Dear Silverfox, thank you for sharing. These days this song has a special meaning for me because the life of my life has only a couple of days to live.....We found each other again after 22 years but had just six months....Gene will always be the one to comfort me......
I havent heard this for time, i was given a copy of it by a guy who looked like acted like in fact could have been uks Gene Vincent thanks Tam cambridge
Gene Vincent was the original rocker, he never went soft as did some others from that era. He is one of my favourites from the 50's and is sadly missed. Rock on Gene
This was about Vietnam in the 1960s (original singer Jim Reeves did not live to see how far this war woudl go) but can now be about Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. When will man learn that war is not the answer?
This is a very hard to find song by Gene Vincent. Gane was the greatest of the original 50´s Rockers. And nobody present or past can or could perform a ballad as Gene. Youre music will live for ever. Thank ypu Gene for all the lovely music.
I too listen to Gene almost every day He is and was loved by so many Fans I truly hope he knows just how much. He and Billy Fury whom Gene knew well and Eddie Cochran, they were the Greatest. A GREAT SOUND IN HEAVEN . Love you Sweet Gene.
This song stayed in my head forever after I played this video. could not get it out of my mind. Im always searching for Gene Vincent songs on U Tube. Lee Loo told me who you were today. I asked about you on my facebook wall yesterday. I still have my Gene Vincent records I bought back in 56 57 58 59.. I put one on my wall on facebook also. The sleeve was gone to it. sad .. We keep his memory alive..
@SilverFoxNo1 I turn Gene!s music on everday. The ones on U tube that I do not have. I listen to here. It is nice people put his songs here.. There was so many I found out from U Tube which I had never heard before.... Some of the ballads I never heard was a treasure to find.. . I was only 15 when Gene made his first recording, Im 67 now and still love this guy.. His fans do him great honor today. He would be so pleased to know it, maybe he does.
@loismbhall Im 67 also. I have my first record today still of Be Bop A Lula.. I have it posted on facebook. I ask lee loo who you were. I could tell you were a big fan.. And love those photos you put on Genes Videos. Some I had never seen, thanks for those also..

Great - but up-tempo or ballad, Gene was one of the best. Thanks for sharing it with us.

"Distant Drums" should have been recorded at "The Day The World Turned Blue"-sessions. It´s sad it wasn´t cause it suited Gene so well.
