We are not "turning" away from any abyss. We are hell bent on plunging into one, with NO possibility of stopping ourselves. That is the cold hard reality. Before this century is out, there will be few humans remaining. Those that remain may not be the most"spiritual" but instead the exact opposite.
I'd really like to use this as an addition to an Awakening the Dreamer symposium I'm developing. I've tried the usual download method and found it didn't work. Any suggestions would be welcome.
So why don't you New Agers set up your own society in a remote area and prove to the rest of us how great your new way is! Oh, you want to destroy or interupt the present one to impose your own disproven hippy dreams. LoL! Come on, but a small island somewhere and show us! Convince me!
@wolfgang0070 I don't know what evidence you are dreaming up? Live everywhere is in steep decline because of the consequences of " industrial growth society" and it's resultant over population.
Interesting, Indigenous Elders have long foretold of this in prophecies - how the newcomers would almost destroy our world and that a time of "great change" or a "great turning" would occur. Our Elders and people have long advocated for our World, advocating for our relations; both 2 and 4 leggeds. Too bad our relationships with advocators were not cohesive or more collaborative between Indigenous and Westerners; we need to collaborate to create stronger voices.
Interesting: Native people have long been talking about this for decades. They have talked about and predicted that the direction of the newcomers would lead us into hard times - the Elders have advocated about the need to be mindful of our Land and to remember we have a natural way of being. The Elders have long called this "the time of great change" or "Great Turning". Too bad we don't have a more cohesive/collaborative working relationship between concerned Westerners and my people.
I really like the transition movement but I HATE how A-political it claims to be. Why replace the word capitalism with 'industrial growth society'? Call it what it is and what everyone else calls it ffs - you can claim to be non-political all you want but it's pissing in the wind when you're calling for a revolution. An entire movement of eco-marxism that claims it isn't is just silly and it means that this movement and the socialist movement ignore each other - better together. Always.

Whoa- those initial time frames Joanna mentions are much too brief. Mankind's agricultural revolution took MILLENIUM (not centuries) & the Industrial revolution began ~200 years ago (NOT as she says 20!). Such initial blunders weaken her subsequent views...

My "accent" mistake-she apparently does say 200! However the centuries/Millenium mistake still stands.

Listen carefully. She does say 200, not 20.

Listen carefully. She does say 200, not 20. Also, a millennium is 10 centuries, so I think you're splitting hairs.

This information is so crucial everybody should see this and work to make this turning happen.
