Damn, youre the only person on Youtube covering this song but it's hard to figure out the "cool little weird part" that repeats at the end of the chorus from watching you in the clip...
@scottrap bullethead is by far my favorite unreleased VH tune until the new record that is... i play it the way it was played originally. This is using the atomic punks cover song as backing track. Been playing this tune for years. I wanna re do it with a full band some day.
im so glad they dug up old stuff for the record. i would MUCH rather hear the old unreleased songs redone. new music is way harder to accept for me personally. chinatown has one of the coolest evh solos ive ever heard.
This song would have fit right in on the first two albums, especially the first one. I don't understand why it took until now to finally put this song on record.
For all of you who like the unreleased VH songs from their early years well your wish has come true. VH will release some of them officially on their upcoming album "A Different Kind Of Truth".
Here's what's been unearthed that i know of...
"Tattoo" Early version of "Down In Flames"
"She's The Woman"
and of course "Bullethead"
Time to turn the clocks back friend. Let's do the time warp again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@3tongues yeah i agree, i cant get past the old shit from their club days. thats what i wanna hear. the new single sounds a little too much like the solo DLR stuff
@satchbooggy Perhaps. It rocks, but I also always loved Down In Flames and I hear some of it in the 30 second Tattoo preview!!! Have you heard it? It is on YouTube. I also hope they brought in Young and Bold, We Die Young, Piece of Mind and Big Trouble in some form or other. Those are screaming to see the light of day!
HEY Satcher ! Hows it go ol' bro... this is odd... I guess I'm not a VH fan, I do not knowing this tune... :( Obviously an ol bootleg?? Great sound on this and great job!
some of these demos would have really sounded awesome on an album i think if they added this it wud be perfect for fair warning cuz it just has that dark sounding sound
Efn sweet...are you a pro musician satch? Have you done "We Die Bold"? If not could you pls.? Looks like your shreddin on a $3K EVH guitar(awesome)...So glad I found these Van Halen bootlegs...and your channel. Thank You!
alright dude, what should I do. Buy a used flame green USED wolfgang or a new custom alpine white HP peavey custom shop online build with birdseye maple and a classic chrome floyd rose with chrom mini schallers?
theres a lot of factors haha. for starters...money, condition, looks, features etc. If the wolfie has a floyd i would probably do that one. A white HP sounds sweet ive never seen a white one. The HP's are more balanced to play, (esp sitting down) they have way more tonal options. You cant go wrong with either. They are both incredibly awesome.
Great Job and thanks for getting this version back on Youtube! I think this song will make it on VH next album since the Punks version was suddenly removed. This version is not exact because it has some lyrics that are different, but I still love it. If you want to learn another classic boot that never made to vinyl try "We Die Bold". I'll be back daily for my bullethead fix....Thanks!!
i recorded someones atomic punks version off of you tube. There arent any good van halen versions of this floating around that i know of. My copy sounds pretty rough on cassette.
Great version. Bullethead was also reworked by John Norum into "Half Way Home" on his 1994 'Another Destination' album. An intro was added in the style of VH, lyrics changed, solo screams as good as the original, but no credit was given to VH.
It's great to know VH is like the rest of us hanging on to favorite riffs and eventually using them. With this song you can see the value of a good producer though right? Satch knows VH.
Not sure when exactly he wrote this tune funk but they did play it a few times live early in the VH days. I do know its one of my all time faves. They had their fudes with producers as we all know haha.
the VH version is so cool but there are no good quality recordings of it that i know of so this was the best choice. Dude you know damn well this band could have made 20 albums of nothing but this kinda stuff, thats what bums me out. :)
I was like this is VH? k im a dummy cause i have never heard the song befor ! you so right tho the atomic punks do a great job covering songs ! Such as u did just now . Kick ass riffin bro 5*s RoXOn
great job dude. i swear the atomic punks are as close as you can get to van halen . ralph can really pull of roths voice like no one else. simple amazing.
Nope, don't have it. I only have four boots from them. At the best (Live & Studio from '76-84), Club Days (1976), Magic Mountain (1977), And the whole US Festival from 1983 which I know they didn't play that then LOL.
Damn, youre the only person on Youtube covering this song but it's hard to figure out the "cool little weird part" that repeats at the end of the chorus from watching you in the clip...
