This horse is phenomenal!! Must have a 25 ft stride at least! Won tickets to the Derby and was hoping to see him run but not in the cards, I guess. Here's to a great comeback 3 year old season. Good luck this weekend in the Kelso!!
I still believe that Stay Thirsty would've placed much higher if he hadn't come across so much traffic mid-stretch. I'm just glad he got to show his true colors in the Jim Dandy! I'm a huge fan of ALL Repole horses, but these two are easily my favorites :)
There are so many things I could say about Uncle Mo, he is absolutely spectacular. To bad he didn't race in the triple crown, he had a good chance to win all three.
@Moose225777 agreed if he pulls an inside gate no horse will test him maybe soldat. But than again "M3" Mucho macho man ran a good L.A. Derby without a shoe. Just remember its The Derby and 20 hauses is whole lot of haus
Is it just me or did this horse gallop out really solid as well. Hopefully the way Mo continued to look ready to go well after the line is a good indication of his ability to handle the TC distances.
Uncle Mo does have the breeding to run 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 ! His grandfather on his mama's side is Arch. Arch sired Blame. Blame beat Zenyatta. Arch has Alydar,
Danzig, Hail to Reason and Northern Dancer DNA in his line! Uncle Mo looks like a large Northern Dancer!
Uncle Mo's surely got the kind of talent it takes in a colt to win the Triple Crown. You just don't destroy fields on the dirt the way Uncle Mo has done and not be talented. That said, the one thing about Uncle Mo that really concerns me is his pedigree. His sire, Indian Charlie, has sired some really good sprinters and milers over the years. But hasn't produced very many good middle distance stars. Can't help wondering if Uncle Mo's gonna have distance limitations because of that?
@italianbro1234 True, but I doubt he'll get away with the rail this time- i think the other jocks have learned. But then again... it IS Calvin we're talking about :)
I am still gonna back Rogue Romance. Coming from the turf, and looked a little green on the dirt that day. He will relish a longer distance, and maybe his next start on dirt in the Risen Star will help kick start his 3 yr old campaign. Santiva, and Uncle mo are my top 3(even though there are probably more popular picks then my first 2)
Lately the 2 year old stars have been doing well as 3 year olds. Street Sense a few years back won the Derby. And last year Lookin' at Lucky, although he didn't win the Derby, won the Preakness. Maybe it's the way the horses are babied nowadays. Uncle Mo will only run twice until the Run for the Roses. I don't know. Only time will tell.
its going to be hard to beat this horse. looks like he can go 2 miles with that stride. too bad its a pletcher horse. i cant stand that arrogant douchebag. he has so many good animals he seems to be in the mix at every track. took him forever to get that derby win!
I love uncle mo I wanted to run in the derby. Uncle mo just isn't the best horse and you can tell when he ran in the classic.

@wranglerluv Thankfully he's not retired. He's going to be making his comeback this late summer/fall.

Can't believe the gastrointestinal infection. <.<
I was really hoping he'd have a sweep at the Triple Crown.
Eh, that's racing for ya.
Best I can hope for is a great comeback.

Man, he sure made that look easy. It looked like he had a lot left in him at the end there. Forget the Derby- Triple Crown contender is more like it.

Let's see how he does with an extra 3/16 in the Derby, The Factor pressuring him early, and Dialed In flying down the lane.

Hope he can go the distance the first Saturday in May. My money's on Uncle Mo.

I wouldn't count on it. Usually these 2yo "stars" peter out when 3.
I hope not. I was very impressed by Uncle Mo. Although, the name could be better!
