  • I live in Upstate New York and every once in a while, these Hinterland clips would appear on American TV. I wish they would bring these commercials back.

  • Sorry folks, these ads remind me of sitting in my basement waiting for Get Smart to come on. Pretty depressing.

  • These were great but pc movement says a woman must announce the new ones and it;s not as good as the guy who does these .

  • I love the sound that loons make...such a beautiful noise....I still here it occasionally when I visit my aunt.

  • The flute at the beginning gives me goosebumps, lol.

  • I love these old HWW's. I love the flute intro, and John Livingston's soothing voice.

Oh, yeah...I also love the animal info!

  • sorry hit dislike by accident. So its 0 I like lol

  • These videos are absolute classics. Simple, nothing flashy...canadiana at its best.

  • These are classic Canadiana! Thanks.

  • Classic!

  • There was a short-lived updated Hinterland Who's Who series a few years ago and I believe there was an updated version of this loon PSA. Anyone know where I can find it?

  • Plus they have money made in their honour.

  • Does anyone know who wrote the music for flute in the beginning? I've been trying to hunt it down for awhile now.

  • The original Hinterland Who's Who music is called "Flute Poem" and was composed by John Cacavas.

  • @jefreeeeee Awesome info, Nice to be able to finally know what that lovely music is actually called!

  • These take me back to my childhood. But now that I'm living in Norway and there are no Loons here I suddenly miss them. They are the sound of summer.

  • Our motorcycle club has a Loon on a lake as our symbol.

Lake country bikers S. Dakota and Western Minnesota.

  • @TRKWP Nice!

  • Theyre not commercials...they are Public Service Announcements

  • LOONS FUCKING KICK ASS!

  • Loons do kick ass - literally. A recent study shows that loons will often fight each other to the death. Google "quirks quarks cbc loons" for the podcast about the study. It will freak you out.

  • I enjoyed watching this. Thank you for posting it. :-)

  • i luv these commercials

  • This classic.
