The failure of the big lending agencies is due to the social engineering attempts of democrats and efforts of community organizers like Obama who did a large portion of his "organizing" for ACORN. Because of groups like ACORN, banks were forced to make bad loans which were in turn bought by Freddie and Fannie.
The failure of the big lending agencies (half of whom are not banks so, by law, were not obligated to implementing the CRA policies that you speak of but they still went bust so that deposes that theory) is that they started handing out home loans in the 2000s they way they started handing out credit cards to 18 year-old college students in the 90's. Wantonly and knowing full well that certain people would default. AND we all saw how responsible 18 year olds were w/ credit cards.
They didn't care that they were jacking up home prices to unsustainable levels of profit. They don't pay the principle on a home. They earn wealth from the interest rates. Even when you jack down interest rates, lenders make more when the cost of the principle is jacked up. The arbitrary rises in home costs that got people (mostly Middle Class) looking at homes as a short-term, instead of long-term investment, is what led to the collapse. But if blaming poor people makes you happy, go ahead.
As mentioned before, Fannie and Freddie bought loans from banks that were forced to make bad loans. Whether they knowingly bought "bad loans" or not is unclear. What is clearis that the CEO of Fannie Mae Franklin D. Raines "cooked" the books to realize a larger bonus, to the tune of 90 million dollars over 6 yrs. He should be held accountable not the taxpayers. Instead Obama seeks advice from Raines according to the Washington Post July 16 Issue. Why? Obama recieved million from Fannie Mae.
The good news for you is that I was first able to vote during the election when Bush "won" the election. I voted Gore then and then Kerry next. So my short voting career is nothing but being on the wrong end. The stats are definitely not on my side. And I do think VP will end up making a difference. I think Cheney crushing Edwards, as much as I hate Cheney for all the evil that he is, was a real reverse step for that campaign, although Kerry had enough faults of his own as well.

When people are leveraged that much, one change (say gas prices going up 2-3xs more than normal) can take all other expenses down with it. They didn't care that they were jacking up home prices to unsustainable levels of profit. They don't pay the principle on a home. They earn wealth from the interest rates. Even when you jack down interest rates, lenders make more when the cost of the principle is jacked up. The arbitrary rises in home costs that got people (mostly Middle Class) looking at homes as a short-term, instead of long-term investment, is what led to the collapse. But if blaming poor people makes you happy, go ahead.

The good news for you is that I was first able to vote during the election when Bush "won" the election. I voted Gore then and then Kerry next. Empty logic is to isolate Freddie and Fannie Mac and disregard major contributing factors to the American form of Capitalism over the last 2 decades that has led to this crisis. On onhand, companies have been deregulated and allow to over-merge to the point where it becomes nearly impossible to keep track of their real wealth because there are too many places to hide losses. Another is that REAL income for the average American goes down which leads to higher rates of personal debt.

Currently Bob Barr is on the ballet in 42 states and in 2 has him at 14%. But in general he has 4% support nation wide. Now Ron Paul is his biggest problem. He is on the ballet in 43 states and has beaten McCain in some of the GOP primaries. Both will take GOP votes from McCain. There is no liberal 3 party problem for Obama so he will not face the same vote drain.

Ok put down the crack pipe. You must be getting your poll number or maybe not numbers, but roomer-news from a conservative news source. The fact is McCain is currently 45% to Obama's 44%.
Since you seem to have better info than the rest of us who read polls and news. Could you please provide your source for this information. I would love to see it.

Oh you should know that it was put to paper on 9/20/02 in a national security document titled "National Security Strategy of the United States".

If this woman was smart enough, she would have known what the Bush Doctrine was, and if the Bush Doctrine was just various points she should have been able to discern that with a confident answer...she failed...she had to have the question...a trick question explained to her...

She wasn't prepared and didn't know the issues. Let's be hones here. How many of us knew of this woman before her selection? Is she really ready for the national stage? If something were to happen to President, is she ready to lead? I don't think so. I'm one who defends this country and I really wouldn't want her telling me where and when to go somewhere.

Because she was PADDING her answers trying to run the clock down. Her responses were cut in all parts and basically when they were done editing out the padding they wound up this.
Padding...padding is also good when you want to pad your resume, pad your credentials IE: a custodial engineer: JANITOR.
Padding happens when you are scared, insecure or don't know shit - in other circles it's called rambling, yammering, etc.

I have more people in my borough than all of Alaska and absolutely more diversity. What does she know about world politics? Nada, zilch, zero. Her selection was a gimmick to reach out to the female Clinton supporters. As to what Warmagus said about operating large organizations; they consisted of a larger and more diverse population than what Palin has governed.

Ok Obama had been giving to communities since he was 17 y.o. You have heard the line about him being a "Community organizer" What they failed to state was he was in charge of many community action projects and had to operate within a budget while being in charge of 700 paid and volunteer workers. All of this after graduating at the top of his class from law school. The guy could have taken a Wall street job but he wanted to help people. What has McCain done to help anyone but himself. NOTHING!!

The Bush Doctrine? There is no chapter in history books entitled "The Bush Doctrine". A doctrine is an entire set of views that is as varied as the sand of the seashore. How could she ascribe to every aspect of his doctrine. That is why she asked him to what specifically he referred. She is not dumb enough to paint herself with that broad a brush. Her retort was very calculated and intelligent.

What did he organize? the gangs? the mob? Obama can only say change, not what and how because he will be nailed down on the particulars, because he just gives promises to get elected.
