iPods.

  • yeah, more than likely.

I'm pretty sure any company that has smart people working for them, would do that, I would.

  • @

1981z28camaro, Yup, wellllll idk about 20 ghz but I'm sure both intel and amd can both make extremely fast processors but by selling "newer and faster" processors at a gradual rate, the companies can stay in business waaayyy longer.

  • yeah, well maybe 6 ghz, I bet they have the know how to make a processor run with a stock cooler at 6 ghz.

  • Yeah, that sounds a bit more likely.

  • lol, yeah, I think I was just upset at the time when I said 20 ghz, it makes you made after a while when your computer always seems to be crap after a short period of time.

  • haha, oh boy, I've been there. Hey, I have a question. Have you ever overclocked an amd chip? (Preferably a Phenom II)

  • How would you be cooling a 20Ghz cpu exactly? speed of the cpu is not everything

  • I don't know, how will they be cooling 20 Ghz CPU's in the future?

  • First of all there is no way that the development is controlled, there is a real competition between AMD and Intel.

You could use liquid nitrogen to cool them I guess, there are also some other ways

  • lol, so you think like clockwork for the past like 20 years, they come up with a new processor every approx 6 months?

I don't think so, maybe in the beginning it was like that, but by now, we fully understand how they work.

if they were really having genuine breakthroughs, they wouldn't be happening on a consistent basis.

I'm sure they have probably already created the Core i10

but they may as well just lower the speed, and sell some Core i9's, which will happen very soon.

  • and no, in the future 20 ghz processors will be cooled with your stock cooler.

just like people in the past probably said "You'll have to cool 4 ghz processors with Liquid Nitrogen"

and now people are cooling them with a simple high performance fan, and exceeding 4 Ghz.

  • "if they were really having genuine breakthroughs, they wouldn't be happening on a consistent basis."

Of course if there is a breakthrough they will wait for the best time to release it.

And about it all happening on a consistent basis, have you heard of Intel's tick tock.

Where every tick is a shrinking of process technology and tock is new/improved architecture. tick tock lol not sure they follow this exactly though

    AMD does something similar

  • @PCWIZKID

I have 1600 Mushkin Redline at 7-7-7-18 default. I've changed the timings to the default no problem. However my machine will not allow me to run at 1600MHz, only 1333MHz. When I try 1600MHz I get boot failure. Any suggestions?

    Specs: X4 955, UD5P, Mushkin Redline 1600 4GB

  • @BohleyK, you cannot run the memory at 1600 setting its a limitation of the AMD CPU, so instead set it to 1333 and increase the North bridge frequency to like 2200Mhz+ and that will increase your memorys performance.

  • Well, I guess that would explain things. Thanks for the info! =)

  • @PCWizKid But if you had 1333 mhz ram and oced it to 1600 would it work?

  • @PCWizKid how do u increase your memory through north bridge. Im new at this so explain little more careful thnx

  • @PCWizKid i have no MIT

  • However some programs show extreme performance gains... Ok, not enough 4 gaming and thats what i do :)

  • LOL nice, do you have a ECS motherboard? coz the BIOS looks like my lil bro's ECS X48T-A one :) i dont know why ppl says a extremely OC'ed i5 is more powerful that a i7. I saw many tests of i5-750 procs OC'ed to 4GHz+ that gives same to 3% more than my 1 year old i7-920 @ stock clock. I slightly OC'ed mine coz its summer, and its harsh here in Brazil, when winter comes again i put @ 3.33GHz again... (stupid air-cooling)

  • so an i5 on 2.9 GHz is better than a i7 on 2.6 Ghz?

  • i5 overcloking to 4 Ghz!!!! wow, even i7 is like at 3.3Ghz

P.S. did you actually draw that simpsons character by yourself? 'cause it looks great

  • I managed to overclock my AMD Athlon (tm) X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ from 2.3ghz to 2.5ghz and it's stable with low temps. I overclocked my ram from 660 to 880. I also overclocked my GeForce 8600 GT+ from 540 Core Clock to 590 and my Memory Clock from 700 to 820. All stable with low temps. Thanks for the videos.

  • ok guys so.. i have kind of a problem.

i got a pc for cristmas last year and it's not a self configured pc.

here's my prob. the brand of my pc is Packer Bell they dicided it was fun to partialy lockdown the bios so i can't overclock the system. now i want to buy a diffrent motherboard in the hope that i can overclock my pc with a outher mother board in my pc.

but i heard that my copy of windows wont work any longer.... so help..? reply or leave a comment at my page

  • No, your right, if you have an OEM copy of windows, unfortunatly, I dont think it will work anymore. Hint: Packard Bell = rubbish!

  • so i can put a outher motherboad in my pc but then i also have to buy a new copy of windows..?

hmm.. good excuse to buy windows 7 anyway:)

  • You are so helpful to us and always will be,you saves my system.thank you

  • i luv this dude......he just knows everythin....danmmmmmm good fuckin video0o man ..............

  • Another Good video! Keep em coming! 5/5

  • u got a old cpu i got a nicer 1 lol

  • Wow im never gona know how to OC I keep losing focus on the vid and gettin lost :S

  • @dino88cro take it easy, more videos to come.

  • @pcwizkid can i over clock my laptop ram with out going 2 overheat it and if not i dont care my 3gb ram feels more like 1gb lol

  • yea ok thank you im just afraid i dont screw something up, also i will be buying a quad core and i dont know what to get (I cant spend much money on it dough)

  • And what is memory timing ?? I appreciate it if u explain it as simple as possible..

  • PcWiz.. When I overclock CPU, do we need to overclock RAM, loosen timing or increase ram voltage to stabilized whole computer?

  • @N00bGeek95 concentrate on the CPU Bus Speed and Multiplier first, forget the memory, leave that on auto at the beginning, I'll explain the strategy in the next Overclocking video

  • Did you not know that 1.65 is the recamended max yoltage for ram on the i5 and i7?

  • @BSZanatsu no thats not true, the ram voltage does not affect your CPU. it affects your RAM. Its always recommended not to exceed the default voltage, but it doesnt mean you cant.

  • I thought the reason it was recamended was because the ram controler was on the same die and the CPU? Also that going to far over that limit could damage the CPU and not just the controler.

I am not trying to put you or your video down. Just asking questions. I will refer to this vid if I ever deside to over clock my i5.

I am loving my i5. Got low voltage ram for it. At stock my mobo defalted teh cpu to 1.08 volts but I have been able to get it down to .968 volts 100% stable.

  • Add on.

I am terifide of over heating (stock cooler) so I lowered it and did a lot of testing. My ram is 7,7,7,21 and I got it to 1333 within the 1.65 limit. But that is posible because it is high quality low votage ram.

  • @BSZanatsu If your ram is rated at 1.6 volts then you should try to stay within that, dont worry about the CPU, if the CPU is stable, then its just a matter of making the RAM stable with the system with small incremental changes.

  • @pcwizkid any way 2 overclock microsoft xbox 360

  • @secretbadger2 what r u crazy you cant overclock x box 360! there is no way on doing it. the x box is fine on its original clock and compatible on all games!

  • nice

  • Wow you got a CPU from Intel!

Awesome review, I've started OC'ing my CPU, but it seems my CPU, according to IntelBurnTest, is unstable at stock.

  • i have over clocked my athlon 64 3000+ 1.30 ghz tooo 2.40 ghz !!! tems at idle 35c! cant overclock her anymore due to ram voltage :( cant lock it..o well

  • my athlon x2 cant even overclock past 5%. It sucks...

  • Nice video.

  • can you please put the links in to the less info !! next time if you can !!

  • @musa0217 Done, click on the more info for the links as seen in the video.

  • sorry i didnt see it

  • Memory voltage at 1.835? Quite alot higher than the recommended, which is 1.65 I think? Nice OC-tips again from PcWizKid :)

  • @videosurfer69 Every memory kit is different, some have less voltage, the one I used is 1.8v default.

  • Can I Overclock My Dell Dimension 4700 P4 3.0 With HT Technology...

  • @browntechguys probably not because it's a dell wich are usually not meant to be overclocked. If you want to overclock I really recommend building your own pc

  • Ohh Ic...Thx For the Reply...I Appreciate it

  • i have an old asus p5q turbo, is that good for overclocking?

  • @spedknot If there's a setting in the bios, then yes it is.

  • @speedking92 thanks for the reply, well i looked over my box, it list that its great for over clocking. but i have a dual core in it, when it supports up to core 2 quads. would it be smart to OC?

  • sure no problem. Just give it a shot ;)

  • thanks

  • Can you make a video showing how to overclock using jumpers?

  • aren't jumpers like so 10 years ago?

  • Maybe some people have older mobos, deal with it

  • Hey PCWizKid, what motherboard are you using for your Core i5? I have a Core i7 860 which is also LGA 1156. Very interested in the motherboard you are using for your Core i5.

  • Can I overclock mine AMD Sempron 3400+ 2ghz?

  • yes, but it is more dependent on your motherboard rather than the cpu, and how much will be restricted by your memory

  • can you make a video of the i5 vs i7? thanks

  • are you going to be doing a review on the i5?

  • @NuMb3r1PuNjAbI94 , yes, coming up.

  • cool

  • can u making video of overclocking i7 920 ?? :)

  • yes lol, im having problems with oc-ing my i7, , what vcore volts do u have

  • at 3.8GHz volts are 2.38 i think xD

  • no.. very wrong. it would be wayyy over at 2.3

  • He must be cooking a dinner at those volts

  • 2.38 vcore ?, , are you cooking a dinner on your i7 ?

  • wops! i mean 1.38 xD srry xDlol

  • Cool!

  • hey pizi blah blah lol your so funny when you start your vid :) lol

  • nice

  • My teacher teached me what BIOS was yesterday lol.

  • Nice, Tho not processed yet

  • Nice :)

  • cool
