I noticed that this guys chest isn't hitting the deck each rep and then I read the requirements. What's with the staggered grip on the pull ups? Preference?
@hoglover1 he's not hitting the deck cause it's damn hard to do it 100 times, as you probably figured. at some point, you just have to get it done the best you can.
@Algastar - I don't know his reason but I have a SLAP tear (repaired) in my shoulder and the staggered/reversed hand position prevents my joint from locking out and still lets me do a pretty full pull up.
Should you alternate which hand you alternate on at around 50 to protect from muscle imbalance? It doesn't look like he does :/ Or does doing the same alternate grip the whole time not do much to affect that?
@o0OMarijuanaO0o Its called a mixed grip and its probably the best way he can get up over the bar that many reps. It makes it easier to do deadlifts too.
@o0OMarijuanaO0o Some people do the reps then worry about details later. Ever try to tell someone to stop rocking on the curls or bouncing the bar on their chest on a press? They don't care. They just wanna be able to say the did 4 sets of 10 with 100 or 250 on the bar. You are correct about imbalance, unless he did 50 over/under then 50 with the grip reversed. I didn't pay attention. He may not do this particular drill everyday either.

he just works his legs and low back. he doesnt focus on lats and chest. this is bullshit . it doesnt help gaining muscles.

@Medecophobic I think you're lost, any kind of pull up works the Lats. For you information, the lats run all the way down to your lower back.
This is a Cross Fit workout, not bodybuilding. It won't put much mass on your muscles, but it will get you shredded.
