  • Comment removed

  • Like this (= The South Bronx part 3 ?

  • anyone know the name of this song / artist.. great video btw... thanks stbny

  • @rbssixnations dennis greene - great escape

  • What's today reality of Bronx? Am I really dead after while I enter? Why all of those houses looks like after war? Can someone explain me this?

  • @adam1199083 Today is quite a bit safer than it was back in the 70s/80s. I taught in a public school in the Bronx for a couple years. Visually it looks a lot better, but out of most places in the city, it's still tops in most dangerous. But like I said, not nearly as bad as then.

  • @blitzvodka I'm really looking foward to it. I hope I can find more clean footages.

  • @STBNY Search Bronx is Burning FDNY thats alot of great clips

  • @ExorFILMS Thanks, Man! I found it. I'll watch it soon.

  • @STBNY Please create one new!, Can you rate in percent how done you are?

  • for immigrants coming to america we had no money and no place to go, we went to the bronx because thats all we could afford, ill tell u people look after their own when you live there, my mother never has a word of hate or remorse about the south bronx. it may look like shit but the people didnt make it that and didnt live that way for the most part shit even young bangers helped her carry groceries give up their seats on bus when she took us kids out and made sure we didnt get hassled

  • back in the days when NYC was a real city.... not the gentrified yuppified disneyworld shithole for hipsters it is today

  • jesus. it looks like the landlords just burnt literally every building to the ground. ridiculous.

  • @saintbeast24 It was not the landlords who were at fault but the careless behavior of the tenants.

  • @MrFredGoldstein lol just like a jew to say that,ok ''MR GOLDSTEIN'',YOUR PEOPLE HAD ALOT TO DO WITH IT ALSO.......

  • @ronduenyc The Jewish landlords had nothing to do with the fires although anti-Semites such as yourself will always blame the Jews.We did our best to provide affordable clean and safe housing to low income minorities.Big mistake considering they burnt down most of the buildings with their overloading of the circuits done by their boom-boxes.

  • @MrFredGoldstein You've got to admitt. When there is trouble. You people always happen to be right on the spot. We all know who is the boss of the FedRes now do we ? Ben Shalom Bernanke. And we have the same stuff here in Europe: Sarkozy, Rosenthal, Cohen, pro-Israel Wilders. I am sure it's all just a perfect little coincidence. As always.

  • @AmersfoortTristan It has nothing to do with coincidence, but what it has to do with is -good business savvy and the fact that we are good speakers as well as politicians. You would blame "Jews" if you got a damn cold you anti-Semitic piece of crap!

  • @ronduenyc That's always the case.

  • @MrFredGoldstein yeah.. the tenants burned the building down to collect insurance money. makes a lotta sense.. not.

  • @MySugarWallz The tenants burned the buildings down in oreder for the government to provide more subsidized housing projects. The landlords had provided adequate and affordable housing but it was not appreciated due mostly from the anti-semitic feelings of the predominant catholic tenants.

  • @MrFredGoldstein You are SUCH A LIAR. No wonder nobody like Jews. People like you give the whole lot a bad name.

  • @MySugarWallz Take your anti-Semitic drivel elsewhere. Go jump off a cliff you racist piece of shit.

  • @MrFredGoldstein I'm not "anti-semitic." I don't care about anybody's Jewishness. I am anti-liar.

  • @MySugarWallz You clearly are and have made it abundantly clear that you are a anti-Semite.

I have not lied but stated the facts as I witnessed them and have first hand knowledge from many of the landlords who are dear friends.

The tenants were responsible for the arsons not the landlords.

  • @MrFredGoldstein You are an utter scumbag liar and Jews like you give everybody else a bad name. And save your "anti-semite" blah blah blah. You are probab;y not even truly Semitic. Your ancestry is probably Russian or somewhere else in Europe. LOL

I don't care about any religion. All religions suck - including Judaism. But liars and land thieves suck worse than anybody else. Scum of the earth.

  • @MrFredGoldstein What you are saying doesn't even make logical sense. An 8 year old could see through that lie.

  • @1ResearchLady Sorry but what I stated was nothing but the truth based on facts.

I have friends that are landlords who owned property in the Bronx. The tenants caused the fires by overloading the circuits with their boomboxes and air conditioners. They were irresponsible and cause alot of grief to the owners and fellow tenants.

  • With this comment, I transmit my minute speck of anger against the great crumbling towers of global finance capital, to annul its endless voracity & sprout cooperation from its dog eat dog mountain of slaves' bones. In these 500 characters, I reclaim the forgotten billions of collateral bodies in their child mills, prisons, highways of abandoned, sludge river cities of refuse. I restore to the beaten, poisoned mass of struggling aborted cultures dignity with my minute of desperate, isolated ire.

  • that time wen there was still some honor in the bx

  • @JakeMansonNYC People on welfare are usually not scumbags. But I agree with the rest of what you said,up to the part about committing violence, which I don't like. But, yeah, antisemitic insults are insults and people shouldn't insult people.

  • One does not simply walk into the South Bronx, it's bridges are guarded by more than just squatters, there is evil there that does not sleep,

  • @Doomhammer15 they couldve came from westchester

  • oh shittt ha :v

  • To think this is where Hip Hop was born... I'm watching an interview with Russell Simmons right now and thinking of all the Hip Hop success stories and how most of them came from here... How Hip Hop itself started in the midst of all of that... You have to respect Hip Hop Music...

  • @lonnyg773 Word.

  • None of you dickheads know how to spell. Lol

  • @JakeMansonNYC I'm back.. I was on vacation. Just checking my mail... I saw ur profile. u r not handsome @ all. U look like a Parot, no a Tukan!!!!, 1 of those big beak birds.. I know u have 2 spend lots of money 2 get n a girls pants. U have the nerve 2 have ur shirt off. U look like a bootley athelete. That is so juvenile... U have a half of dozen of our own vids; babbling about nothing. With a total of maybe 200 hits. Nobody cares what the ugly wanna be mocho JEW is sayin'!

  • @JakeMansonNYC You sound like a dirty JEW.. Yeah, Charlie Sheen is right, I c what he is talking about now... Now i c y Mr. Sheen and other who look like him "ARE WINNING". They expose, the dirty jews, like you..... Koch wasn't even in office in the 90's.. David Dinkins was. eary 90's and late' 80's.. U can spread that propaganda Koch 2 ppl who believe that; but i know better..

  • @ftnrbhmwk Now now now, this leads to such retorts from Jews such as "schvartzer", which is Yiddish for "dirty black person". The problem is that insults such as the above lead to nonsense such as what happened in Crown Heights years ago. Whatever happened to respect for others?

  • @Rickyrab I saw in American Justice about some DIRTY JEWS that beat up and killed a black kid for dating a jewish girl and Bensonhurst. WATCH IT..JEW.. i BETblack PPL IN BROOKLYN NEVER FORGET THAT.... THANK GOG 4 A & E... CHARLIE SHEEN, AND MEL GIBSON... THEY NOW THE TRUTH ABOUT YOU.. I try to take up 4 jews in highschool. NOT anymore!!! White Christians showed me the light... Get the fuck out of hear..Crown heights...BENSONHURST... NEVER 4GET!!!!!!

  • In addition, the Bronx was once the JEWISH borough.... it ought to have stayed Jewish... we're not quite as dirty as the occupants that followed us. :-p

  • @Rickyrab Hey Ricky, it's that kind of thought that led to the formation of the first ghettos. You do realize that Jews were relegated to ghettos in Germany and other occupied territories in the years of the Third Reich? They were called "dirty" and "vermin" also. So I think that you'd be better served if you checked your history before you start uttering things that expose your shallowness and ignorance. :-)

  • @Rickyrab Get off the page u dirty jew b4 I sike MEL GIBSON, AND CHARLIE SHEEN, AND 100's of MILLIONS OF OTHERS WHO LOOK N THINK LIKE THEM..Ur the ones who came to ELLIS ISLAND, n moved 2 the 5 points, n started selling SMACK n NYC way b4 the blacks n hispanics even thought about hustling. Playin craps n alleyways. This was n the 20's.Poor Trash Dirty Jews from trashy part of European neighborhoods; n come 2 the U.S. n tried 2 put blacks down, cuz whites gentiles dont even like u. YEAH..EXACTLY

  • @ftnrbhmwk Mayor Koch came into office in 1977. But the rot had set in during the late 1960s but it's not like Koch seems to have made all that much of a difference excepting for plunging people further into poverty and telling to them "work".

  • @AmersfoortTristan neither did dinkens... so whats ur point.???.. I said mayor giuliani clean up NYC....

  • @JakeMansonNYC It wasn't Ed Koch; it was Mayor Giuliani in 1994.. He clean up New York, An Italian. When Koch was running NYC, Manhattan had rows, and rows, of peep shows down Time Square in the 70's and 80's. 85% of NCY were slums. Koch and Reaganomic put NYC cities and the country into a ression. Remove 75% of the UNIONS, therefore; big company and corporations left overseas! Koch (bank brokers), wallstreet,(JEWS); is the reason y the U.S. is in debt. Stop sayin lies out of ur mouth. LIER!!!!

  • what the name of this song

  • @willyB128 Dennis Greene - Great Escape 1976 Song! Its on youtube! love this joint!~

  • I lived in the south bronx up until I was 25. I was born in rasied there! 1979 to 2004 . The bronx was not the only borough facing hard times. Brooklyn and harlem had the same problems. I wouldent change where I was raised for nothing in the world. I learned alot growing up there. Great video.. I was rasied in the morrisania section. Was I poor yes! Was I happy yes! Am I proud of where I am from Yes!

  • It was poor back then but I bet it felt more like a community than it does now. People are so into themselves these days, they forget about each other.

  • South Bronx is not USA, is not New York, its an own Place, its stateless, its the Zulu Nation for all Races, an own galaxis!!

    South Bronx, south, south bronx!!!

  • @FCAopium It seems like you haven't been to the South Bronx lately. A lot has changed. There are no more vacant lands. New buildings are being built and old ones are renovated. Believe me. I grow up in the South Bronx. More diversity then before.

  • I can't understand why there is this nastalgia for the NYC of the seventies and eighties. The landlords burned down their properties because they wouldn't be allowed to recoup the cost of repairs or improvements because of rent control. The ctiy was so broke that the only buyers of municipal debt were the unions who stood to lose if the city filed for bankrupcy. This is what capital flight looks like. If Obama gets reelected you might get to revisit your childhood.

  • @solidgolddick because hip hop was born in the bronx

  • @solidgolddick

I don't think it's so much nostalgia for the living conditions in the South Bronx 30+ years ago as it is for the cultural movement that was emerging from that part of the city as a reaction to the surrounding blight and ceaseless violence.

  • @solidgolddick Nostolgia exists because people grew up back then. And Obama has nothing to do with capital flight. That particular barn door was left open long before Obama and the horse had already bolted.

  • @solidgolddick You ignorantly believe it was rent control that caused industrial fallout & unions that caused capital flight. You're dead wrong. It was the fact that workers were given no housing equity & their wages so rock bottom that caused there to be a tax base & dilapidation problem in the 1st place. That, & landlords' duties were unenforced by ultra corrupt city mgmt. Trade agreements drove the industry & jobs out to other vast child slave army depots, not unions, fool.

  • @musicalidea in relative terms wages were higher for workers than they are now and housing costs were lower as share of income (if housing could be found). Most of the information that I cited came from a documentary I saw on CNBC that was produced by the BBC. You do have a point about trade agreements leading to fewer industrial jobs in the U.S.. But if you compare the cost of doing business in NYC to other locations it's at a cost disadvantage.

  • i lived their in the bronx till i was 14, then my family moved cross country to the rural mid west in the early ninties i hated my new high school and hated it until i graduated i was so mad at my folks for leaving the city hell i coulda lived with my aunty or something, but still they won and i lost havent been back would like to go back, Clint

  • This is all George Bush's fault

  • @ghostofjackie he wasnt even president then dumbass

  • Bronx is state of mind

  • Lots of good choices for footage. You really cannot beat Fort Apache or Stations of the Elevated, both classics!

  • At 1:03 Mario Van Peebles running and getting beat up and robbed lmao

  • Stop at 4:20...Can somebody Please tell me the address to where those two buildings are.....I used to live there as a kid

  • @ShadowXFX1 You're in luck. The building in the front is 1801 Crotona avenue. Between Crotona Park North and East 175th Steet.

  • @STBNY Searched Google earth...Just like I remember it...Thank you!!!

  • @ShadowXFX1 Hey no problem :D

  • @STBNY how did it get like this. it looks more dustier then ma ass hole

  • @blaby4ever Economy went bad for NYC in the 1970s and is caused building owners to burn down buildings for money. They paid gangs to help them. We may go through it again...Nationwide.

  • @STBNY yes especally with the illuminati behind this

  • @blaby4ever And it's coming fast. I just wish my friends were wide awake. They think I'm crazy when I tried to inform them about what's going to happen.

  • I still live on Beck Street between Legget Avenue and Avenue St. John to this day.

  • Fuckin amazing vid...so important as well...Pt 1 and 2 are very special.

  • South Bronx = The land that time forgot!

  • My god that was amazing!

  • those where the days, a 18 year old boy from mexico, when the aparment was free, but the landlords never gave a fuck and burnt the buildings, when the puerto ricans & dominicans where nice, humble, people, but times changed but it wasn't that messy, walk the whole 3rd avenue, webster ave, i remember the school burning at yankee stadium, as i remember in 1977...

  • @FernyBass007 nice comment.. i totally respect mexicans. many work so hard but make little money. there are still dominicans (like myself) and puerto ricans who still have respect. but i do see that typical ones are very rude and disrespectful thinking they're better than another. im just glad im not one of them.

  • @STBNY what's the name of this movie in the begining, i love the BX my old hood (boston rd, 168st ), jackson ave, jumel, and 3rd ave

  • This is the real South Bronx. The one that I grew up in today it' aint nothing like that. It is all fixed up. I go grocery shopping now where all those burn't out buildings used to be and I live in Hunts Point and they chased most of the ho's away. But it brings back alot of good memories and I remember hearing that song way back when but don't know who did it. Thanks for posting.

  • Amazing music in this part 2 and the previous (part 1) video and you can see the environment in which the ideas for the music came from really! Fantastic stuff. Great up.

  • @TheJbraw LOL... Denny Greene - The Great Escape

  • @TheJbraw theres LOTS AND LOTS of songs that are unheard of and they sound really good. they must have been underground music. the music industry doesnt give a chance to every song in the world. there could be a new song right now that sounds waaaay better than any other song made tody but gets rejected because they think it will not make money.

  • @TheJbraw Denny Greene - The Great Escape. You can find an MP3 of it at the Beat Electric blog.

  • what's the name of the song? I love it!
