  • Wait a minute... When your opponent uses Explosion to defeat your last Pokémon, doesn't that mean YOU WIN?

  • @DBCDude01 No, not in online PBR.

  • epic! nuff said

  • it looks like kangaskhan is dancing T.T

  • That Shiftry really had some odd moves-- I would see it knowing Razor Leaf at a lower level, but on PBR???

That Explosion I really thought was incredible though!

And why not use Transform Ditto into Shifrty just in case it pulls out another grass move? Wouldn't it have been more effective to have a matchup where Shiftry would have an attack that doesn't affect you as much?

  • @zacheatstacos You have to think in terms of the offensive as well as the defensive. A Ditto can withstand hits like a beast once it uses Transform, but it's not going to be very useful unless it can also contribute to knocking stuff out.

  • @Overhazard I see your point there... But does Ditto copy its opponents stats then too? I thought It would keep its regular stats but just take the moves, and Dittos tend to not have the best stats.

  • @zacheatstacos Ditto copies the target Pokémon's stats.

  • anyone else notice that "sakura blossoms" is the name of a naruto episode...

  • @ClefairyRox They just used the same pun; that's all.

  • xD i fold , i think that guy is cool because he likes poker

  • notice that before kangaskan uses hammer arm on froslass, her baby falls out of her pouch, bad parenting.

  • @Overhazard

    wait im confused

wen u used fake out on the froslass

isnt froslass a ghost type pokemon and ghost type pokemon arent affected by normal type moves such as fake out?

  • @thechurromaniac This is the effect of the ability "Scrappy." It allows Kangaskhan to hit Ghosts with Normal and Fighting attacks.

  • @Overhazard So with Kangaskhan's ability, does it mean Spiritomb and Sableye have weaknesses?

  • @HamM09101 Yes, they can be hit for super-effective damage with Fighting-type attacks.

  • ultimate draw!!!!

  • Overhazard, i've got a liking on your female Abomasnow (in japanese, my maternal language, abomasnow is translated to "Snow King")^^

I've got still one question to you: Why are there soo many special Aboasnows? It seems to me like mine is the only physical one at all...

  • @Fureiba I'm not sure about that, because Abomasnow is also quite effective as a physical attacker, backed up by Wood Hammer and Avalanche. I think it's because the Hail gives Blizzard full accuracy.

The "oh" part means "king," right? Just as how Yu-Gi-Oh! means "king of games"?

  • @Overhazard @Overhazard

    Yes it does^^

Well i made mine only a physical because (sorry) i was inspired by yourChoice Scarf Rampardos and his adamant nature, so i gave him Wood Hammer (Strong Attack), Brick Break (since hes now pretty fast using him as the Barrier breaker, Earthquake ( to surprise and counter fire Type users) and (since he's fast) Ice Punch for STAB. Do you think it's good, cause it works out pretty good for me

  • @Fureiba It sounds like you know what you're doing.

  • awesome vid great ending

  • Wow! I just loved the ending for that!

  • What happened to the good old days when you couldnt pull a desperate draw from an explosion?

  • @cat2cube People have been doing that since Generation 1. I don't see what the problem is here.

  • @Overhazard i could have sworn that would make you lose if both were at their final, my bad

  • @cat2cube Nope, it's always resulted in a tie. The exceptions are Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Stadium 2, Pokémon Colosseum, and the single-player mode of Pokémon Battle Revolution, where there's a special rule.

But by default, it would result in a tie for both players.

  • 0:36 and 5:00

    watch the poor baby xD

  • why do you keep changing your look, man? i liked your look in this vid. dont change it.

  • @Montagone What do you mean? The Trainer models are always the same from team to team. I rarely ever change them. I simply use a variety of different teams. If you like the appearance of one of the Trainer models, then you shoul watch videos corresponding to that team.

  • The exchange of passes is automatic. I don't see where you got your conclusion.

  • Woah, such an intense battle. I didnt expect that shiftry would make a certain loss into a tie =D

  • wow that was some battle! shiftry went to a HUGE measure to tie!

  • actually kangaskhan isnt the only one with scrappy;miltank can have it too i think

  • I know Miltank has it.

  • @Overhazard i said that because in the description you said that kangakhan was the only one

  • I said that Kangaskhan is the only one able to use Fake Out on a Ghost Pokémon. Miltank can't learn Fake Out.

  • @Overhazard ohhhhh lol i gotcha,my bad

  • Lopunny punched kangaskhan's baby in the face!

  • its cool how the referee can talk. But the trainer and the pokemon should and that will be so cool. Its cute when pickachu say "pika, pika" :) Good game

  • ok i am not great on pokemon

  • hammer arm is a figth attack and froslass are a ghost?

  • Kangaskhan has the ability Scrappy, which allows her to hit Ghost Pokémon with Normal and Fighting moves.

  • WOW that explosion caught me off guard i thought you had this one in the bag!

  • OMFG...GR8 MATCH!!

  • breathtaking

  • LOL .... u two sure awesome

  • Well that ended with a boom.

  • Wow, Kangaskhan's name is Adelaide. I totally get the reference here.

  • OMG. . . Lopunny punched Adelaide's baby! And to think that Froslass is the one named Cruella. . .

  • Sequoia? What a random nickname!

  • Sequoia is a real first name though.

  • It's a really big tree isn't it? Like the biggest...? I don't know. :L

  • Yes, it is. Some of them are hundreds of years old.

  • Wow. :O

  • I was for a word in the dictionnary for something at school. I came across Seqouia and found out it was a big tree located in Southern Calfornia. Coincedence, huh?

  • You've never heard of a sequoia tree before?

Also, sequoia trees grow in northern California. They exist in southern California, but not in large amounts like they do up north.

  • I don't know much about the U.S. lol

I heard that there so big, on highways, cars could pass under them. Is this true?

  • Well, all right then. Even outside the USA, they're famous for being the world's largest living things and arguably some of the oldest. They live for thousands of years.

Yes, a few of them are so big that you can carve tunnels in them big enough for a car to pass through. It kills the tree, however, so it's only done as a novelty and for trees that died naturally.

  • I'll look them up to see them. I also hear that they're in Vancouver, but that's probably another tree.

  • wow never saw a draw before

  • what type of camera do you use

  • I don't use a camera. I use a video capture device. It records straight from the Wii.

  • how can i get a device like that

  • There are many different kinds. You should probably do your own searching for one that works for you.

  • how come kangaskans fake out worked on froslass. i thought froslass was a ghost and ice type. how come it still hits?

  • Remember what Kangaskhan's abilities are.

  • i noticed that a few of the pokemon on a couple of your other teams have been bumped up to OU. Are you going to restructure those teams, or keep them as they are?

  • Whether or not they're OU is of no concern to me. I pick Pokémon that I like.

  • Okay. I guess I got the wrong idea from the fact you use lesser-used pokemon, thinking that it's all you use.

  • yea i know it was scrappy i was thinking of another move at that time

Fake Out is a normal type move

  • I was just wondering, what do people generally think of dragonite being used on wifi?

  • Dragonite is a perfectly fair Pokémon to use.

  • nice match ^^

  • Ditto's nickname is win.

Man, Froslass has a really cool cry .. kind of creepy. XD

  • Well you didn't do badly, don't get me wrong it was a great watch. It was more overhazard was the better this time, mostly due to the oversight on Fake out vs. Froslass and that set you back considerably, when its only 4 pokemon a side such things are very costly. It was a minor mistake I think a lot of people would have made.

Generally I do stand by the 'if you use explosion to force a draw, you lose' rule. I might keep an eye out for a rematch with different pokemon if there is to be one.

  • Hahah. I'm surprised no one has complained.

In the Pokemon "tournaments" I've entered if you use Explosion/Self Destruct as your final move it's a lose for you, since you're not allowed to end the match in a draw. It's the Self-KO Clause.

  • I'd assume that other methods that end in a draw will give the win to whoever goes next, in that case, as Explosion and Self-Destruct are not the only ways to end the game in a draw. Destiny Bond can too; as well as the Life Orb or any attack with self-inflicting damage.

  • Yeah, Destiny Bond counts under Self-KO Clause. A draw resulting from recoil or Rough Skin or Aftermath or Burn/Poison damage would count as a legitimate draw, I guess, and would call for a re-match.

  • I guess so.

  • how do you level up pokemon

  • Over Pokémon Battle Revolution, you don't.

  • Really? I've heard otherwise from nearly every website.

  • Doesn' t Hammer Arm have no effect on ghost type pokemon?

Or is it because of Scrappy? I thought Scrappy only allows normal type moves to hit

  • Scrappy allows both Normal and Fighting moves to hit Ghost Pokémon.

  • wow, a draw? Naruto xD.

  • Wow, that Shiftry definitely was the MVP of the battle!

  • Does every Kangaskhan have the ability Scrapppy? I've seen loads of wi-fi recently..

  • Kangaskhan's other ability is Early Bird. I don't think it suits Kangaskhan's fighting style as well as Scrappy, but rest assured...eventually, I will employ Early Bird to good use.

  • sweet battle

  • I'm guessing Octogeddon doesn't have Platinum because other than Seed Bomb, Razor Leaf's Shiftry's only physical move.

    Great match.

  • i think he does due to luxray knowing superpower

  • Yeah, I just figured it out. lol. Thanks.

  • no prob

  • That was an incredible battle, it had me on the edge of my seat!

  • Whoa! Explosion was an unexpected plot twist.

  • Really good battle. You both used some really cool strategies. And yeah that just goes to show you how moves like icy wind and razor leaf can really work nicely in a pinch.

  • I have all snorlax team called boom baby that I used online a lot! One snorlax used protect while the other used explosion and vise versa, the one that protected exploded while the next protected and so on and so forth.

  • That's the first time I've seen Ditto on Battle Revolution. XD

  • Nice Battle Guys ! i Don't see Draws to much in this Game . the ending of this battle is cool, good job 5/5

  • Great battle and great ending

  • Overhazzard, 2 things to say

    1. Your quality is excellent, how'd you record?

    2. Are you, by any chance, a naruto fan?

  • No, the title has nothing to do with Naruto.

  • So, you aern't a naruto fan?

  • I read Naruto, but I wouldn't call myself a fan.

The title is in reference to actual sakura blossoms.

  • I see, thats fine then

btw, your quality is excellent, how'd you record?

  • hey i was planing on makeing a special double battle porygon z

    item: choice scarf

    moves:

    -trick

    -blizzard

    -swift

    -discharge

full sp. attack and speed what do you think of it ? answer pleese;-)

  • Swift is getting to the point where its power is so low its not worth using. Tri-Attack would be better, and you need a reliable STAB move anyway.

  • porygon is supporting double battle with those moves my point was to make pokemon that always attacks 2 targets with adaptability swift always attacks 2 pokemon with power of 80 per target like discharge and blizzard and what do you think about held item choice scarf or specs whitch would be better

  • Actually, it's only 60 power per target. Swift's base power of 60 is doubled to 120, (adabtability) then halved to 60 per target.

  • i ve checked on bulbapedia and it sez that damage is 75% per target

  • well i thought about tri attack but it only hits one target

  • IMO, moves that hit multiple targets are only worth it if they either:

-have a base power of 100 or above. (otherwise, when halved it becomes too low to make a difference)

-Or have some special effect (Discharge paralyzing, Icy Wind lowering speed, Razor Leaf's critical hit ratio, etc)

I just thought your moveset was in need of a core STAB move, because your other have serious disadvantages (Disvharge hits your partner, Blizzard has bad accuracy)

  • Razor Leaf is good, since it's pretty much the only physical attack to hit both opponents (apart from Rock Slide, Selfdestruct, and Explosion)

  • well it worked out 2 pokemon gone down with one hit it would be impossible with seed bomb

  • Epic ending! 2 Nidokings vs 1 Shiftry.

  • WOAH! That was an awesome loss. XD

  • Now that was a good battle and did you EV traned ditto in Speed?

  • n i have a question, how come u chose nidoking over nidoqueen?

  • I was curious as to what I could do with Nidoking. Nidoqueen will come later. Probably much later.

  • Nidoking is my favourite Pokemon. It's so versatile as well :)

I have like, 6 of them. You can do anything with it.

  • wow shifty jus obliterated ur team in 2 turns for the most part :O lol XD epic match

  • wait, fake out cant hit frosslass! it is a ghost type!

  • ...Fail.

  • fake out is a normal type move,it's kangashkans ability, scrappy, which allows it to hit ghost with normal and fighting type moves.

    So yeah...

  • Kangaskhan has the ability scrappy, which lets normal type moves hit ghosts, just as if Foresight or Odor Sleuth were used.

  • if it was,that wouldn't make it a good ditto,sort of.

Cuz quick powder only works on ditto, and acording to some test and research, the effect of the item wears off after it transforms, cuz the item doesn't identify the new form as ditto,=/

    I would put life orb,or something,and use him in doubles,to make a double threat,=P

  • Ditto is indeed holding Quick Powder. I left in my selecting Ditto after Kangaskhan was knocked out to show its hold item.

And Quick Powder is working wonderfully for me. It's all a matter of being able to take that first hit and about transforming into a Pokémon that can get by without its Hold Item.

  • Wow. Explosion to tie?... -_- At least your opponent was determined not to lose. Well, if you even consider that a tie.

  • I think Exploding to a draw is considered a legitimate battling strategy. After all, Smogon isn't the PokéGospel. If it's a tie, it's a tie.

  • Fine, to each their own. Though I don't know what Smogon has to do with this...

  • I'm all for not considering smogon as the pokegospel but this rule was in stadium 1 and 2. It just got adapted into competitive play in consequence.

If one trainer used self destruct/explosion they would always lose by default even if they fainted the other person's pokemon.

It's better this way, it's a bit cheap to force a tie in this manner, especially cus I felt overhazard had played very well with Kangaskhan and Abomasnow early on and really deserved the win here.

  • Really? I never owned Pokémon Stadium 1 or 2, so I didn't know that. You learn something new every day, I suppose. XD

  • Yeah a lot people haven't and have missed out on quite a few of the rules that were put into competitive play that were in stadium 1 and 2, like sleep clause (only one pokemon can be forcibly put to sleep, using rest doesn't count)

As a whole though stadium 1 and 2 were much better polished games and were made to appeal to a variety of people, from casual people to hardcore trainers, they also very rarely used ubers

  • Huh, and here I thought the Sleep Clause was just implemented by battlers who were fed up with their opponents putting their entire teams to sleep. (See also: Darkrai)

  • Yeah, you should pick up stadium 1 and/or 2 somewhere, its really worth a play through even with rentals. Any non uber pokemon can be rented, not just the ones the game gives you something else that is sadly lacking in the modern game.

Other rules included item clause as mentioned (can't use the same item more than once) and in addition to the self destruct rule, destiny bond and perish song always fail if used on the last pokemon. Think that is all aside the obvious (species clause).

  • If I can rent a Nintendo 64 too, then I'll definitely do that.

  • Nice win! Abomasnow really put the smack down on Octodeggon there for a little bit, then his Shiftry got some pay-back.

I like your Abomasnow's nickname too. I was going to name mine (if I raise one), Sherman (based off of General Sherman the supposedly tallest redwood and/or tree.)

  • return FAIL at 3:25

  • Your Nidoking's name is almost the same as mine! Just remove the 'o' at the end. :D

  • that name is from naturo sakura blossoms is a real esp so nice!

  • To be honest, I wasn't even aware there was an episode by that name. This was a pun I created myself.

  • I remember the episode back during the extremely short time when I watched Naruto. The episode focused on Sakura not being a complete Mary Sue for ten whole minutes.

    (The More You Know!)

  • Sakura was ever a Mary Sue? I thought she's always just tossed aside until Sasori fights her.

  • I dunno, she kinda struck me as a Mary Sue at first. Then again, I haven't watched more than a season or two...

  • I can't believe Kanga's baby fell out in the beginning! :O

But anyway, Mobius is also the name of the Time Streamer in the legacy of Kain series with is why my dialga is named that. lol

  • Focus Sash win!

  • frosslass is ghost how can he be hurt by fake out ?

  • Scrappy allows Normal Pokemon to hit Ghost Pokemon

  • oh yhea i saw

  • Bc of the scrappy ability.

  • You are totally right! I think Fake Out has the abillity to always hit. I spectate the effects even can go through ghost types..

  • no no, kangashkan has the ability scrappy. which allows it to hit ghost types with normal and fighting type moves.

  • WOW i Tough that sihftry was a goner at the end

  • well i know most of the moves now.

Kangaskhan: Fake out, Hammer arm, Return

    Abamsnow: Icy Wind, Blizzard, Protect

    Ditto: Transform

    Nidoking: poison jab

    Latias: ThunderBolt, Helping Hand

  • i leik ur vids, ima subscribe :3

  • I think Cruella comes from the Cruella Devil on Dalmatians[can't spell right]?

  • Im pretty sure its Cruella Deville, but that is still one of the coolest nicknames for a pokemon I've ever seen!

  • The coolest is WhiteWitch which I gave to my Froslass.^^

  • In fact, the spelling is "Cruella DeVil."

  • like always ur matches r very interesting to watch .. the end rlly shocked me, i rlly taught he was done for ...

  • EPIC Shiftry.

  • Nice match its like the 4th vid of pbr with a draw i think. didnt expect shiftry with razor leaf and i guess you can say octogeddons comeback was almost complete but at least he didnt lose lol. but man tough way to end a good match. just couldnt finish him off. i really thought you would have focus sash on eitehr your ditto or nidoking. if one of them did have it you would have won this match

  • I observe the Item Clause. As you can see here, Abomasnow has the Focus Sash. Therefore, none of my other Pokémon could have it.

Plausibly, I could have switched someone out with Ditto and have it copy Froslass, though I didn't know what this Shiftry would do.

  • Item clause is 3 of a single type of item. It's only 1 on PBR.

  • Is the limit 3 on Smogon?

  • Nah, it was pretty universal. Then again, I haven't touched competitive play for about a year, so it may have changed.

  • Okay. I refer to PBR's Item Clause, of course, as I design them to be usable in its single-player mode. Nintendo's official tournamens also forbids players from using more than 1 of the same hold item.

I assume most Smogonites don't use any sort of Item Clause. I see Sandstorm teams stocked to the brim with Leftovers, for instance.

  • I know that Focus Sash has some specific rule attached. Can't remember what it was. 2 per team or something, I think.

  • Comment removed

  • That was a really fun battle to watch! Great job, guys.

  • so now you can actually have a draw?

  • Great battle!

  • I really like Icy Wind in Doubles, I think it should be used a lot more.

  • That was quite the ending, I must admit, Octogeddon from 4-1 down managing to take the draw.

I was very much surprised that your Nidoking didn't KO Shiftry with Poison Jab however, I wonder if your Nidoking is perhaps mixed, but I guess I'll have to wait to find out in another battle if it is.

  • I don't think I've ever seen a draw in PBR.

    Excellent battle from both sides.

  • intense battle, I didn't expect this match to be a draw until shiftry exploded at the end. I'm also shocked by how shiftry ko'ed both of your pokemon. Razor Leaf on that pokemon is rare..

  • when kangaskhan attacks her baby falls off the bag

    ...lol...

  • Razor Leaf on Shiftry in doubles is situational...Seed Bomb is generally a better option.

However, in this battle, if your opponent did not utilize it, they would have lost.
