I love this theory! I have got to say I'm quite surprised though how many people here are so quick to dismiss it just like most people dismiss us, when we talk about a coming collapse to ignorant people who haven't done any research into the subject. We should be the ones to know better. Greenspan being a good guy is mind-blowing to me but I can at least see the possibility now. I love this theory! I have got to say I'm quite surprised though how many people here are so quick to dismiss it just like most people dismiss us, when we talk about a coming collapse to ignorant people who haven't done any research into the subject. We should be the ones to know better. Greenspan being a good guy is mind-blowing to me but I can at least see the possibility now. Interesting theory...worth a deeper look. However, I must point out that it is human nature for those in power to want more power. Any "knight in shining armor" is suspect in my view, precisely because for Mr Weir's theory to hold water, (t)he(y) would be bucking the trends of history, and the examples set by other powerful, secretive people and organizations.
I believe that in the end, if "we the people" want Liberty, it's going to cost blood in a protracted guerrilla engagement.

Oh Lord - Alan Greenspan a hero. Come on! The man is an out and out crook! And the FED IS as bad as everyone thinks. It is a private bank administered by a cabal of power-hungry bureaucrats. I agree with the aside to Kennedy and order 11110, but I find it bizarre that someone could think of Greenspan as in any sense a hero in the pursuit of liberty. Reasoned argument and analysis is all I care about. I find much of Bix's theory to be rather threadbare and speculative. Not my scene.

Bixs' theory would explain how Greenspan went from pro-gold standard (in his1966 paper) to where he is today. But I think the bad guys are already in place in all media, banking, DHS, and the numerous federal agencies.They are also interational (IMF, Trilateral commission, Bilderberg). Where are the good guys? I think most Americans are indifferent, they don't believe any of this, and are too lazy to investigate. B.Weir seems to down-play the whole "defaulting" of our financial obligations. He seems to think that the other 95% of the world population is going to be okay with the fact that they are not going to get paid back what they lent the US government. Greenspan laid out enough rope to let international bankers hang themselves not to protect good people. I am having trouble with Greenspan as a good guy. He was one of a gang of four who told Brooksley Born that she was not allowed to regulate Credit Default Swaps. The others at that meeting were Robert Rubin, Larry Summers and Arthur Levitt.

But in the interest of fairness, you ought to read Bix's Road to Roota theory and his detailed analysis of the Fed issued children's comic book 'Wishes and Rainbows' before passing such harsh judgment on the man. Open your mind just a crack. Because it's clearly closed if you're playing the ufo card. And that's fine, it's just not very fair.

Interesting discussion. I wish I had a good reason to believe the country could be saved. IMHO, the best we can hope for might be what Dimitry Orlov and an another Russian describes as a break up ala' U.S.S.R. Of course it would be more painful than that, and rather messy... Choose your location wisely. I'm headed outta of the country.

This is ( was) the last bastion of freedom ( Reagan said this), unless you mean "Moving to the country and getting off the centralized grid", I don't know what country isn't in tatters, full of terrorists, uprisings, or is not a socialist country in some fashion.

@savgal1211 The answer of where to go is different for different folk. Ideally a small town with a population of 500 or less, somewhere in the NW, and at least one gas tank away from a major city would be a good start, yet we must make compromises. I can't make any recommendations beyond that. In my foreign country of choice, I will be very off the grid, but my reasons for the choice are faith based. Remember tho, where ever you go, there you are :O)
