If someone is born blind and crippled, is that person's reality a consequence of his doing? If nature is so forgiving, then why was the average lifespan between 20 and 35 years before the modern era? Poison Ivy and Arsenic are natural as well. Pharmacology is based on plants because that is the raw materials we had to begin experimenting with. Like you said, 40% is no longer based on boiling bark.

He barely had access to basic medicine, but had an ample supply of good will, fresh air, organic food and prayer, like everyone on the island. In 1960, the overall 5-year survival rate for all leukemias was about 14%. It is now about 50%.
