Thank You. =) Yeah, she does great with most everything, so it took me by surprise the other day when out of the blue she crow-hopped and gave an enormous violent buck! I never saw that one coming! She didn't swish her tail, or pin her ears, or anything. I was shocked at how high she launched, I hadn't thought she was that powerful. She didn't do it again, just walked right on as if nothing had happened & I never figured out what made her do it! lol!
That's a possibility, there are a ton of wasps around here. I'm scared of getting stung though, so if I saw a wasp I would have probably screamed and thrown myself off of her so I could run away. ha ha ha
I got stung last month by a Yellowjacket on an endurance ride right on my right leg near the knee. Of course it was like at mile 15 and I was riding 100 miles that day. I'm allergic to, I took 1 Benadryl and I was like all loopie and groggy for 4-5 hours after that :>( but I finished the ride :>)
Nasdaq is such a good horse! She was great! I wish we had a bridge like that around here so I could teach Triskit to go over a bridge but we don't have any like that around here unless you want to go 1/2 into town and then take a busy bridge full of cars, which may not be so safe for her first time on a bridge. Great job, I can't get over how fast she is leanring! It took Triskit months to be able to go on her first trail ride.
Thanks! When Nasdaq crossed the bridge she put her nose all the way down so she could look through the cracks at the road way down below, and she was so interested in looking through those cracks that she didn't pay attention to how close her nose was so she accidentally got a splinter in it. It was a big splinter, bigger than a toothpick! It left quite a big hole in her nostril when I pulled it out. Silly Nasdaq!
Thank you! :) You don't have any water or bridges that are accessable on horseback? I want to take my horses swimming, but the water isn't deep enough. We've got a couple of lakes nearby that would be deep enough, but horses aren't allowed there.
pfft...what kind of person wouldn't allow horses...anywhere? lol Anyway yep no water around here except for the occasional stream, but those are all on someone's property. (I'm in Nevada, so water is kindof a rarity) Good job with Nasdaq, she sure looks like a gem. And keep the videos coming!
Yeah...I'd have to agree with you on that since I allowed a horse in my house! LOL! I know what you mean about water being a rarity. It's high desert where I live. I'm fortunate that trail is like an oasis!
Yeah you are right, riding in shorts really sucks! I didn't want to to go swimming in long pants, and I figured riding in shorts would be better than riding in a bathing suit. If only I had known that the river was too low to swim in, it would have saved me the pain of riding in shorts! lol.
OH MAN!!! riding in a bathing suit would be torture! but, getting your pants soaking wet wouldn't have been much better. I might do the same thing if i was going to ride in water all day.
that is so sweet, she LOVED the water:) it`s cute to watch her play in it..you did a GREAT job starting her under saddle

Holy cow that must have been awful!! I'm allergic to them too. I doubt I'd be tough enough to finish a ride if I got stung. You are very tough!

What a good horse! You have two things I would love to play with on horseback - water and bridges!

The part that sucks is once you leave the water and have to ride back in damp shorts or bathing suit! lol.
