  • OK this is the best vanilla cupcake recipe.. just add a bit of salt. You can also use lemon instead of vanilla extract. Rasp the lemon skin and juice the lemon. Use half of that for 12 cupcakes (the taste is subtle then) - follow this recipe. Of all of it for 12 cupcakes to get a real lemon flavour.

  • @Annaluvsdasims2and3 it makes it easier for the rest of the world who doesn't use cups to follow. Like me who lives in Norway, we don't use cups but grams and such so this makes it easier for me to understand the recipy without trying to convert cups to grams and such

    Use plain flour instead but for every 1 cup, add about 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and about 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

  • I'm a chef, and this is a really nice simple and quick recipie, however I think using somthing like vanilla paste or a real vanilla pod is much better if you want the full flavour of vanilla.

  • Also, the cupcakes produced are flat - which are so ideal for eating and icing. This beats all the recipes which cheat and instead produce muffin-like domed tops which are failures!

  • OH MY!!! This recipe is the best ever! Full-proof! Most cupcake recipes tend to produce dry interiors, but this one is so moist, extremely indulgent! I was quite sceptical at first as I thought the dough would be overmixed with this technique, but I'm wrong! This right proportion of ingredients really worked. I'm so glad this wonderful chef and her video has made the perfect cupcake for me. I'm really surprised too that young chefs today can really share amazing stuff with the world nowadays.

    1 tsp. vanilla

    I had to cut down the amount of sugar slightly in the sponge mix but that's just my own preference.
