  • Admittedly the corvette driver did not know the track, which was clear on many turns, But it is the subarus fault for the second accident. That driver was making an unsafe entry to the track, especially since it was at the inside of a corner like that in traffic. Idk who hit the subaru to make it spin, so i have no comment for that

  • @sheepborg Yea, you spoke my mind, the Vett DID NOT hit the Subaru the second time, but the first time when the Subaru got hit from behind i dont know about that.

  • Man, i would of smashed the vett drivers face in after the race. Hopfully that was the subbie taking the vette at the line at the end of the race, that would of been salt in the wound. But judging by the vette's driving that was probably the subbie lapping the vette for the 8th time.

  • What is this.. Demolition Derby ? The Corvette driver clearly didnt like being overtaken. Also the Corvette loses grip on his rearwheels surprisingly often compared to the Imprezza.

  • It looks like the corvette driver has less skill and the car is not as prepared for the track. The track is also wet. Naturally, if you pour money into an STi and give it a good driver, it's going to do better than a letter equipped Corvette with a slower driver

  • That track re-entry at 4:20 was really improper. Driving was good enough but downshifts where a bit lazy. I didnt hear a throttle blip to help sync with the lower gear. Competition was all over the place and whats that car variety? Isnt any kind of class separation there? What the hell that small Toyota yaris is doing there.

  • WRX was obviously the better car all-around, however, as most who race/auto-x know, the better car doesnt always win.

    Props to the WRX though, as he ran a good clean race while the vette had to take a cheap shot just to hold on.

    Also you could tell that the Vette driver was scared shitless of the WRX catching though with the way he was pushing the corners & losing traction, which was pretty funny to watch as it happened.

  • Despite the predictable comments, this was very entertaining to watch just based on the fact that these are two completely different cars with different tire setups for the weather, and it was "heated". Enjoy the video for what it was. Stop trying to out-argue the internet, you're not going to win.

    2.47-3.00 look at the power of the wrx,the vette cant get the wrx off his tail..

    if you look closely from 2.53-3.00 at the straight line,the wrx 'middle power' was fantastic..

    and the track management was poor,the track was small but lots of car in there..

  • corvette won in a race, but for the skill and car preformance, the wrx won, cos corvette was so far ahead after the wrx crash, and the wrx manage to catch up pretty fast.

  • It is not who is better driver, check the video you will see both doing some reasonable mistakes just like any other racing driver. If you are asking me i think that was a great demonstration of RWD vs 4WD the handling of Impreza it is just unbelievable. And clearly the vette driver using some old school racing technique ..If you cant pass them, ram them. Nice Video

    he should have stayed off the track until traffic cleared before joining back on to the track. You think vette should have slowed down to someone back out onto track instead? Looking at the bmw hanging its tail out so quickly, it's pretty obvious that the track is pretty damn slippery. Try driving a high torque rwd car in the rain balls out and let me know how well you keep that rear end from stepping out

  • @DNATS Most people in Vetts cant drive Vetts for shit, i am a Corvette guy and when i see drivers like that it disgusts me, look up the C6.R (the drivers for that Vett are the best), remember, sUbArU is all wheel drive (anyone can drive an all wheel drive car), rear wheel cars take more professional skills, and in the end rear wheel drive cars will always own all wheel drive cars.

    But not anyone can drive all wheel drive cars...at least not on racetrack. Whatever the car is, you'd still need a focused mind behind it to race fairly and cleanly >>

  • @chan625 GM got bailed out because of all American Brands they are the Most Productive ones, they don't sell very well in America anymore (at these time) but world wide GM is one of the top selling Brands in the world, China and other Countries buy more GM cars than any other Brand (GM does not rip you off like all other brands, GM = The most bang for your buck), Most Asian cars are not so reliable/efficient anymore, the Corvettes get about the same and even MORE MPG than a lot of Asian Cars....

    While Ford downsized seeing difficult times ahead, GM kept acting blind and proud. As a result General Motors is now Government Motors!! and still now if you don't consider govt. handicap, they are not doing very well

  • @chan625 Yea, Ford is good, they are my second choice, but when it comes to Bang for your buck (not getting rip off) and performance and efficiency and reliability GM comes out on top, and that is not me just saying that, those are the facts, yes GM was VERY BLIND, but know they are coming back up to the top slowly but surely and they have some of the MOST efficient and reliable cars out their compared to other Global brands (and its just the beginning).

  • @nonemc Not all of it...as Govt.(both US and canada) had aided GM in form of Loans, Equity capital, working capital and some kind of handicap in taxation, each accounting to different amount.

    I think they paid back loan and working cap but equity is still there if partly paid and so are the tax benefits.

    Also if Govt. takes out money, there is a danger of GM crashing down at wall street again.

    I hope they come out of this, but with decisions they've made, I think they dug this hole themselves

  • @chan625 The rest of it is not a big deal, they will take care of that, but yes, GM did get themselves in the hole they are in know, and i am VERY glad that they did, that is the only way they would ever learn, i have always been a GM owner and fan but i also saw all the ignorant and stupid things they did for years and hoped that one day they would start doing the things they are doing know, they are on the right track again, and if i was the owner/CEO of GM i would have.....

  • @chan625 changed GM a LONG TIME AGO, i wish they had done what Ford did and cut back on a lot of things but that is not the case and they will learn the hard way know (they have learned), know i am looking forward to seeing them come back to the top and seeing all of the new things that they will come out with, it is long due but finally here, the world will see what GM is truly about, but in the end their performance in Motor Sports has always been on top and still is on top,.....

  • @nonemc Considering they are four seater(properly) and much usable as everyday car they are double time better package than any of you mentioned. Also great value for money + Reliability and you just gotta see how they launch off the line...

    Let down on looks but thats the only flaw & its not ugly by any means if not mass appealing enough

  • @chan625 I like the look of Subaru STIs, but if i want a 4 seater i would buy a 4 seater and if i want a sports car (Vett) i will buy a sports car, all 4 wheel drive cars get a very quick launch in the start but then fall back a few seconds later, have you seen the Chevy Cruze (5seater) racing in Europe, they won and have been doing VERY well. 8)

  • @chan625 And i say that anyone can drive/race all wheel drive cars because its true, i race every weekend and i have been in a STI, EVO, SKYLINE, etc, and they are VERY EASY to drive, you need WAY more skill to drive RWD cars, but when it comes to racing (no matter what you drive) if you can see and know that you are slower than the guys behind you you need to move out of the way and let them pass you by, you cant be fkn up everyone else behind you (just what the Corvette was doing).

  • The impreza doesn't really do anything for me. When you sit in a 'Vette you are excitied, you have the 8 cylinder rumblin. You sit in a Impreza there really isn't anything exciting about it. And the Vette deosn't need turbos to break 200 HP.

  • Your just to boneheaded to think outside the box to look at anything other than an STI. Hatchbacks look like shit, the only Asian cars I would own are Nissans. They actually make driver's cars. And I'm not biased I hate most tuner cars the same. If you like putting turbos under the hood to get 200 HP that's fine with me, you will never see me doing that shit.
