Make sure your chd files and your roms are in the roms folder.... Unzipped..... Make sure the version of the roms you are using is the same as the mame version Ex: .137 ... Mameuifx is great.... It has a search bar and a great GUI. Hope this helps

if you go to a site called mame dvds you can purchase dics that have all the chd files killer instint 1 and 2 you need plus about 6,000 games like metal slug 1 2 3 4 5 all mk games 1 2 3 x men etc. you can purchase all dic like 25.00 bucks i tryed finding chd fike on the net no luck so i just purchased dic it works great well thats my story i went thru what your going thru lost half the hair on my head from pulling it out. good luck

Some new arcade needed more space and they made Hard disks for them. Some data of the game are on hard disks.
To Run CHD games (you can see what games are those, if you use mameui, just to CHD and look what games need CHD there). You will need the rom file and find the CHD file on net and get the CHD file too.
Put the CHD file in the same zip file of the rom and put in the rom folder.
Look man to answer all of your questions and get this working, mad simple. First have a mame engine. Second get your game for example sfa3.zip. Download the chd files "chunk raw data file" and put them into the sfa3.zip folder. To finish this off you need the sfa3 bios file - it is the cps3 bios file. I would just search for it under google. SO to sum it up you put your chd file and bios file in your rom zip file of the game your trying to play.. Hope this is helpful

actually the page says "File not found" everytime I click "Download Now" to dl a CHD file from emucation. Go to generation-roms for CHDs instead (Do a Google search). On the left side there is a MAME CHD section. Click on that then choose a CHD from the 5 pages. Each chd has about one to three rar parts to download. Download each rar part, then right click part01 and extract the CHD
Google "Emuparadise". That website has CHDs for MAME

Easy Make a folder inside of the Roms folder for example Area51.
You go to the Mame and you see the name file call area51.
Put that name on your new folder then put the chd file inside of the folder.
Refresh MAME and you have now the game to play.
If have a CRC error on the file you need to get the new one including the last MAME Emulator ;)

yeah i got this working a while ago, the best way I got the chd file was to download it from a torrent link, cause google didnt help me at all...
if ur familiar with torrents then just find a torrent that has both the rom and the chd file, chd files are a real pain in the ass...

Just ran into the same problem, generation roms solved the problem though. You can find the CHD's for almost every problem game on there.
