Each OS has its Achilles heel. Mac is bad for gaming and has no Blu-Ray support. Windows isn't too great for media production. Linux has compatibility issues with a lot of devices, since not many companies make Linux drivers.
Point is, it depends largely on what you're trying to accomplish. For normal tasks - email, office software, internet - pretty much any major OS will work. And by major, I mean don't get the little distros of Linux and expect them to be totally normal.

Windows is still pretty good, but linux / mac are coming out with some pretty cool features. Nevertheless windows is 90% marketshare and because of that it will stay like that.

You don't NEED the terminal! Please define "casual users". I'd consider a casual user to be one who: uses a browser, an IM client, image editor, office suit, movie player, and audio player. And Ubuntu has all these right out of the box: Firefox, Empathy, GIMP, OpenOffice, Totem, and Riythmbox.

Lol, kind of same here. When I got my iMac in 2007, the DVD drive kept a DVD-R disc. When I got the replacement a few hours later, I was afraid to put in another disc! But I'm typing this from the replacement iMac and it's worked fine burning and reading discs. :P

I truly dislike Windows and mac; but I can't say much about mac because I have minimal experience with it, But I can say that it looks nice. Dos runs better than Windows by a long shot and Linux has way better process management.(%0 when idle) But Windows is to fancy toy as Linux is to work. so why not duel boot? Its a nice balance of yin and yang. BTW Linux is compatible with windows and mac.(Wine and Mac-on-Linux) some times out of the box/burner. In a nut shell they all have pros & cons.
Yeah, they forgot to mention one thing: Developing applications on Windows is a nightmare. The f-ing system doesn't even have a damn integrated compiler like all the other modern OS's. You have to buy Visual Studio to develop apps for their f-ing OS.

Linux: Server
Mac: Some audio, photo and video apps.
Why all the hatin on windows? Vista Ultimate 64bit is the best fucking OS out there. There isn't anything wrong with it! With SP1, it caught up to XP in gaming, it's stable as a rock, never crashed on me. Only thing is you need a pretty good comp to run it properly, but good PCs are cheap nowdays. I've never had a virus, crash or BSOD. Learn to look after a computer imo.
Mac can be use as home computer,not only PC with windows and Linux,but I had a Compac Presario 1625(AMD K6 266MHz,96 MB Ram,and i worked on Win XP and WiFi,and I'm still dont know how??),but i know one thing now,I've never gone change my Mac to PC with windows,it's much faster and more safety OS:)
While I am definitely not a fan of Windows and definitely not Vista. I have heard that Ultimate does seem to be more useable than most versions of vista. But I only used home basic before switching to Linux on my Dell.
But either you built it and got vista with sp1 or you were able to survive the year before sp1.

This vid was made in 95. Back THEN, all the things they sang about Win95 was totally true. It SUCKED and Mac was ahead of it's time, and superior in every way. But thanks to being over priced and crappy marketing, the Mac platform lost it's hold. Nowdays tho, it doesn't matter what platform you use. You can do everything with a PC that you can do with a Mac - and vice versa. "more games" is not a valid argument since that's only true cause PC is bigger.
The only problem is that pc users need to upgrade some stuff now and then and with a mac you cant, you can buy a mac now and play games on it and after 2 years when its upgrade time you need to buy a WHOLE NEW FUCKING MAC to just keep up im sorry im not that rich.
I dunno... I upgraded my Mac twice. I was 8 years old when I bought my new one.
Granted, it's a little more expensive to upgrade a mac, because mostly you need to do it through Apple. Don't HAVE to, but it's safer in order to insure that all the stuff you bought will work with the machine. A good aspect of this tho, is that most of the time the most expensive cards etc is also the best you can get at the time of upgrade. It's like you got no choice but to pick the best stuff.

taskbars suck docks are just an overall better way of managing if your a multitasker like me

yeah but docks also take up more ram and slow th pc down. so if you want a slow pc than yeah a dock is the way to go. Taskbar + PC = Rabbit Speed. Dock + PC = Turtle speed.

I truly dislike Windows and mac; but I can't say much about mac because I have minimal experience with it, But I can say that it looks nice. Dos runs better than Windows by a long shot and Linux has way better process management.(%0 when idle) But Windows is to fancy toy as Linux is to work. so why not duel boot? Its a nice balance of yin and yang. BTW Linux is compatible with windows and mac.(Wine and Mac-on-Linux) some times out of the box/burner. In a nut shell they all have pros & cons.

Yeah, they forgot to mention one thing: Developing applications on Windows is a nightmare. The f-ing system doesn't even have a damn integrated compiler like all the other modern OS's. You have to buy Visual Studio to develop apps for their f-ing OS.

Here's what I think
Windows: Home PC, laptop etc.
Linux: Server
Mac: Some audio, photo and video apps.
Why all the hatin on windows? Vista Ultimate 64bit is the best fucking OS out there. There isn't anything wrong with it! With SP1, it caught up to XP in gaming, it's stable as a rock, never crashed on me. Only thing is you need a pretty good comp to run it properly, but good PCs are cheap nowdays. I've never had a virus, crash or BSOD. Learn to look after a computer imo.

Mac can be use as home computer,not only PC with windows and Linux,but I had a Compac Presario 1625(AMD K6 266MHz,96 MB Ram,and i worked on Win XP and WiFi,and I'm still dont know how??),but i know one thing now,I've never gone change my Mac to PC with windows,it's much faster and more safety OS:)

While I am definitely not a fan of Windows and definitely not Vista. I have heard that Ultimate does seem to be more useable than most versions of vista. But I only used home basic before switching to Linux on my Dell.
But either you built it and got vista with sp1 or you were able to survive the year before sp1.

linux.... linux! LINUX IS THE MOST UNSECURE OPERATING SYSTEM! It has 500 - 1000 viruses now..... Its that most people use windows so....... pretend there was 3 nails........... 1 for windows, 1 for mac, 1 for linux.... Windows is barly in, meaning it has lots of users..... but linux has it almost in and mac..... mac has it SO much small..... pretend the hammer was a virus.... which would you hit first? The tallest the medium-small, or the extremly small?

lol you are so misinformed linux can fit onto a floppy disk and "Damn Small Linux" is 50Mb and has a full blown gui. also thers not that many viruses for linux the most noted of them was "the Cuckoo's Egg attack" which was fixed because it was a bug in emacs. but theres a name for that windows users know as "malware"

This vid was made in 95. Back THEN, all the things they sang about Win95 was totally true. It SUCKED and Mac was ahead of it's time, and superior in every way. But thanks to being over priced and crappy marketing, the Mac platform lost it's hold. Nowdays tho, it doesn't matter what platform you use. You can do everything with a PC that you can do with a Mac - and vice versa. "more games" is not a valid argument since that's only true cause PC is bigger.
I use mac, btw. Got Win installed tho.

The only problem is that pc users need to upgrade some stuff now and then and with a mac you cant, you can buy a mac now and play games on it and after 2 years when its upgrade time you need to buy a WHOLE NEW FUCKING MAC to just keep up im sorry im not that rich.

I dunno... I upgraded my Mac twice. I was 8 years old when I bought my new one.
Granted, it's a little more expensive to upgrade a mac, because mostly you need to do it through Apple. Don't HAVE to, but it's safer in order to insure that all the stuff you bought will work with the machine. A good aspect of this tho, is that most of the time the most expensive cards etc is also the best you can get at the time of upgrade. It's like you got no choice but to pick the best stuff.
