  • Uplander LT 3.9L engine .... Cool (;

  • Oh God, I rented this car for a week and shouldve bought the damn thing. Its a fantastic thing with the 3.9. Woo!

  • what mods did u add?

  • I hope international models don't share the same gauge cluster. Its really quite odd they decided going up to 140 KM/H is 'good enough'... Analog should show both, digital can of course just switch over. You would loose all sense of relative speed based off a simple glance at the dash. The needle would be way over into the 100-120 range cruising on the highway in KM/H. This is a interesting, yet poor choice.

  • @ericspda This car was built for the American market and so it would be reeding in MPH and cruising on the highway at 65 to 70mph the needle is pointing straight up. He just switched it over to metric system to mess around...

  • MMMMMM I love The Impala. No matter what year it is it always has power and an amazing ride.

  • km/h

  • Like the Impala but it's funny they need to update the 3.9 cuz the malibu's 3.6 is pushin out more horses than it. The 3.6 in the malibu has 252 HP while the 3.9 only has 240 HP

  • @chevroletfan17 IIRC the Malibu's 3.6L is an overhead engine vs the 3.9L's pushrod.

  • wtf? why is your impala only 140 km/h max its supposed to be 220km/h

  • @azfiandazfar Because it's normally reading MPH. He just has it switched over to KM/H. They make it switchable so they don"t have to clutter up the speedo with both MPH and KM/H printed on it.

  • @mrsarcastis13 oh alright... and can you please just tell me how to do it? thanks

  • @azfiandazfar I'm sure theres a button on the dash. Something along those lines. It's not something that you can just buy for your car. It comes from the factory like this with the ECU programed to do this function.

  • I Have A 2006 impala LS.. how did you swith it to km/h??

  • imagine it is mph n it is so fast......

  • haahah why is the km/h sign on in ur dash???

  • Does anyone know how to change the dash so it reads km/h? Mine is obviously set to mph but im going to germany and I need to change it. Can anyone help? :)

  • @adamjamesbond007 If they are like my 2006 Impala SS, you should be able to go through all the settings using the buttons to the right of the instrument panel to do that. Check your Owner's manual, it should be in there how to navigate the settings.

  • @popokikolohe thanks man i found out how. You just change the dash over to metric!

  • i was going to say thats fast as shit

  • Yea you think its mad fast then you realize the 100 mark is actually 60 mph lol.

  • This car has the 3.9L V6 so it must be the Impala LTZ

  • @ AHMEDTHAKING (notTHANKING): its this why people like my Grandpa still pushes his stock 67 camaro all around Georgia?? I haven't seen imports that drive around that long......think or Thank before you type, moronic ignoramus........ ;-)

  • them impalas r fast i aint even know

  • hay AhmedThaking for the record i own a 09 impala ltz with the 3.9 and in mph i have had mine to 137 on a short back rd and i have race a bmw and won!!! so shut up

  • sooo i have a 95 accord with a 2.2 and ive had mine to 148mph n have shitted on bmws n shitstangs n more so stfu

  • @prosurfer2222 you couldnt even take on a pos v6 mustang in a 95 accord. sorry faggot. And if those bmw's were any newer that 94 or 95 there's no way yo took them either. get a real car and then you can brag.

  • @prosurfer2222 have fun in your faggot cruiser

  • if you look... its on metric so the reading is km/h not mph...

  • if it werent for americans there would be no cars

  • @jaredc08 if it werent for Canadaians, your "American" cars wouldnt be made

  • @AllBlackEveryThang01

debateable, my ram was made in dodge city which is in the us. just sayin tho =]

  • @jaredc08 not necessarily. ford invented the assembly line. but mercedes built the first car in the early 1890's

  • @northeasteg6 your right, but what made cars so popular and able to get easily was the assembly line. so therefor americans were a huge part of it,

  • @jaredc08

Actually the 1st car was invented by Ferdinand Verbiest who is born in Belgium.

American people are just too dumb to learn history so they think they've created everything, yet America is less than 200 years old.

  • @jaredc08 And why is that? The car was invented by a GERMAN, and the Germans haven't stopped building excellent cars since.

  • @idontcare80 Try telling that to anyone who has owned and had to work on a VW.

  • @sideburns2009 I will definitely agree with you there. My girlfriend had a Jetta that was a unbelievably unreliable and unimaginably hard to work on. I've never seen a car with so many cheap, brittle plastic parts in my life. BMW, Porsche and Mercedes make amazing cars though, even if they're hard to work on.

  • @sideburns2009

generally people who own VW's are white collars who have enough money to pay people to fix their cars..and couldnt change a flat tire if their life depended on it. i like VW's just saying a lot of the owners are snobby businessmen/women

  • @idontcare80 That Benz thing? More like the first tricycle. The first REAL car was built by Cadillac. Besides, America was the car capital for 60 years. We introduced the world to the car because we mass produced it. Vehicles by Cadillac were the epitome of luxury for six decades. The rest of the world came along, saw how well we were doing, and decided to join in. So, they stole our ideas and decided that they would make their cars a bit better. Nonetheless, we're the birthplace of REAL cars.

  • @CoreyForeside LMAO!!! Yeah, and Mercedes-Benz just kept making wagons with engines for all of those years and were never considered to be supreme luxury cars!

    Moron.

  • @idontcare80 Sure...later on. I could argue the supremacy of American cars all day long.

  • @CoreyForeside You could try!

I would agree that for some time (maybe 30s to the late 60s) the American companies did make some very good cars, but I would still say that the Europeans made some of the best cars out there in the early part of the last century. Bugatti, Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Rolls-Royce were all fantastic vehicles up until about the second world war. After the 60s American cars declined into complete garbage.

  • The Japanese absolutely dominated both European (except high end cars) and American cars in the 80s and 90s. In the 2000s American cars started to improve and they've started to very closely resemble Japanese cars.

Just look at the dinosaur in this video, it couldn't outrun a Honda Fit and it has serious problems with fires to boot!

  • @idontcare80 Sure, maybe our cars declined in luxury after the 1960s, but every region has it's low points and you must give everyone the benefit of the doubt at all times. After all, we're improving and, if you don't watch out, we just might take back our place. All I'm saying is, have some respect, because we were on top of the world for quite some time. Things fluctuate. We were the best before, Germans are the "best" now. It's a cycle.

  • @CoreyForeside sorry but Oldsmobile was started in 1898 and Cadillac didnt start till 1902. Oldsmobile had the first mass produced car (the 1901 curved dash runabout) ford model t didnt come out till what? about 1908?

  • @mustang633NY Mmkay.

  • @idontcare80 to be more exactly, it was invented in MANNHEIM, my hometown

  • @idontcare80 quit kissing german ass

  • that's the worst shit i ever have seen.. a 3.9L engine that provide so less Hp that's stuning bad.. a bmw 3.0L can provide 331Hp.. and it is even smaller engine.. american cars are the worst shit ever found..

  • agreed, horrible cars ,interiors, cheap plastics, and want alot ofmoney for deptartment of treasury cars.

  • @AhmedThaking That's because the BMW 3.0 is turbo, genius.

  • @ambientflier

Are u an idiot or what?

BMW uses turbo on the diesel engine and the new BMW M5 F10 not on regular petrol engine

    Study more mister einstein!

  • @AhmedThaking Perhaps you should research more. The non-turbo BMW 3.0 makes anywhere from 200 to 250hp. Only the twin-turbo 3.0 makes 300+ hp.

  • @ambientflier

    yeah you should research more..

Well give me a link that proves what you're saying!

  • @AhmedThaking Um...look up the specs on a bwm 335i. That's the turbo 3.0, making 300hp and 300 lb-ft.

  • @ambientflier

We're talking about the M3! dude.. that's a not a fucking Turbo engine!

  • @AhmedThaking The M3 went for 60 grand new and revved to 8300rpm. Wouldn't you expect it to maker some power? Duh. Are you really comparing it to a 20K impala? How much power does a 20K BMW make? 184hp from a 325i? Lol...

  • @AhmedThaking where as many BMW cars like a 325 have under 200hp and under 200 lb/ft torque w/ a 6 cylinder engine (2.5L)

  • @mustang633NY

lol the size of the engine is 2.5L .. it's smaller than 3.9L obviously. and it provides 192 hp.. And 245NM torque. the torque is over 200..

  • @AhmedThaking at high RPM.... once again apples to apples. BMW's cheapest car is OVER $30,000 in the US where as you can buy a brand new impala for around 20k w/ rebates if you trade in another GM car or even if you pay MSRP its still around 25k for an LT and its a larger car than the tiny BMW that starts at 30k.... apples to apples... GM is for average American families and a BMW is for people that like to drive and can afford the higher price tag and service costs.

  • @mustang633NY

Look that's redundant. We didn't talk about the price. It was about the power. Yeah BMW is a bit pricey, because it has quality. The cheaper the car.. The lower the quality, that's just simple. You can't buy luxury for less money. American cars are for wannabes, where the BMW is for people who really wanna feel like driving a car ;) Try to test drive a BMW 5 series.. I guaranty, you will like it. Even more than American cars.

  • @AhmedThaking Your dense.. I LIKE BMW cars.... but im smart enough to not go onto a 1980s mustang sight and say "ha ha - my 2007 impala V6 has more power than your 5.0 mustang" thats just stupid.... It would be more reasonable for me to go onto a Toyota site and say "my impala 3.5L V6 gets nearly as good highway fuel mileage as your 4 cylinder Camry and is much quieter." this is a good argument because both cars are current vehicles and built for the same thing - commuting & family duty

  • @AhmedThaking BTW Ive driven the 5 series, Jaguars, Mercedes and all American brands of vehicles. The nicest car ive ever driven was a Jaguar... hands down....

  • @mustang633NY

I agree on that.. Jaguars are quite nice.. But this is a matter of opinoin. I don't like the look of Jaguars. Well XF is nice, but the price is almost same as BMW 7 series, mercedes S-Class, or The Audi A8..I prefer German cars. More specifik the BMW because of their Powerful Engines.

  • @mustang633NY Don't you know how many Jaguars use Ford engines and/or transmissions? LOL!

  • @Orion6104 Jaguar was owned by FoMoCo for a few years. Jag engine was in the "NEW" T-bird, the lincoln LS was based on a jag chaises. Base model Jag was based on a ford tarus chasies w/ ford power train if i remember right... honestly more ford and lincolns had jag power than the other way around, as far as i know any way

  • @mustang633NY Ahh interesting, thanks for the info! I'll stop trusting my Automotive professor lol

  • @Orion6104 No Ford NEVER used Jaguar engines or parts. Jaguar used lots of Ford parts, but now Jaguar is owned by Tata Motors of India.

  • all i have to say is "km/h"

  • Yup, and the cop cars are limited to 129MPH from GM..

  • the ss is awesome, but to work on, forget it, i know people who had to put ball joints, tie rods, and a steering rack in their ss, with only 20,000 miles, a v8 is not made for fwd, but is a pretty good sleeper tho

  • get the ss they are way faster

  • well duh! a 5.3 is obviously gonna have an advantage on a 3.9.

  • and the small block sucks lots more gas then the V-6 even if it does use AFM. Plus the SS has only marginally better top end acceleration.

  • My 3.8 Liter 200HP V6 is faster. It took this car 7 seconds to go from 20-100kmh, which is like 10-60mph, and I could make a 0-60 run in 7.

  • okay queer bait

  • They left the fucking car in drive. It makes a difference in 1st you twit.

  • i saw this and said no way! then i saw is in km/h

  • hahaha yeaman i was like nice 0-60 dude

  • Tru- that is crap

  • Why is everyone getting mad. It says "set to KM/H

  • Nice try...

  • it KM/H

I can see word on guage - KM/H

  • He said it was in KM/H in the description...can you read?? or spell??

  • KM/H

  • its a setting you make on the menu you see at the bottom of the speedometer. It takes all of 5 seconds to set.

  • I scared the hell outta my wife's mom and aunt in a rental Impala, switching the gauge mode to KM/hr like this. I'm like "Man, this car is smooth, we're going 90 thru town and it's so quiet!" They were freaking out. My wife was rolling her eyes. It was funny as hell.

  • LOL, I bet ya did :-D

  • lol me n my buddy likie to do that to people in his pontiac make it look like we r doin 140 :p but u do over 110 onstar calls his house to see if its stolen :P

  • were you in mph or kph?

  • we would switch the speedo to kph but if you do over like 110 mph onstar calls

  • @mykulc cool story faggot

  • @mykulc thats funny lol.......a safe joke to play on the family lol...

  • @mykulc i did the same in my grandmas impala we were on the highway and i hit the km/hr and it was at 110 and im like wow i cant believe how nice this rides at 110 and she freaked out but i explained it to her lol

  • umm... to all that think it's mph, the "orange" light and km/h should be a dead giveaway... mph is in "green" as in all other videos.

  • you could do that and put a piece of electrical tape over the km/h and make a pretty cool video..haha

  • u guys are idiots, he tells u its in km/h.

  • too bad that wasn't MPH. that was fast!

  • lol haha that is mph..

  • read the description!

  • Of course you're ....

BTW, it's mentioned in the description ;-)

  • how do you do that

and is it easy to switch back and forth?

  • I'll bet we are looking at kilomters per hour in speed , NOT mph.

  • LOL no impala is that fast with 240 HP lmao km/h lol

  • lol you have to be rolling down hill right?

  • how do you do that? i have an impala and i dont know how u do that
