Geeze, how could I go this long, claiming to know good music, and not have heard anything from Ninja Tune until now? Tight tunes. I read an interview Professor Kliq did and said Ninja Tune was heavily influential to him and his style. I can definitely hear it. Do check up on him and his work if you haven't already. Good music is so hard to come by these days ^o^
@BrokenHorn90 Man.. If there's anything I've learned about great music over the years, it's that there's always plenty more out there. Even once you've whittled your way through 50+ of your favourite labels' 300-3000 track catalogues, you'll stop by a record shop on your way to visit a friend, and sitting just half a foot from the first vinyl of the new arrivals section is a piece of work maybe 25 or so people didn't look at twice which'll absolutely melt your brain :P. Happens all the time
Well, the first sample is from Funki Porchini's LP 'Hed Phone Sex' I got the vinyl - the only way to listen to music IMO of course, but you younguns are digital now. If ytou ain't got it then go out n get it. A real treat in store for you.
When i was 16 i was at this real funny recording studio, neway... we found a Kid Koala cassette from 1996 which is a real rare demo for promo use only or something i said i dunno,,, neway, that got me into Ninja Tunes... and yeah xD
@texmexlove The first two are from the first Ninja compilation. Its got a daft name... "Scratchmalogical Waxploitation" or something like that. Hope this helps.
Hey eclecteric, is "Future music" the name of the first track, or it's the name of the whole mix? And if so, can you point out which artist produced the track/mixed them? Thanks a lot.
The first track is Dark Blood by DJ Food. There are a few mixes. You'll find it on Ninja Cuts Vol 1 (Funkjazztickle Tricknology) and the Dj food album (parts 5 &6 I think,...grey sleeve with back and green writing). Came out around 1995
This mix was handed out with DJ Mag back in 95, think it was like CD02 or somthing. It also had a cool Tribal mix by Danny Tenaglia. "love to do it..."
Was my introduction to Ninja Tune and been following ever since :)
