Lunch, street food (very tasty) 30 Bhat. Orange Drink (on beach road) 20 bhat. Meat on a stick (3) for dinner and veggies from street market.30 bhat. Small bag of peanuts 10 bhat. Two waters per day were comp at my hotel so I didn't need buy extra. It can be done folks. :-)

  • haha, wow, what the hell..the thai guy at the end of the clip..i know him.I used to have a pub many years ago next to the palace where he used to have his breakfast buffet, smile guest house. his name is taek.hahah wow, memories memories..

  • I like this, but this guy is weird nit noi :)

  • howlong bangkok to chaing mai by train?

  • @HEALBURMA1997 it's about 10-12 hours depends on the train.

  • you just buy cheap food...anyway you save your money,,

  • Lol u r so funnyy! i love ur Thai pronouncing!

  • omg, you can eat much tastier food for 100 baht a day. No need to go to the University canteen to save money.

The best Pad Tai in the city will cost 25 baht near Chiang Moi road, for 25 baht you will have Khao Ka Moo + soup + water + a banana at Chang Puak gate (past 6 pm). For 30 baht you can taste the burmese curry noddles with chicken near the 3 Kings monument.

  • ya dong is 20/30 baht a bottle from the shop,

  • learn your thai numbers and ps and qs, and will will get everything even cheaper,

    at least try.

  • i only pay 10b for ya dong here in hua hin

  • Interesting choice of subject. It's really hard to not concentrate on money while in Thailand. Baht this, baht that. You can end up spending your entire vacation quibbling about money, doing conversions etc. That's why many people go there, to not think about money for awhile!

  • If you can't survive on 100 baht a day in chiangmai then you are wasting your money. That will feed 2 people for the day.

  • @sansaiman1 true

  • What a dork

  • Thai's may hate cheap farangs. But they also charge farangs 3 times the price.

I don't have a problem with this per say as the prices are still very reasonable. And yes I know how much they hate the cheap charlie's. I have yet to be called a Kee Nee Ow. I always tip well when out there. Hotels, Restaurants and of course bars. Maybe this is where my 2 week millionaire philosophy comes into play. I like to enjoy myself and have no problems sharing it with those who deserve it.

    Pom Rak Mung Thai.

  • Very nice! How much did you get your bike for? Do you worry that people might steal it if you leave it unlocked like that?

  • Why is it rich westerners go to third world countries and are proud of the fact that they are tight bastards and avoid spending their money?

If this creep was in Bristol or Bath or wherever he comes from he would spend 20-30 pounds at Waitrose and not bat an eyelid. Then he would spend at least another tenner in his pub with all his mates in the evening.

Thai people hate stingy westeners as they depend on them for an income. People like this mate me sick.

  • @MENSFORTHHILL99

Not all westerner are rich. I think your assumption is a little harsh. He is merely pointing out how to survive on a budget. Yes you can go there and be a 2 week millionaire. But if you are staying for a prolonged period of time you may need to budget to get by. This does not make him a cheap charlie.

  • @MrBritUSA

Take it from someone who is married to a Thai national and has lived there. Thais hate cheap Falangs.

Your comment '2 week millionaire' does not add up. Why would anybody seriously travel from the UK to Thailand (or anywhere else for that fact) and boast about how they can live off 100 baht a day (about 2 pounds). It would be irresponsible not to have suficent funds. As for medical insurance i suppose he would rely on his 2 pounds a day. It's a joke.

  • it is really possible to survive a day in chiang mai or somewhere in the country with just 100 thai baht.it is up to the people some can do it some dont want some dont need it.live and let live

  • what the guest house name ?

    thank you

  • @q8thai Guest house's name is Gord Chiang Mai, they locate in the old city area of Chiang Mai.

  • How much is for hotel?Well, I'm gonna live w/ my GF, she's in Thai, haha. And did you ride that bike around Chiang Mai all day? We plan to travel on budget. I like your video man!!! BTW, how's the weather over there?

  • Thailand is great for that. You can stay there on any kind of budget. The ticket price might be expensive. But once there you can live on whatever small budget you have... literally like in the video... next to nothing! £1 = B49!

  • Nice video and very informative and fun to watch. I hope to explore Thailand in two years God willing. I will be in my sunset years then and will wander the backstreets of the world.

  • great vid dude

  • I know this is done tongue in cheek, but it really shows that if you can eat 3 real meals for $3.30 USD a day, you can certainly live very well on a Western budget of $50 to $100/day.

  • thanks for this great video!!!

  • I can live in chiang mai with 50 baht. You are only a loser

  • 1 $ = 30 bath

  • I'm live in Chiang mai , pay 90 - 150 bath a day (If you only have a food)

  • LOL Where I live I can barely walk out the door for that amount. OK. It would get me one small coffee or two cheeseburgers or ...well you get the picture. Anyway, this is a cool way to show the city. Thanks.

  • Well, I could do it ! :D

  • In the Philippines..it is 1 price for locals but another for farang..is it this way also in Thailand??

  • @Myhike3 yes, but not every place in Thailand. ;)

  • @Myhike3 this is aweful and not good same price for everybody so what?

  • @Myhike3 with food the price is the same in Thailand but when it comes to other things then yes thier is dual pricing.
