Its not the size of the dog in the fight, It is the size of the fight in the dog. Only reason palmer was not a high draft pick. They knock little guys in football. But 6 foot and under are the best players. Great example here.
I remember teams stopped punting to this guy. He might have taken three times as many to the house. Most of the time they learned their lesson on the very first punt!!!!! lol RMFT
I was hoping that this video would have had the aerial view of the play @ 2:36. The guy that tries to tackle Palmer after he cuts upfield completely falls over.
David Palmer had the misfortune of playing for a coaching staff that had the most unimaginative offensive coaching philosophy in the HISTORY of the university of Alabama. Deuce should have been Bama's starting QB, AND the offense should have absolutely been built around his talents. What a waste.
I believe if those things been done, he would have been Alabama's first Heisman trophy winner. There's no doubt in my mind. He should've gone to Oklahoma.
@roll3413tide .............which part of what I said do you disagree with? I was kidding about Oklahoma. Otherwise, I absolutely believe what I said. I never missed a game he played. Are you sure you haven't forgotten how pathetic that offense was? When Stallings got desperate and HAD TO HAVE a touchdown, he pulled Barker and put Palmer at QB. Fact.
This is even better than the other David Palmer highlight video. Whenever #2 got the ball, the entire AFN was on their feet screaming. WE BELIEVED! I was a little disappointed in the recruiting drama, but I've forgiven him (cuz he left us with so much great footage.)
Alabama's jewel of the recruiting class was a corner back who also happens to be #2, he placed 2nd in the wide receiver skills challenge. Looks like he may be playing a a little slot possible along with returning kicks/punts.
@hutchthecruck I assume this is Milliner you're talking about? I watched his team play my high school (and lose), but Milliner was a force all game, on offense AND defense. He seemed to be around the ball on every play, and on offense him and his brother switched out at running back.
I wouldn't expect him at receiver just because our depth there is insane, and our CBs need some help this season. I WOULD expect him to play on Special Teams or be a Dime Back this season though, he shouldn't RS.
I am an Ole MIss fan and I remember being at the 93 OM/Bama game. He took over that game single handely and won it. The best college footbal player I have ever seen play the game besides Tebow.
My favorite part of that play was the lead block by Martin Houston...he absolutely cleaned house on the corner to spring Deuce into the end zone...I love a good fullback.
@eagle3244 I know, I was 15, remember jumping up and down, high fiveing my pops. Today, I wonder how a TIE could be so memorable. It looked like that winning streak was going to be over, and then it became an unbeatin streak.
Ensley/Birmingham, Alabama Legend along with Corneilus (sp.) Bennett Jackson-Olin High School Legends. We breed these kinds of athletes, they just dont make it out of high school anymore.
i played against him every year from 1981 (70 lb. team) until his sr. year at j.o in bham. this dude was the best football player i ever saw period. these highligts were cool but if you saw him in high school and little league you would not beleive the shit he did. by the way my team never beat his in 12 tries. this muthafucka was awesome!
Matter of fact it was him & Antonio. how could I forget Lang. kept talkin about that pick over Daniel Moore (UF) we had some strange but good times Roll tide
I remeber back when we won SEC aginst UF The Duece got back to the Capstone about 2:30am woke me out of a deep ass sleep with two or three female with him, however all of them was drunk but it was something about David that Mothafucka was truely Juiced! all I could say was David Palmer you son of a Bitch!!!!!!!
you played a hell of a game Roll Tide now lay some of that pussy on a Brotha!
might have won the national title in '94 if he would have stayed...or at least would have played for it. He would have made the difference in the '94 SEC Title Game
i remember growing a husker but still love to watch him play when i was living down south. dude was too freaking nasty shaking and baking the sec defenders. dude simply nasty whether he was qb, rb or wr
Don't see it here, but I saw him play in person against Ole Miss in 1994. There were less than 30 seconds left, and we had the ball on about our own 20. Deuce went into QB and threw a 70 yard bomb to Kevin Lee. Michael Proctor ended up kicking a field goal and winning that game.
Pop was the best player to ever come out of Birmingham and he's first teal all UA as well. He's the receivers coach at Parker High now in Birmmingham. Even though we beat him my senior year at Parker he scared the hell out of us that game....
Great video considering Pop is my cousin, i loved it. Although i grew up in alabama, i graduated high school in ohio (glenville 93) and seeing Ted Ginn Jr. They are the two best wr/return men i have seen. I saw that play with him coming to a complete stop that was nuts. i saw the HS playoff game against Central Tusc. he put on a clinic there too in a lost. I think he stills hold the shug bowl record (lil league football) for most TD's in a championship game 5.
Although 'Bama lost the 1993 SEC Championship Game, do you remember his performance against the Gators...speechless. He did everytthing except sell those delicious Legion Field Hotdogs!
The most exciting college player Ive ever seen. I remember a move he made in high school where he was running full speed and stopped on a dime to avoid a db who had the angle. The db ended up tackling air and David walked into the end zone. Amazing talent.
