  • Everyone misses an important first step (Important when there is wind - which is why you capsize for real!):

Once you're in the water, start by holding the bow line (painter) and your body will act like a sea anchor and get the bow pointed into the wind for you (instead of swimming it around by the dagger board). On a bigger boat in heavy air & rough seas, it's sometimes the only way that reliably works.

Let the wind do the work for you.

  • They really are fantastic little sail-boat's, however they can be a little awkward with more than 1 person, not much room really.

  • A Sunfish is about 14ft long, weighs 120 pounds. There are thousands of them out there. We bought both of ours for $400 and $300. In fact, the trailer that I bought to haul them and my Hobie cat cost more than either of the Sunfish. The boat is perfect for learning how to sail and there are many clubs across the world that use these boats for regattas.

  • how long is that sunfish and how much does it weigh? thanks

    paul

  • how fast do they go?

  • @MrSurferdude13 depends on the wind but they can go fast enough to make wake

  • Sail is mounted on wrong side of mast. Should be on port side.

  • Wooo
