  • Damn, youre the only person on Youtube covering this song but it's hard to figure out the "cool little weird part" that repeats at the end of the chorus from watching you in the clip...

  • @scottrap bullethead is by far my favorite unreleased VH tune until the new record that is... i play it the way it was played originally. This is using the atomic punks cover song as backing track. Been playing this tune for years. I wanna re do it with a full band some day.

  • @satchbooggy Get The Show on the Road is another cool one but it's basically Romeo Delight. You should do a cover of Act Like it Hurts

  • What arte the chords please i really want to play this song

  • im so glad they dug up old stuff for the record. i would MUCH rather hear the old unreleased songs redone. new music is way harder to accept for me personally. chinatown has one of the coolest evh solos ive ever heard.

  • this song is on their new album a different kind of truth and it kicks fuckin ass

  • Start shittin bricks collegehoodiesx !!!!!! lol this is gonna be Awesom LIVE !!!! Ed Is totally spot on with this new album !! cant wait !!

  • ur version is even better!

  • how r u doing that effect at the beginnig of the video

  • they have a preview and IT'S FUCKIN AWESOME. /watch?v=5fuMfxbXjuU

  • Ed said in a Guitar World interview that this was written the same afternoon they wrote Aint Talkin Bout Love, at Dave's house.

  • Maybe on tour we'll get a "The Ballot or the Bullet-Head" medley ...

  • wow...nice job Satchbooggy.....If this song only sounds half as good on the new album as you play it...I'll be happy :)-~

  • bubububububububullethead

bububububbubububad !!!!!! can't wait to hear it on the new cd !!!!!!!!

  • kick ass tune......reminds me of Light Up the Sky.....

  • This song would have fit right in on the first two albums, especially the first one. I don't understand why it took until now to finally put this song on record.

  • had to stop by to see what i have to look forward to on the new album... Great cover of the old, now you'll have 12 new ones to learn :)

  • Awesome playing, man! Where did you get a good clean version of The Atomic Punks playing this song? I can't find that anywhere.

  • For all of you who like the unreleased VH songs from their early years well your wish has come true. VH will release some of them officially on their upcoming album "A Different Kind Of Truth".

Here's what's been unearthed that i know of...

"Tattoo" Early version of "Down In Flames"

    "She's The Woman"

    and of course "Bullethead"

Time to turn the clocks back friend. Let's do the time warp again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It appears that two songs are on the new CD that are from the demo days!! I hope they do a few of dlr solo songs in concert. Love his witty humor!!!!

  • @3tongues yeah i agree, i cant get past the old shit from their club days. thats what i wanna hear. the new single sounds a little too much like the solo DLR stuff

  • @satchbooggy The new single is a song from 1976 as well, called Down In Flames... So you should be stuck on that too. lol

  • @satchbooggy except that the new single is a revamp of an old VH song called Down In Flames, from the old days.

  • @satchbooggy

If you like the old shit from the club days, then this new album will not disappoint!

  • @3tongues

More than two, dude! Outta Space is Let's Get Rockin, Big River is Big Trouble, along with the familiar She's The Woman and Bullethead.

  • This song is on the new record!

  • @collegehoodiesx i will shit a brick if it is

  • @satchbooggy It is. Read all about it at VHND.

  • @rags847 by far the best song they never released

  • @satchbooggy Perhaps. It rocks, but I also always loved Down In Flames and I hear some of it in the 30 second Tattoo preview!!! Have you heard it? It is on YouTube. I also hope they brought in Young and Bold, We Die Young, Piece of Mind and Big Trouble in some form or other. Those are screaming to see the light of day!

  • @satchbooggy this songs on the new album comin out next month!!

  • @satchbooggy

    Its on the new album...

  • @satchbooggy need toilet paper? Chickenshit's second album will do...

  • Reminds me Outta love again

  • Brilliant, can we have "Big Trouble" next please :)

  • This was a really great video. Would you be able to post the studio version of bullethead that you have? Thanks

  • HOLY SHIT thats all i have to say

  • HEY Satcher ! Hows it go ol' bro... this is odd... I guess I'm not a VH fan, I do not knowing this tune... :( Obviously an ol bootleg?? Great sound on this and great job!

    GTO.

  • Outstanding !

  • some of these demos would have really sounded awesome on an album i think if they added this it wud be perfect for fair warning cuz it just has that dark sounding sound

  • Efn sweet...are you a pro musician satch? Have you done "We Die Bold"? If not could you pls.? Looks like your shreddin on a $3K EVH guitar(awesome)...So glad I found these Van Halen bootlegs...and your channel. Thank You!

That Fastway(Say What You Will) kicked ass too.

  • Except for "That's why I love you".

  • they did have a few bummers but anything and everything roth did was excellent from start to finish

  • Thank You! i've never heard that song, i have every album and all. That was fantastic

  • It is an unreleased tune from around 75.

  • they are pretty good but i saw bottoms up and they were the shit they owned every song the did

  • Oooou....unknown to me!?!!?

It is VH song or another?

    Sorry,my english is........ :-(

    5 Staaaaaaars ;-)

  • one of my favorite unreleased tracks, i hope van halen sees all the comments on their unreleased stuff on youtube and decides to make another album

  • Nice job dude.

  • alright dude, what should I do. Buy a used flame green USED wolfgang or a new custom alpine white HP peavey custom shop online build with birdseye maple and a classic chrome floyd rose with chrom mini schallers?

  • theres a lot of factors haha. for starters...money, condition, looks, features etc. If the wolfie has a floyd i would probably do that one. A white HP sounds sweet ive never seen a white one. The HP's are more balanced to play, (esp sitting down) they have way more tonal options. You cant go wrong with either. They are both incredibly awesome.

  • i own a red hp special it pwnes.but i dont know what you would want.the green wolfie sounds cool but white is also awesome

  • NICE JOB!!!!!!

    YOU ROCK!

  • thanks man

  • Awesome bro!!! Why didn't they ever put this out? They have a lot of killer shit that's never been realesed and that's a shame.

  • i agree `100%

  • Great job man! did you record this with a digital studio? if so what did you use.

    great job bro!

  • used a spider 3 into the line in on the computer

  • hey satchbooggy, do you hold the pick between your thumb and middle finger like ed? it looks like you do, thats cool!!

  • for the most part yeah

  • Great Job and thanks for getting this version back on Youtube! I think this song will make it on VH next album since the Punks version was suddenly removed. This version is not exact because it has some lyrics that are different, but I still love it. If you want to learn another classic boot that never made to vinyl try "We Die Bold". I'll be back daily for my bullethead fix....Thanks!!

  • They should've kept the original album name "Bullethead" and actually officially release this number

  • you aint shittin man

  • This song has to be in the new Van Halen record!!!!.

  • @contabilidad03 Thy wish is granted! *POOF!*

  • @contabilidad03 wow 3 years later and your prediction came true.

  • whered u find the mp3 for this!!

  • i recorded someones atomic punks version off of you tube. There arent any good van halen versions of this floating around that i know of. My copy sounds pretty rough on cassette.

  • the live recording?

  • This was probablly written as far back as '76.

Satch, you gotta post "Let's get Rockin'"...

i would, but i lack a camera, at this time.

  • send me the mp3 of it and ill learn it

  • hey satch wht year did the write this song?

  • ...you can hear "Light up the sky" in there....like this was the earlier concept, or something. But I could be wrong....

The main riff and verse sections sound a lot like "Light Up the Sky."

  • Now you've gone and totally ripped my head off.

  • thats not good haha

  • man ... that rocked!

you got a link to a tab or did you pull that out by ear?

  • ear, there is no tab to be found for this one :)

  • early van halen trivia......the riff in the middle of mean street....what song was that in originally?...any takers?

  • "She's the Woman"

  • @mrkrecc06 VOODOO QUEEN

  • Great version. Bullethead was also reworked by John Norum into "Half Way Home" on his 1994 'Another Destination' album. An intro was added in the style of VH, lyrics changed, solo screams as good as the original, but no credit was given to VH.

  • Good song from early VH is Down In Flames. Check it out if you can.

  • This is a great song. Punks played well. I'd Like to see VH put it on their next album(if there is one). Great job man.

  • Good stuff man. Speaking of the Punks I see them everytime they come for the past few years. Love em.

Russ Parrish is now playing those WAYNE guitars. Very sweet.

  • yeah hes been using them for a while. id love to try a wayne but they are too dear for me :( russ is one hell of a talent.

  • wow killer man! AWESOME AS ALWAYS FROM YOU BUD!

  • thanks bud

  • sweet! Now you gotta do some more obscure early VH stuff! :) That is too cool. I think there was one called Voodoo Queen? (partially mean street?)

  • This is a great VH song!! Would have fit in very well on the early albums. Nice playing and sound.

  • thanks a lot man

  • Awesome job. Killer tone. What's your amp and effects like?

  • spider 3, mxr pedals

  • awesome guitar playin.. what amp/effects you using?? sounds sweeetttttt.....

  • Dude, awesomely played!

  • i appreciate that sir

  • i'm sure people have said you're bad ass!

but just in case, you're a bad ass!

    Awesome musicianship bro!

  • ive been called a ton of things (yikes)....so ill take your comment as a really cool compliment man

  • Nice one. Bet this one isn't on the Tube in too many places. Kick ass as always.

  • Was this a Mammoth tune?

It's great to know VH is like the rest of us hanging on to favorite riffs and eventually using them. With this song you can see the value of a good producer though right? Satch knows VH.

  • Not sure when exactly he wrote this tune funk but they did play it a few times live early in the VH days. I do know its one of my all time faves. They had their fudes with producers as we all know haha.

  • Damn cool choice... and they sure do sound like the old VH. Then again, old satchboogy helps in that respect too! ;)

  • the VH version is so cool but there are no good quality recordings of it that i know of so this was the best choice. Dude you know damn well this band could have made 20 albums of nothing but this kinda stuff, thats what bums me out. :)

  • I was like this is VH? k im a dummy cause i have never heard the song befor ! you so right tho the atomic punks do a great job covering songs ! Such as u did just now . Kick ass riffin bro 5*s RoXOn

  • thanks bro, yeah this one isnt very well known because it was never recorded to an album and never will be :(

  • great job dude. i swear the atomic punks are as close as you can get to van halen . ralph can really pull of roths voice like no one else. simple amazing.

  • i agree 100%, and russ on lead doesnt get any better other than maybe brian young.

  • Maybe not "quite" as old as it gets, but I've sure never heard it before. And you burned it up!!

    Moosie

  • Ed always burned it up i just copy it up haha. thanks Moosie

  • Sounds great as always..The screaming guitar! LOL :)

    Leslie~

  • sc sc sc sc screamin guitars!

  • Kick ass! I can honestly say I've never heard that track before. Thanks for pulling that out of the vault Satch.

  • yeah its got some dust on it...

  • Thats my favorite demo, can you do light IN the sky?

  • "Light Up the Sky"

  • he means the demo light in the sky bro

  • nah, that would make a good project for you next

  • Awesome!! can you send me the tabs? :)

  • wow amaxing, nevr heard it before, vh metal is awesom!

  • Very cool Bro!!! Making me dig out my bootlegs! LOL

  • i hear ya, this one isnt on many of them.

  • Nope, don't have it. I only have four boots from them. At the best (Live & Studio from '76-84), Club Days (1976), Magic Mountain (1977), And the whole US Festival from 1983 which I know they didn't play that then LOL.

  • This is great Satch! Really cool song! 5*****

  • Thanks a lot Cameragirl...i tend to stray from the mainstream "hits" haha.
