@bostonburke88 That was 5over through 4 rounds, they were on the 59th hole (out of 72) in the tournament, and Oakmont that year was playing very hard. Rough high, greens extremely fast, fairways pretty narrow, and very long for a Par 70 (the longest par 3 was playing close to 300yards on Sunday!)

Can someone help me with my golf swing? When I swing with an iron sometimes i set the club straigt up and down and sometimes i put my hand in front of the ball to start. I dont know which way to stick with because i make good contact both ways. What do you guys think.

depending on how old you are, i don't think you should be helping anyone with their golf swing. i hit a full 9 iron about 155 yards...not 100. either your swing is flawed or you are still young yet, i'm 20 years old. i'm a 6 handicap.

ideally u shld place ur hands in front of the ball.

with short irons the ball needs to be in the middle of your stance, so if u imagine your club as an extension of your left arm(if ur right handed) your hands will definitley be ahead of the ball

with longer irons (3,4,5) the ball will be slightly forward in ur stance, and so your hands will not be so far ahead...
