the story behind Montross and Jaster is that Montross had wanted to be leader so he leads Jaster into a trap and kills him hoping he will be put in charge but instead jango sees Jaster and Jaster makes Jango the leader which anger Montross so he leave and becomes a bounty hunter and seeks revenge on Jango
Some chaps from the 501st Legion was there today, 1 Darth Vader, 2 Imperial Stormtroopers, and strangely 1 guy was dressed up as a Scout Trooper, but his whole suit was black. Is there a black Scout Trooper in some sort of Star Wars continuty ?.

Jaster Mereel was killed at the hands of Visla in the comic. Montross met his demise at the hands of Jango Fett on the moon of Bogdon while on the hunt for Komari Vosa in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Both hunters were on the hunt for Vosa which was set up by Count Dooku to choose a template for the Clone Arny. So if Montross won the fight, we would have had a very different clone army

If you ever get a chance pick it up and it will tell you the back story about him before the Clone Wars ever came out.They have it on eBay search for-Star Wars Boba Fett official magazine.
Hello I just want to make a comment about these characters as some people have posted that Montross is a character from the Bounty Hunter game I owned a book back in the 90's and it was all about Boba Fett and the back story about him is that his name was Jaster Mereel before the movie attack of the clones ever came out and was never a clone of Jango Fett he was his own individual person but George Lucas changed it I guess.I no longer own that magazine I wish I did so I could give you more info
Jaster mereel was the mentor of jango fett leader of the new mandalorians who fought against the death watch in the mandalorian civil war and was killed by montross I believe who (montross) is a traitor. Jaster mereel rules!!!
montross was jango's arch enemy. Montross betrayed jango, jaster mereel, and the rest of the mandolorian warriors and i believe that was when the jedi were killing the mandolorian warrors. Montross killed jaster mereel and got his revenge on THE MOON OF BOGDEN. Jango's parents were killed and jaster took jango as his son just as jango would with boba because it was mandolorian tradition for a father to train the son.
Jaster was Jangos mentor and montross later betrays Jaster and after that when montross was banished he became a bounty hunter. So montross and jango became rivals and later jango gets his revenge and kills montross during the hunt for vosa

That game was actually very good and the story line was really great and it explained how he got the slave 1 as his ship and Montross, Vosa, Wesell as well as Dooku were all in it. My favorite part of the game was just wandering around Coruscant. I would love to play it again and go through the story once more.
