Fire extinguishers (some) have CO2 which is Carbon Dioxide. Where did CO (Carbon Monoxide) come into this argument?

All combustion engines require oxygen...if you flood the cylinders with carbon dioxide, then in theory the cylinder wont fire, but unless they have a mini tanker of the stuff, the inertia of the car will keep it rolling until the cops ran out. And besides, who would just sit there and let it be done. Also...they have EMP devices that kill the engine management computer.

@firstmonopolopolis I guess they'd have to literally fill the engine are with CO2. By spraying some gas at the engine they don't accomplish anything. Lots of gas will disperse quickly and the engine air intake would also suck in lots of air along with the CO2 ... I guess it would be easier to fire some rocket which would cause small explosion under the hood just to rip some of the wires and pipes apart.

i dont know what is more retarded, the fact that they called it a CO2 cop car when carbon monoxide is CO1 or just CO. or the fact that they think a guy running from the cops is gonna stay still let the fucking cop car spray that shit from 2 feet away for 30sec until his car stops... and also it looked like it didnt even work. not to mention its a bad idea to be spraying poisoness gas around a street to try to stop one fucking car. everyone at smashlab should kill themself

soo true but its just test, and they probably will figure out a more reliable and efficiant way like releasing a sticky camera that hits the front grill, but its not a camera actually its just filled with CO and they and press a button and it will release the air . this is just a first experiment to see if it will work not nessessarly how its gonna look like.

@iwan0t0smith CO2 is a poison. It will suffocate you. Anything that chemically inhibits your system or directly affects your system is a poison. CO is a more direct poison as it enters the blood stream.

CO2 isn't a tragic byproduct of metabolism however as many biological systems use CO2 to develop sugars or food and keep carbon products within a cycle.

When you hear of climate change, think of a glut of carbon based chemicals in a system and that system can't cope with it. Read about it too.

@LOLDISNEYLAND You can still breathe in a large amount of co2 without being poisoned. It's used in fire extinguishers. It's fairly harmless.

@unclepoepoe Not necessarily. I do agree with you, but if implemented a certain way.. once disabled, they could keep a stream of CO2 on the car even easier to KEEP it off and allow it to be boxed in, halting the chase.
