hi,i'd like to know if you know anything about replacing shock fasteners bolts when you replace the rear shocks on a 2006 chevy cobalt. alldata said you should use new one's when replacing the shock's...thanks
Nice! I have been watching a lot of these installation videos and there is a ton of detailed talk and when it comes to the installation i hear loud, fast music and there camera is way too close so i cannot see what is really being done. Thanks for the first good explanation that i have seen and good camera work that i actually see how to do it!
The only thing that I do not like about this video is that he says to tighten each nut as tight as you can. With any suspension component it is very important to follow the recommend torque specs. I just thought that it was unusual to hear a mechanic say something like this for a suspension component (even though it is just a shock) since "as tight as you can" will vary from person to person.
Thanks a lot for the demonstration! I had no idea how difficult it would be to replace my shocks, and this video demonstrated some unforeseen issues I might encounter, like the rotating shock when tightening the nut. This looks like a great way to save some money!
thanks for the video, seems its really easy to replace shocks. The ones on my Jeep Grand Cherokee are rusted through on the outer upper sheild and have 170k miles on it so i plan to replace them. Will save me alot of money if this is truely how easy it is to replace them
From the many clips I have watched on youtube in an attempt to learn to do some repairs in my own car, I have found your videos to be of excellent quality and superb content. Thank you for taking the time to do them and share them with the community. You have saved, at least to me, some good money just with this one.
Piece of shit Jeep corporation's standard shocks intentionally come with a neck too narrow for vice grips so you have to buy a special tool to keep them from spinning and being impossible to remove.
It's all about making more money in auto repairs for these companies.

Went to the dealer to replace the strut of my mazda5. They charge me also for the DAMPER. IS the strut different from the damper?
andro5693 1 year ago
Yes, Damper is different. It is in the middle of the front suspension, under the car.
