this would be the ideal option for me, because i can't lift my left foot to change the gear up, because i don't have nearly as many tendons in my left leg as a normal person would have, so it is probaly good for the people who have a problem with their leg, it would be the perfect choice.
The Honda clutch looks like lots of fun. Might give an edge when racing someone. I saw a guy once on the Yamaha FR1300AE automatic clutch and his front wheel was in a rut. He couldn't get a balance between a little throttle and full blast. He almost killed himself trying to feather the throttle so he could climb out. Working the clutch is 'second nature' to me but I'm open minded and give anything a go (as long as it's cheap to repair).
First idiot lights for low fuel, then fuel gauges now this. And yes I have ridden in stop and go traffic for five years. I like to do my own shifting, I like to rev match both on the way up the gears as well as down, I like to transbrake, I like to control my mount. At least I know not to shift at 4k when I have an indicated 10k rev range. All this car tech showing up on bikes is only making me miss my FZR600 all the more.
lol progress eh. Taking the fun n skill out of riding. My mates don't bother with the clutch on upshift anyway. Bet you can't wait for 2 wheel drive aswell eh? ;o)
100% agree. The joy in motorcycling comes in part from the ability to control your bike properly. I wonder how well this will sell? Poorly I hope. Maybe Honda has misjudged what a real motorcyclist is. This tech. would be okay I guess on one of those POS's that look like a Harley, but not a sports bike. Note to Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki - DON'T DO IT!
All squids should learn to ride before they judge someone who knows how to use a clutch. That includes you. If you are too lazy to squeeze a clutch lever and match your throttle and transmission to your corner speed, than DON'T GET ON A BIKE. You just make real riders look bad. How did you put it? Oh yeah, "you fucking retard."
That last comment was for RastusFuckhai. He just approached me wrong. Seriously if you have your face in the wind I have respect for you even if you are on an automatic cruiser. Just don't call me a ****ing retard because I know how to use my sport bikes clutch.

automatic seems a bit boring

And before you bag the Auto Trans, you may want to consider that it may let some disabled or injured riders back on a bike again.
Riders that can't operate a manual currently because of result of injury. It opens up riding for them again.
That's if your egos can let them share the road with all your 'skill'.

It's a great idea.
It's only a matter of time before it is adopted for racing bikes.

There are 2 different bikes in this clip.
-VFR1200 with ususal manual transmission
-VFR1200 with DCT(MT/AT)
Looks to me like Honda's gonna make 2 versions of VFR1200.

So this means that skills that are learned in using MT would be forgotten if new riders were to use this motorbike.

that would be cool at the track on my 09 R1
i wonder if this will set the standard for the quick-shifter "kit" of the future
