"Moorcock collaborated with the British rock band Hawkwind on many occasions: The Hawkwind track "The Black Corridor", for example, included verbatim quotes from Moorcock's novel of the same name, and he worked with the band on their album Warrior on the Edge of Time. Moorcock also penned the lyrics to "Sonic Attack", a Sci-Fi satire of the public information broadcast, that was part of Hawkwind's Space Ritual set."
@almanacofsleep I was probably pissed about something FIVE MONTHS AGO and being ironic. The real sad thing is it took 5 months for anyone to say what you said about what I said and that's sad. You are correct. That statement is disgusting.
Is this where Douglas Adams might have got "Don't Panic!" from, as soothing reassuring words to put on the the cover of the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy?" I can see the irony a lot more clearly now...
Is this where Douglas Adams might have got "Don't Panic!" from, as sothing reassuring words to put on the the cover of the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy?" I can see the irony a lot more clearly now...
I think it's cool you avoided the "obvious" audio source and went for one taped 5 months later! Reached this recording via Icke and Hawkwind pages on the internet, so kind of a strange route!
@SuperCartiel -it's from "Bring me the Head of Yuri Gagarin" taped by a bootlegger on 27 May 1973 and subsequently released as a commercial album. Narratives are clear but do listen to audio samples of the instrumentation tracks on Amazon before deciding to spend out on this notorious release!
I was fortunate enough to witness Hawkwind playing live at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica California in 1973. Pissed off at only about 5000 people showed, they swore they would never come back and proceeded to play their hearts out for almost 4 hours... that's right... four fucking hours. This group was and is cutting edge. They are truly "Masters of Reality".
The words in this piece were taken from those written by Psychiatrist Dr. Charles Follen McKim Maloney. Maloney was commisioned by the British government to write them as a warning to the general public when scientists looking into the feasability of sonic attack became convinced that the USSR had a deployable sonic weapon and were going to use it in an attack on he UK. To date the only sonic weapon known to man was invented by Maloney, it is based on the mating call of an alpha male baboon!
Dr. Charles Follen Mckim Maloney's work for the British government regarding the deployable sonic weapon have gone largely unnoticed, except for scholars such as yourself, suspectdevice71. The blueprints for the great Dr. Maloney's so-called "Sonic-Slayer" remain in a hermetically-sealed container under lock key in the archives of the Duke Street Hospital in Glasgow where he performed the secret baboon experiments.
Duke Street hospital was demolished for the most part in 1995. The remaining Building was acquired by Loretto Housing Association which was looking for an appropriate building to lodge residents from the nearby Great Eastern Hotel, this being scheduled for closure in late 2000. The hospital was converted in that year to provide the accommodation the project required.
@suspectdevice71 interesting comment m8 but you are wrong about their not being sonic weapons ... google H.a.a.r.p. It was very likely that H.A.A.R.P. WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LARGE AMOUNT OF EARTHQUAKES AND TSUNAMIS ABOUT OF LATE . . . God help us all . if the New World Order continue with their insane plan for one world government and world domination , most of our freedoms will be taken away and we will lose our freedom of speech and the right to protest . peace stiff little fingers .. 4 ever!
this is sped up, the slower original is way more eerie.

This isn't the older 'Sonic Attack" from 'Space Ritual'. It's way different.
Where did this version come from?
