@perthheat111 Well crazy , yes, but syd lost control of his mind in 1968 from schizophrenia, triggered by his acid trips, true fact look it up, but his solo was pretty interesting
The third track-"Love You" sounds as if i could have been made by the Beatles, has that definite Lennon-McCartney sound and lyrical content... Agree?!!
whoever the hell you are you are so INCREDIBLY MISINFORMED ITS PATHETIC! do you not know about these people before you make randomly stupid comments????????
you no folks, this is like, one flew over the cookoos nest, this was recorded in the nut house,by syd, after he had taken to much acid,it is unreal ,a real classic,I got the album back in the 70s,& I still dig it:::
just the other day i was reading about a technique for recording electric guitar by micing up the amp and placing a second mic right next to the right hand of the player to get the sound of the raw strings. and whaddayaknow a few days later i stumble upon this great example of the technique in action.
I agree. It must have been a real trip to follow Syd with his apparent rambling style and abrupt phrase changing. But that's what is great about his stuff.
Fantastic! I know that vinyl digitalisation is a lot of work (almost all my vids are from my LPs. I didn't know Syd Barrett made some solo albums, but I own The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and a Bootleg with Frank Zappa and I have been always looking for more!
i love floyd i em on lsd i see god i fly in your brain i meet sid i suck my brain every night and day i dont know what im seying kill me if you must.i have my mysic i am a fag i am a god i am a mother i am a sister fuck you all i sleep with sid every nightand day in my mind
@PostToastie I have become a vinyl convert recently...there has been a turntable in the house for years which has not been used, then recently I decided to get some vinyl after I wanted to for ages, being the nostalgic person that I am...you certainly can't beat the vinyl format for artwork...and there is just something about vinyls...more exciting than just listening to an mp3 player or putting a CD in a hi-fi...
alsolutely nothing is better than vinyl! In my opinion because of the digitalisation something in the sound gets lost. Good Luck by finding a good turntable!
@AirHendrix91 Ive always loved the real wood consoles that are tube , get one thats at least 100 watts and be prepared to be amazed , , , , the wood case and the superior tube amps will impress you , . . . age is unimportant , if real old you may need to replace the speakers, Ive got a marantz that dates to 1969, thats 185 watts , I love t, with a replaced garrard turntable
@AirHendrix91 Vinyl is the next best thing to the original master tapes in terms of sound quality. You can get a new or used turn table as long as it works and you have a good needle.
MP3s? Vinyls are an analogue signal with more densely packed detail than MP3s by a long, long shot. But why is MP3 your reference? The symbol of the modern age's preoccupation with convenient crapness. If you want some good, clean sound, look beyond the CD to high resolution sources like DTS and SACD. Hell, even if you can run an HDCD it's going to demolish rubbish like MP3. Buying a cheapie Vinyl player is a questionable idea compared to an affordable DVD/Blu Ray player.
i remember in highschool everyone was talking about floyd and i remember sitting in saturday school listnin to this cd and no one else had a clue about syd's solo stuff
OMG!!! this is so AMAZING!!! i love it!!! i knew u would make it sooner or later!!! i love the pics and the songs!!! i love the madcap laughs!!! it is an AMAZING and BREATH taking album! it is an wonderful creation by the MIRACULOUS syd!!! we will always love the great syd barrett!!! R.I.P. syd!!! :*)
How odd. Every time something bad happened in Syd's career, Gilmour was around.

In Digital Music, you cannot hear the space...there are no walls, no pillars, no air. Just saying.

Hate to ask this here but are Vinyl records even better than 320 kbps .mp3's?
Always wanted to buy a record player or turn table but never found one for newbies like me.
Like the easy going attitude Syd is displaying in the first song :D.
AirHendrix91 3 years ago
Better than any MP3, buy a turntable, I found a great one at Goodwill.
PostToastie 3 years ago 9
Aight, does Goodwill have an online store?
I found an ok one on Amazon for $70 but it looks kinda shady lol.

Actually found an old record player my family bought at a yardsale. All I need is the stylus.
