Some of the happiest and most successful European countries currently have Democratic Socialist systems. If it wasn't for ridiculous conservatives and their bullshit protestant ethic from hundreds of years ago (it was ignorant then, and is now), we would be in good shape too.

Good song, but capitalism lifts people out of poverty by giving them opportunity. Everytime extreme socialism and communism are tried it ends in oppression of freedom, shared misery, and death and destruction. Also, abortion has killed more black people than gangs, war, drugs, lynchings, AIDS and sickle cell put together. Seventy percent of abortion clinics are in black neighborhoods and the black rate of abortion is approaching 50%. Yes these are the days of decision.
I think poor people have abortions alot because they don't feel like they can care for a child because they don't have any money. Well guess what the number one cause of debt is in America...HEALTHCARE of course. Having free healthcare would also send the message to potential abortive mothers that if they keep their baby, their country will do its part to help care for it, so the mother wouldn't have as much financial fear...
Yes, I agree economics is often the reason, but in the past our ancestors raised very large families on the pay of coal miners and mill workers. I think we also suffer from materialism, immaturity and a lack of understanding of how precious each human life is. My biology professor in college was paralized from the neck down but he was a wonderful man and had a great mind. What a shame if he had been aborted.
@yukonnoka u kno the majority of abortions r from people who simply just dont want children, not poor people just people who have unprotected sex for fun. and healthcare is not the largest cuaser of debt in america the federal reserve is
That's wonderful! I know many fundamentalists and some are hardly worth the title Christian while others are practically saints, always trying to help others etc. We can't lump them all together either.
Capitalism lifts people out of poverty...? Are we living in the same system? People are thrown out of their homes because they can't afford to pay the ridiculous taxes for a war they didn't choose. And giving tremendous bailouts to corporations while the common man is shoved onto the streets and patted on the back and given some heroin to keep him quiet. Sure is lifting 'em out of poverty.
Well, it can be tough, of course and I'll agree about the taxes, but taxes are also high because of the burden of social welfare expenditures. I have been in poverty, living in a trailer in Ohio with no heat in winter. That forced us to load up the U-haul and move to Maine to help build a garage. If we had stayed and taken welfare, we might still be there. There would have been no garage and no advancement for us. Yes, capitalism is harsh but it does work if you work it.
@swiiila Capitalism does indeed give opportunities to the likes of Haliburtion and co... to go off and make billions in a grab for Oil resources...More oppertunities too such as those Casino Banks Bear Stearnes and likes of Fannie May Freddie Mac bailed out by theoverly taxed Working Poor!..... Socialism for the Rich!!!! with Donald Rumsfeld and that five time draft dodger Dick Cheaney at the Helm ......
@amysita77 Thank you for your generous and unbiased evaluation of my intellect and my ancestry. I daresay we are all inbred to some extent if we knew the truth. Perhaps Ralph Waldo Emerson was inbred too. He said, "...that is the one base thing in the universe, - to receive favors and render none" and "the highest price (a man) can pay for a thing is to ask for it". Capitalism is natural. It follows natural laws. It suffers not disequilibrium but rewards effort with recompense.
Capitalism lifts people in cars made of plastic for times made of waste.

The GOP is systematically destroying America. May they pay for their crimes, may they pay severely and may they pay soon.

There's a lot more wrong with American extreme-capitalism / corporatism than capitalism in general.
