  • i was wondering if I could get some clarification on something.

On scoobies site it talks about goals and for muscle mass the method is bodybuilding. What is "bodybuilding"? I thought it was all bodybuilding!

    any clarification?

  • SCOOBY thanks man i learn alot from all you videos!!!

n ur a funny guy to thankx

  • Dude, your time to make these videos, is appreciated by far far more folks than you realise. Thanks again for your effort in doing this, it is appreciated big time in New Zealand! Keep it up!

  • Thanks Scooby! I'm going to try those when I go to the gym next time, or whenever I get a chance to work out!

  • 0:41 small head?!?! ROFL I love Scooby because he's able to laugh at himself. A self depreciating sense of humor isn't to common amongst bodybuilders.

Hey guys check out the "more info" box. Is that a new Scoobysworkshop forum?!?!

  • rofl i know i like the way he brings humor to exercise, makes it funner :)

  • Scooby is THE BEST!

  • I am a huge fan of scooby. I think he is such a great and funny guy and I have learned so much from him and knowledge is everything especially when it comes to your own body. So these video's help a lot! Thanks scooby for your dedication!

  • Dear Scooby,

I workout since my 15th (now 19). Not always weight lifting, but most of the time. The problem is that i really dont have the genetics for gaining mass...so now i do have definition, and people are surprised by the strength i produce in the gym. The heavier i lift(I DO lift more and more over the months),the more definition i get. I tried weight gainershakes, but still only gained about 2kg,any advice how to gainmass, it doesnt have to be dry mass per se.Thanks in advance.Aram

  • you tryed creatine? i normally put quite abit of weight on with that. only problem is it mostly water id just eat alot more carbs in your meals i was the same about that age im 21 now it easier to gain weight has you get older i think..

  • Hi, I gained big mass with the palm diet - 10 kg +. Piece of meat size of your palm (mostly grilled pork or chicken), not inc fingers, and another amount of carb size of your other palm, - veg carrots taters etc, twice a day, just boiled or steamed. Took Whey powder three small spoons after a workout (3-4 a week). Breakfast was whole milk and muesli and a banana. Everyone's different, but if your at the stage where the body fat is being replaced by muscle that may explain the slow mass gain.

  • Dear Scooby,

  • hey, everyone, if u have any questions, email scooby by his youtube account, or go to his website to contact him.

  • hey scooby, i have a problem when i do this workout. it seems like my arms start shaking much before my triceps burn whatsoever. i have lowered the weight but then i can do way to many reps until i burn (like 30 reps) i have no idea why i cant do this excercise ive been lifting for a year

  • it is a hard exercise, i guess you just need to fit the weight, you've had to much and you've had to little. you need to your weight is guess.

if that is not the problem, you should rather just practice it.

  • Try doing a different triceps workout before the skullcrushers.

Btw nice vid, I love skullcrushers, me and some friends used to have a superset that ripped our triceps. It was skullcrushers, then very close grip bench, and some other triceps thing (can't remember the name). We did each step x10 then did the whole set a few times at the end of the workout. My triceps at least doubled in size over a few months.

  • you showed us before

  • Scooby im going to start lifting dumbells next sunday.

What are some exercises i could do?

Also i heard lifting weights could stop your growth,

Does that happen to everybody ?

  • no, its a mith, weights do NOT stunt your growth

  • It's only a half truth. Weight lifting can stunt your growth, IF you use an unsafe amount of weight. Doing too much weight can damage your growth plates at the end of your bones. So the key is starting small and working your way up and you'll be fine.

  • wow didnt know that, thanks for the information

  • hey ..

subscribe to scooby's videos and then go to your subscriptions and click on scooby's vids.. there are a Large amount of great videos that hes done for you to look at . take the time to watch all of them when you get chance .. if you want any other help you can message me and ill give you any additional information .

  • FYI i asked scooby not you and i already subscribed so you feelin dumb

  • Hey scooby...this is a little off topic for this video but i wanted to ask about back workouts. I would like to see an advanced killer back workout video...i saw the one you have on your site but it really involves a lot of pullups. I am not great at pullups but are they really the best for your back?? I really want to improve my back so what should I be doing??

  • hey can u do this with a flat bar, like an Olympic bar?

  • you can, but you'll probably find that the curved bar is a little easier on your wrists

  • hey Scooby

Wud you have any fav dumbbell excercises for triceps which can be done standing up or sitting on a chair??

    thanks..

  • Wow, good quality

  • i prefer standing & over head

you could drop that thing on your jaw laying down

  • hahh.

  • thank you dude, you are awesome and you are doing a great service by teaching us the right way.you are my Guru

Hats off to you and thanks again

  • flare out means....that they push very hard in that way?

  • Great video scooby, all your videos are very helpful

  • some people (....) up like this but you're not doing triceps i haven't understood that word

  • flare out

  • i tried this variant...it's harder ;-) i noticed i could do less weight so i'm wondering what do i exercise keeping my elbows open?

today i did 1h and 9min of mountain bike i tried to run fast to elevate my heart rate in the TZ however i should buy an heart rate monitor or something for 20euro to check it

  • I second that. This excersise is really good. Also, the "horse kick" with low weight, can be a really nice triceps stressing one.

  • great video as always

  • I also thought that these workedout the forearms?

  • ive been doing the skullcrushers for awhile now, love them :D they are awesome. i do at the end of my tricep workout with a lower wieght and higher reps seems to work for me that way :D

  • I love the videos Scooby!

Would it be possible and okay to use dumbbells for this instead of a bar?

  • Scooby, I have recently tried to avoid doing that certain excersise for the triceps because as I push them up towards the peak I feel a small snapping pain its like its a bone or something but w/e it is it cant be good. so instead ive been doing close grip barbell bench presses with arms to the side for triceps.

  • My question is.....when doing push ups, what muuscles am I actually working? I have been trying to build myself up to do more because I have not worked out in a while but after doing 12-15, I feel the muscles in my chest and my triceps also. Is this right?

  • Yep, pushups is chest, triceps, and shoulders too depending on what style of pushup you do. This is why I push pushups, they are a great allaround upper body workout and if you do pullups in addition, you hit almost every muscle except abs. Throw in crunches and you got it covered :)

  • pushups workout chest, triceps and shoulders too which is why they are such a great exercise. Do em with pullups and you hit your entire upper body except abs

  • scooby your the man

  • indeed, 18k views within a few days.

  • Ahhh!! As always scooby, great video! 5/5

p.s. your banana protein milk shakes are delicious!

  • Hi scooby thanks for the new video again!

your tips are really helpfull to me!

recently i got six pack on juluy 4th!i did it scooby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i got six-pack's every day...:)

  • Hey varungoku, hope you took before and after photos!!

  • yeah scooby i did took before and after pictures!well what do i need to do scooby?

  • awesome vid ty alot

  • hey man you upgraded the gear i see! im still working hard so i could eventually be on your success stories page. good stuff man, talk to you soon

  • you make great videos with great tips that acually work! i was doing all that bowflex bull crap for like a year and never got any good results! then i found your videos and website and got a few free weights and now i am seeing awesome results from just a few months!!!! keep up the good work scooby

  • hey im 15 do you think i should be working out?

i do cardio and pushups and stuff.

but do you think it would be ok for me to workout with wieghts?

  • its fine if you start workin out, just need to start of slow and let your body get used to working out. it wont stunt ur growth or anyhting if thats wat ur worried bout

  • At age 15 I think your current workout is perfect, no rush to hit the weights.

  • frenchpress, sounds pretty gay, and i think french people are gay.

  • Wow, you must be extremely muscular and powerful... you know; to make up for your idiocy.

  • too bad i bet your a teenage kid while scooby is an engineer who is probably much smarter than you. feeling inadequate?

  • No, I'm not a teenager and I'm definitely not dumb. Nor was I talking about scooby. I replied to the guy who was ranting how French people were all gay. I'd say it's stupid of you to think I was talking about scooby since it doesn't apply. But I guess, since it takes a while before YouTube puts comments underneath each other, it was a mistake easily made. So, no hard feelings on my end.

  • Can one do these with dumbbells if you keep the same form? Or does it need a barbell?

  • I love your videos! I hope you will continue making these videos for a long time ^.^

There´s one muscle group you haven´t covered yet.. And that is for the under arms.. I know that´s basic stuff, and I know how to work them, but that could be a nice video you could make.

  • Scooby for President

  • these are killer. gr8 video scooby

  • great videos man. Keep it up. Peep the videos & see how we exercise. :)

  • I have dislocated my sholder doing dumblepress few houers ago, I am so so sad , I was progressing so well, now I cannot do any thing but physotherapy(sorry about the spelling mistakes I am from israel) .I think your work is great you help so many people,

    have good day :)

  • I hope you get well, talk to a doctor!

  • Happy Fourth Scoob! Thanx for the great vids.

  • scooby what's your opinion of supersets for big arms? guys like Bill Grant swear by them. I've had mixed results, sometimes doing supersets tires me out so fast that I don't feel like I'm getting a full workout, but then again sometimes I'm in the gym and feel like a superhero and do supersets all day long. Thoughts?

  • excellent videos its been really informative. I need to gain some weight as im really skinny and tall. im 130 pounds but 6 feet tall.

  • i do want bigger arms and i did concentrate more on biceps if it werent for your videos id have so many flaws in my workout

  • Good info dude (as always). Thanks.

  • now ur head is to big lol jk

  • Go to take the daily injection doped

  • Comment removed

  • Damn your head is big

  • Good video Scooby!

Learned something new, always thought that bicep are the most important to get big arms..

    Keep up the good work!

Wanna see more videos from you.

  • remember people you have to do various types of exercises like 1st, dips, kickbacks, two arm lying tricep pess, pussh downs etc, coz it shocks the muscles and your nerves then get a signal of to work harder, and you end up eating alot of protein to gow bigger blah blah blah lol.

  • Your grunting in your videos are unnecessary and unwarranted. It does not look you are lifting that hard to do what you do. I'm guessing you do it to look more manly

  • i find i grunt from habit even if there's very little weight. just routine i guess lol

  • another problem... when i do close grip bench press for triceps i can't keep my elbows near my body and also keep my hands tight it's a strange movement for my wrist

  • Is really important do the skull crusher exercize, cose grip bench press and dumbbell kickbacks in the same wo ?what do kickbacks develop better?

  • I've never been too happy with lifting stuff over my head while lying on my back.

A couple of years ago a guy in our local studio dropped the bar and badly hurt his larynx.

Scooby, what else can you offer us for trizeps (exercises without any equipment preferred, as always ;-)

  • may I suggest push ups and dips?

  • Push-ups are a chest exercise.

  • Wide stance focus more on the chest, bring your arms into you body, tuck your elbows into your side and do them. It works the Tri's more than chest that way. Using the same principle as bench press.

  • Though push ups are widely known as an exercise for the chest, it also works the triceps out. You need multiple muscles to execute some movement after all. Your form would dictate what muscle/s the exercise hit most.

  • fuck all you faggots

  • scoob really great vid keep up the great work pal

  • Scooby, you're the best. Thank you so much for all your advise. You help so many (for free), and hopefully you know how much we all appreciate it.

  • good tips but i dont want to watch it in hd lmao

  • ???

  • Can you do this exercise with dumbbells?

  • Yeah. I find it's easier on the tendons if you have tendonitis flare-ups like I do.

  • also interested because i dont have a barbell...

  • use dumbells for it

  • scooby do it with the bar... where you can put your hands tight

  • Triceps are the best.

  • I've been watch your video's and thought your beginners video's are perfect for my wife and me. She is currently pregnant and wants to lose all the weight after the baby is born. But doesn't want to work out by herself. Your tips gave us some idea's of how to do it as a team. Thanks for the video's and keep em coming. I'll update our status as we go through this process.

  • any exercises that focus ONLY on the forearms?

  • You shouldnt even focus on primarly doing an exercise for your forearm. This is because when you work out on your bicep and tricep, it works your forearm automatically. Especially Hammer Curls. I dont focus on my forearm but they got big because of the hammer curls and other arm workouts.

  • Thank you Scooby.

  • Thank you Scooby!

  • my tip of the elbow hurts when i do this exercise!!!

  • This is because your upper arms are too far near your head and it's putting an excessive stress on your elbows. If you do these like he shows in the video (usually called "Skull Crushers") you won't experience it.

  • or yu can do elbow in push upss

  • Lol, pretend his chin has a face, and when he pushes, it looks like its doing work haha :D

  • haha. thats funny as hell

  • scull crushers :))) nice name :)

    5*

  • I just found another variation for the skull crushers the other day....you combine the narrow grip barbell press for the triceps with the skull crusher. Start with the bar on your lower chest, press it up as you would a standard triceps press, now lower your forearms towards your head as you would the skull crusher, straighten the arms back up and then lower the weight back down to the chest and thats one rep.

  • what are some other exercises you can do for triceps?? because i dont have a bar like that

  • you can work them without any weight. Do "dips." Do you know how to do them?

  • No, i don't know what those are

  • i like tricep dips with dumbells type it in on google or youtube to find out more about it. But its basically an exercise for triceps using dumbels and you do each arm separately

  • u can do push ups but with ur hands really close together. your hands shud make a diamond shape when u put them beside each other.

  • Oh ya we do those in football i didnt know they worked your triceps though. thanks

  • scooby is the man!

  • Great video like always Scooby, keep it up man!

  • never thought of that idea....only one problem 2 days ago i dislocated my elbow so its gonna be hard.....i gottta take a break

  • Ooh nice! You got a new camera aswell, really nice quality

  • Hai scooby!

Love all of your vids and I do your exercises a lot. I only have a problem with training the muscles on the side of my back. I don't have a place to do good pull up and every time I have my arms in the air, my collar-bone pops out (it's because I have an extra rib (neckrib?)). Can you advise me any other exercise that I can use to train those muscles?

    Thanks!

  • there is no other exercise that works the lats as well as pull ups/lat pulldowns. Though bent over barbell curls works the lats a little, but mostly the middle back muscles. Sounds like you should talk to a doctor before doing any more exercise, otherwise you might get injured

  • Nah I don't think I'll get injured. It only bothers me when I put my arms straight up in the air :)

    Thanks for your response though!

  • Hey Scooby!

I've been watching your videos for the last few months and they've made a huge difference in my life.

My wife and I both thank you.

  • hey Scooby, you're doing great work you know that, I really appreciate all the knowledge that your giving out like that. Thank you so much!

  • Scooby is the MAN !!

  • cool DIY.... well Scoopy.... can you do a squat video next??? i got large shoulders.... i just wondering if there is a FASt WAY to gain alot of muscle strength in my leggs.

  • From my experience, you need to do more than squats with barbell. use machines that train the quads and machines that train the hamstrings. try to go real havy atleast once a week. but ofcourse, you should consult a doctor before

  • anyone know how old is he? im tryin to pursuade my dad into exercising lol

  • dont no his age but he been doing it for 22-24 years

  • check his website-there ull find all information u need about him and about everything fitness-bodybuilding related

  • a year or two over 40. You know Hulk Hogan? well he is way over 50 and still built like an ox, so is sylvester stallone. its never too late if you ask me

  • Stalone and Hogan both used steroids and I believe Stalone still does... he got busted for it not too long ago at an airport lol

  • Steroids or not, the y are still working hard. The only difference is that ou can work harder with steroids

  • imagine that only his mouth and up is his face

  • scooby=awesome!

  • thnx for all the help

  • good pointers.

  • What other tricep exercise can I do that is similar to a tricep press that won't put pressure on my elbow joints? They seem to get bothered when I do this exercise.

  • Do the same thing but use a reverse grip where your palms are facing you.

  • You can try doing db or close grip bench press, tricep extensions, pushups, kick backs....

  • i love this guys sense of humour

  • tricep benching is my 2nd fav exercise the best strength building exercise for me

  • thanks scooby! ur the best!!!!

  • Lol don't look at his mouth or nose and just his eyes it llooks like a head

  • lol thats funny

  • scooby is the coolest person on youtube

  • Scooby, when I lift, I like to train to failure, reduce resistance and do several drop sets to failure each time. Do you know of a way to do hardcore triceps that is NOT called "skullcrushers"?

  • rseebs - take a heavy dumbell, hold it with two hands behind your head, sitting in an upright position. and it is pretty self explanitory from there, just bend your elbows to lower the weight behind your head and press up.

  • your in HD!! HOT HOT HOT!!!

  • I love this guy! Such a nice, kind voice! Gentle giant, dare I say?

  • me and my friends here are big fans from IRAN

    LOVE UR VIDEOS

    THANKS A TON

    IRAN ,TEHRAN

  • good vid as always, THANKS!

  • Yes, Scooby is THE MAN. I've been a fan of his for over a year and have seen amazing results - read his website - take his word like it was gospel. You won't regret it ;)

  • I agree 100%, I read his website and he gives great information. I too have seen great results and he's inspired me to keep pushing forward. Thanks Scooby!

  • Does anyone else see the hilarity with a McDonalds Big Mac advertisement on his video?

WWSD? -- not eat a big mac, that's for damn sure!

  • me too, i just posted a video of my transformation. feel free to check it out

    :)

  • natural??? if it's, ur body is fucking amazing!!!

  • 20 years of herd work and dedication pays off, and he will live longer too. steroids = cheating yourself.

  • do you have a girlfriend?

  • 2:28 ROFL!!

  • his head isnt too small...

its just that his body is too big because of bodybuilding, and also for having no hair

  • damn dude. your awesome!

  • i love this guys personality

  • What does he mean by "Don't let your elbows pop out?" at 2:34

Does he mean "Dont let them pointing out?"

  • Yeah, the point is to keep your elbows motionless. the only things that move are your forearms, up n down

  • yes, because pointing out elbows have a tendency to start using the chest... or if they're pointing out and you're NOT using your chest you are working the joint at an awkward angle, which is never recommended when using freeweights ;)

  • great video!

  • doesnt the cable pull downs do the same thing?

  • Yes cable push downs do pretty much the same thing but very few people who work out at home have a cable setup. This is something you can do with just a barbell (or even dumbbells)!

  • Hey there Scoob. Your head is too big:p..

The problem with the French Press, is when I do them, I feel a lot of pressure on my wrists. Even when I do them with light weight. I've tried different variations but it won't go away, so in the end I replaced the exercise for another..

  • Comment removed

  • this man will be missed more than m.j

  • hes more then chuk norris will ever be

  • Well thanks, I probably have 100lbs more muscle than Chuck Norris but he could still take me down with one hand tied behind his back while reading bedtime stories to his grandchildren :)

  • Great video, greetings from poland :)

  • I love doing these and then the
