This type of wood splitter is very efficient. It is marketed by several different companies in a variety of colours and brandings. It should be on a stand as people are generally 5' tall or over... Can't see any sense in crawling around the ground breaking your back trying to use it in this configuration.

The log spliter is fine but i could thinks of some much better ways to use that wood
