Lol...Uhmm the point of having him suspended in the air was to simulate a helicopter's capacity to "overcome gravity" which is essentially what all aeronautical machines do. At the beginning of the segment the guy said that they wanted to test the hypothesis that the rotation of Jason's leg would calculate at the same RPM of a single rotation of a helicopter's blade. Of course a human being is not a combustible engine and can't maintain a 300 RPM rotation.
