I wouldn't say FO3 sucks, but what made FO1 & 2 so great for so many? It was the game meaningfully responding to your choices. Bethesda just can't seem to match that. It's not interesting enough to, say, play FO3 over with a stupid character just to see how the game changes and how people react differently. It's not that big a deal whether you choose lock picking or science in FO3. Diplomacy only gets you so far in FO3, while in FO2 it could completely change the playing field.

The DLC is actually cheap if you buy the special edition game disk, you get everything for a low price that way. And if you dont like 3rd person, why didnt you just play it in 1st person? That's what Bethesda wanted but they included 3rd person to give the gamer more control. Personally I actually agree with you, the only reason I ever use 3rd person is to check what my character is wearing. Bottom line, this game is as close as you're going to get to playing as Mad Max. Point Lookout had the obnoxiously strong inbreds, Broken Steel was great but it didn't fix everything it could've and the story to me felt incomplete since there was no closure for the Lone Wanderer having lost their father. I really enjoyed both regardless and I don't regret buying the game or the DLCs.
