Such a good video; where to start? I don't think I would appreciate this if I hadn't played the Half-Life series... The audio and video are like peanutbutter and jelly; they go so well together and invoke such emotions... Even at 2:55, when the music turns to a happier tone, it's still bittersweet. Bittersweet, but hopeful. The saddest part, for me, is watching the transformation the two people at 1:14 go through. Normal civilians to rebels until finally, the sweet release of death.

I only have one thing to say. When the npc_male rebel comes up near the end you can still hear the background music from the game. What you could of done was maybe mute that sound clip, then grab the sound file of the character saying that line, then sync it up as best as possible.

I enjoyed this a good deal... though I feel as though it kind of crumbled under the weight of its own aspirations. The first half or so fell under the same spell that AMVs tend to. It took the song's narrative/lyrics and portrayed them with literal examples. The result is something kinda cheesy/try hard. The latter half of the video was much better, but I do feel as though Godspeed's themes don't exactly fit parallel with HL2. They're similar yeah, but different enough to feel awkward. 1/2

Godspeed's portrayal of the world is pretty much a depiction of a hopeless and dreary apocalypse. While HL2's world is fairly dreary and apocalyptic, there's a rather large glimmer of hope in it. Gordon Freeman. Godspeed's depiction of the world is without any hope, any relief, etc. It just doesn't make sense to parallel that with HL2's hopeful uprising... because we all know deep down, that Gordon is probably going to save the world.

@GruntyStudios Valve became way so lazy since 2007. People kinda felt disappointed with the Half Life series. Being one of the best series in history, fans pressuring to continue it, Valve distracted us with different games. They're all good, but nothing compares to Half Life (regarding company's titles) and yet they say nothing. What I like about this clip and song, besides being an epic tribute, is like saying farewell to an amazing series. Shame on you Valve!!!!!
