  • Let me first say, these videos are hard to find very good. A stock second gen ls6 C5 ZO6 will dyno 330 horsepower Lingenfelter said that themselves. This cobra is putting down 450. 120 horses in cobra is well enough to redeem it's 500 pound disadvantage. Thats why the Corvette got smoked 120 horses down.

  • It sad you all think C5 and C6 are the only corvette other there with HP. My 1990 Z51 C4 has some mods that will blow a C5 and C6 zo6 out fo the water. But that is just mine, there are ones who got there mod to the point a C6 zr1 cant touch them. I like to see a moded rustang go toe to toe with a moded C4.

    (side note: No Im not going to street race, the club I am with would kick me out if I did. But if you want to take it to a track Im all game.)

  • both nice cars, but here is the truth about their popularity. the cobra as just under 38K brand new... same year the z06 just under 53K... Fast forward to present day: both cars (about same mileage and mostly stock) are worth about the same on the used car market... simple economics tells you that the 2003-2004 Cobra SVT's are more sought after and more popular by most people than the same year z06...

I live in the state of Illinois , also live right next to highway 255 there are many many many many parts of that highway alone to do more than 160 miles per hour. A simple pullie swap and required tune puts you well over 400 on the dyno a significant amount more than the zo6's 360 at most with the dyno tune. Also im sure there's a bit more than the pullie on this Terminator.02 zo6 4.0 0-60 116 1/4 mile..03 svt cobra 4.5 0-60 111 1/4 mile CAR AND DRIVER

  • @luvscience44 The terminators were only made in 03, and 04 unfortunately. The car doesn't need more than a tune and pulley swap. Stock it runs a high 12 in the quarter mile with a 0-60 time of about 5 seconds flat.

Very good car, was faster than the c5 coupe as far as the quarter mile.

  • @ilovechevy1 that 581 rwhp kenne bell termi must be a monster. but mustangs are the most modded cars out there. i'd have to guess that modded cobra's put out around 440-460 rwhp but your 520 rwhp camaro must be a hand full. i've driven my friend's 2007 shelby gt500 and that car was sweet. i couldn't imagine 520 rwhp or even 581 for that matter... but i guess i'll find out when my buddy gets the 2012 shelby gt500 rated at 580 rwhp

I just know a few ppl that have them and see alot of them makin around 450whp or so with 2.93 pully (12 psi) cat back exhaust with stock manifolds and stock cats and a CAI or atleast a cone filter and a dyno tune. . . Your stock numbers are about right on but I swar the stock boost was 8? jw.. I love the 03-04 cobras, I always been a Chevy guy like I stated earlyer but these cars are sick. Hopefully I can get one someday

I garentee I'd have a hell of a time in eather of these cars but that Chevy roar is priceless, although the Ford whine is real nice also. And cheap bolton mods? yeah they probably got cheap bolton mods but I think a LSX can be built for cheaper, as far as bolton's and inturnals.

  • Well thats no suprise that a Cobra that has more mods then the guy wants to admit beat a stock Vette, it might have a stock internal, stock heads, stock cams engine but it has more bolton's then just a pully if its 450 hp. Thats 60 over stock at the crank and I'm gussing he got them numbers from a chassies dyno, so if thats the case its makin even more at the crank. For the most part they make about 455 to 480 at the wheels with full boltons and a good tune

Stock with a tune mine made 388rwhp 378rwtq at 7.5 psi. add a pully @ 12psi mine made 450rwhp 466rwtq, then i ported the blower added borla catback made 479rwhp 483rwtq, that with stock manafolds going through the cats. it only takes little things to make big power with the cobras,

  • Hi FA - great running cobra - when you had that car, did you ever get a timed run in the 1/4? How much rwhp was the car making? What mods?   • this cobra is not just pullied. i think she has been pullied and ce-programmed. stock they run 360-ish horses. no way you gained 100 from a pulley. the programmer and pulley i can see. we have done that with our 03. we also ran the 3inch and 2.8 inch pulleys. the hypertech tune gave us 43 horses over the 364. then the 3 inch pulley gave us 8 more. and when we put the 2.8 on we gained an additional 12 horses making our total only 427. sick cobra. wish we could run.

  • @ghettosmirnoff Must be something wrong with your cobra. Because stock they are rated at 390hp, which is often found to be underrated and in actuality its between 420hp-430hp. Stock cobras will kill just about anything. throw a KB on at 18psi and your talking Enzo killing power.

  • @ghettosmirnoff Sadly, no more mustang for me. :( Got to expensive so it's been gone about a year now. The cost of gas plus insurance was just too much to handle. It was my daily driver, and I was working about an hour a way. Was taking me $15 a day in gas alone(didn't help that I ran 90mph the whole way there every day). Just couldn't do it anymore. Loved that car though man. I drove the balls off of it and it never failed me. Never faltered once. I plan to get another one in the next year or 2

  • @bigchris0886 Sounds like a mildly modded/tuned/bolt on cobra from the HP numbers. I bought mine with 60k for 19k but the car is immaculate. I'd definitely go look at it and if he says u cant drive it tell him to go fuck himself. You need to drive these cars to see any issues or problems one might be having. Take everything into account, check the carfax so u know its not salvage, look at the engine bay, check the oil, tires and make absolutely sure it passes smog, Good luck bro!

My car would smoke any stock cobra or vette hands down lets say that. Does that work? Don't think so. A stock Z06 would beat a cobra. Maybe if they would have pulled their head out and used more displacement they might have been able to be faster than the vette but they wanted to use their 4.6l. Not sure why, the vette gets better gas mileage is faster on motor. I have seen a completely stock 03 Z06 that was boosted to 13 psi and made 717 hp same day i dynoed 463.

  • How do you guy's figure you save a ton of money buying a terminator over a vette? I can find lots of z06's for 20k a cobra is not much less. When you buy a vette you get nicer interior, a lighter better handling 2-seater sprots. I would consider the trans am to be a better value than the cobra for the fact you can do so many more mods for the extra money you save. in fact if we are going too those measures the $500 80's mustang or camaro is the better value for how cheap you can build them.

  • My 03 SVT Cobra would do the same to the vette as that one did... Sorry Vette guys. We just know how to spend our money better. Take the money you save buying the cobra instead of the vette and put it in the cobra's mods. No brainer in my opinion.

    Looks like we both got some good deals. Mine is an '02 Z06 with 19k miles purchased for 19.5k stock. Like I mentioned earlier, anyone can buy a modded Z06 or Cobra for under 25k. Most people prefer "unmolested" cars and will pay for it. Right now it's a buyers market... FWIW my old cam only and stalled F-body used to kill the few Cobra's I raced... it's dumb to compare Ford Vs Chevy.
