  • i searched all the youtube trying to find this music

  • Actually I think it's a little too slow. I'm also playing it in an Orchestra. I think it's supposed to be a bit more quick. But the good thing's that it's played amazingly beautiful!

  • i am proud tobe a christian since the lord of the rings best off the holy bible .

  • @pastordiane123 wtf... LOTR is its own religion..

  • Ahh, I'm dying!

  • Step 1: Buy tin flute

Step 2: Learn, Concerning Hobbits on said flute.

    Step 3: ?

    Step 4: Profit.

  • Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, Usher and 7 fans disliked this video...The poor guys, they don't know what real music is.....Makes me cry when people are disliking videos with beautiful music....Only we, the people who liked this video, know what music is!

  • @MrBRFB I heart Lady Gaga and love this piece because we are playing it in band and it is amazing. Dont judge.

  • 0:01 to 4:12 is the best part. :)

  • @kattzu that was harsh man, not cool

  • copy of Dvorak - New World Symphony - 4th Movement

  • 10 people that watched this are musical idiots that like techno music! D:<

  • 1:09-4:04 beautiful piece of art

  • im playing this in band

  • 0:02-0:23,Epic music is marked.

  • I can't find words...

  • I hope that they get the same team for The Hobbit to make the music

  • the violin part at 1:42 is so sweet and really well pulled off. I just love it when a violinist can make his instrument sing

  • amazing...

  • Howard shore for hall of fame

  • Howard shore for hall of fame

  • now thats what i call real music

  • holy shit i love this movie soundtrack it makes me wanna cry sometimes

  • holy shit i love this movie soundtrack it makes me wanna cry sometimes

  • God! These music makes me fly! :D No words really :)

  • music fits the story perfectly which is amazing considering how long ago the book was written and the author died and how recent the movies were made

  • This is pretty epic. I think you can hear a lot of themes in the Lord of the Rings score that were taken from Johaan de Meij (who originally wrote a score based on the books). But that's ok! Pretty brilliant, really. :D

  • This music moves me beyond words. So lovely. Concerning Hobbits is, in my opinion, the best song in all the movies. So beautiful, yet with a lovely simplicity that really captures the essence of a Hobbit in a way alone visuals can't.

  • They way this orchestra plays 'Concerning Hobbits' is fabulous. Thumbs up for the conductor and all the musicians!

  • i played this song at my end of the year concert and i thought it was good...... until i saw this video

  • whatever happened to the movie the hobbit? i assume thats not going to be made now

  • @1992Yeates

It is going to be made; apparently there was some kind of battle for the rights, and now they're working on it.... : )

  • Lle Naa Vendui

  • Eomer was not at helms deep you c him with gandalf and king of rohan even says Eomer then Eomer says his lil speech then they attack the orks =]

  • That's right Jolachgh!... D:

  • Everything about the trilogy, the books, movies, soundtrack, everything is so amazing!! love the music!!!

  • I'm learning how to play this! it's so easy i got the whole thing done and perfect the day i got the music

  • The only word to describe this is Amazing...

  • Very Good!!!!

  • i love lord of the rings books and movies. it just gives me such a wonderful feeling. i wish the story was real. :(

  • I'm the same way GAMELOVER1996

If 1996 was the year u were born, same here lol

  • You are not alone!!!^^

    Greets from Berlin!

  • Hahahaha, your not the only one

  • Lotr is the best thing on earth! ;D I love it... and music like this gives me every time goose pimples. :) Sorry for my bad english.^^

  • I saw the performance Music Of The Lord Of The Rings back in 2008 at powell hall in st. louis, the show should tour nonstop I NEED to see it again. Bawled my eyes out.

  • gosh this brings back memories. thanks!!

  • This is great !!! And so helpful for the young and children that they think that classical music is boring,... through concerts like this, they'll find out the huge possibilities of classical music, that becomes a real language, able to communicate so much with no words. !!!

  • WoW

  • i wish the movies were in theaters again....im sure many would go!

  • There will be when the hobbit comes out :)

  • @Her0ofCha0s94 I wish i could go back in time to where the first one had come out. :(

  • WOW this music is pretty good, i have never seen something better than this!

I Liked the movies (the lord of the rings) so much but I think that the book is better!

    Bye!!

  • @caiohro i am reading the book and i think its weird how tht huge section in the fellowship where they run into Tom Bombadil was cut out. it seemed very important. :/

  • There are some things in the books that just wouldn't translate well into the movie, or they didn't have time....probably the latter. The films were hella long as it was.

  • You're right, the battles are long in the film, but short in the book. And they left out some parts. But that is done to make the film a GOOD film. If they put evry thing from the book into the film, i suspect that the film would get boring.

(a liite q, in the film you see elvels march into helms deep, in the book the elves don't show, or I just missed that part :P, do you know?)

  • @TheUnclebob91 No, the elves don't come to helm's deep in the books. Besides, Eomér is in Helm's Deep from the beginning of the battle, and the warriors that Gandalf brings is the warrior's of westfold who were scattered after the defeat at the fords of Isen (were Théodred died) . He bring their captain Erkenbrand, marshal of Westfold, too ;)

(Yes, I do know TOO much about this story :P)

  • This just makes me even more excited for the Hobbit. XD

  • tolkien was in world war 1

  • i like the one from 1:15,how is it called?

  • concerning hobbits

  • in dreams

  • i like the one from 1:15

  • Wow.... Great. Our Chamber Orchestra played this song.

  • whats the name of the song 20 seconds into it?

  • The Prophecy

  • wow

  • Thank you for The Lord of the Rings John Ronald Reuel Tolkien,i hope he is in heaven now and i hope he can see how popular Lord of the Rings is,Rest in Peace Tolkien.

  • That's cool,THX for uploading.

  • This was amazing.. well done you guys in that Ochestra... especially the violins and flute!

  • the best""""""""""amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • absolutely beautiful. Wonderful performance!!!

  • Freaking epic

  • omg perfect ! i am a huge fan of LOTR and this is just perfect *__*!!!!!!!

  • beautiful :)

  • Tolkien would have been proud

    if he could hear this.

  • @jolachgh wherever he is, i hope he can.

  • @jolachgh Why?

  • all hail to howard shore and his master music!!!!

  • wha about his master art

  • Nice but nobody is so good as Howerd Shore

  • the best ever music ever.period.

  • the best song of Lord of the rings

  • The History of the Ring and all of the history about first and socond adge following to the 3rd you will find in "Silmarilion" book. by Talkien

  • fucking pro!

  • Where can I find "the History of the Ring"? It's the mysterious theme at the start of each film

  • I have been looking for that too! It's driving me crazy

  • the music of this Trilogy is EPIC!!

  • No, its an irish whistle (otherwise known as a tin whistle/penny whistle), but piccolo does play it at some point in the score.

  • how is the song called that is played from 0:23 to 0:41??

  • The Bridge of Khazad Dum

  • someone must tell me the name of the very first song they played

  • It's called Fellowship Theme.

  • best song.

    everrrrr

  • well there are 3 with similar melodies but as they progress they become different. they are concerning hobbits, many meetings, in dreams. hope this helps!!

  • tht's a recorder at around 1:24 rite?

  • piccolo

  • piccolo from DBZ!

  • or a tin whistle

  • i think it is some sort of recorder, its certainly not a piccolo

  • i thought so cuz we hav a piccolo in our band it sounds really different

  • im not sure, but definatly not piccolo. Possibly recorder, but probably a tin whistle

  • its recorder.

  • I luv all the song

  • Comment removed

  • GRANDI!!

  • It is so cool, when music for the film makes orchestra!

  • PERFECT is the word

  • amazing sound quality!

  • we play this in my band class

  • WAHLAO, i love the OPENING!!!!!!

  • Anybody know the name of the song that is played when Frodo meets up with Gandalf in Fellowship of the Ring in the beginning?

  • i think it was "The Shire" perhaps? or "Concerning Hobbits", either one works

  • Concerning Hobbits it was, Thank you

  • oh yay do you know the name of that?

  • hey what song is it when a little boy sings in an all boys choir?

  • Crap, I forgot the name. I have the music for my Philharmonic concert so I will look at it to find it.

  • oh thank you so much!!! =)

  • There is a part in the medley version but you may be talking about The Breaking of the Fellowship. The all boys choir sings near the end of that one and in this medley its based off the same song but its usually a solo instead of a full choir.

  • omg it sounds exactly like in the movie !

  • what I would give to watch this live

  • i dont think his temp was iffy, i think he was using rubarto, i regulary in the orchestra i play in and i push and pull the tempo about as much as i can get away with problem with being too strict is the music doesen't become your own, every peice of music i play i like to make it my own.

  • there were a few iffy moments with soloists tempo, but besides that it was fabulous! I wonder how you get hired as a player in a Hollywood orchestra??

  • Amazing performance, I don't know why there aren't a lot more motion picture/video game concerts, if some symphony orchestra near wher I live played an hour of LOTR music, i'd buy my ticket in a heartbeat!

  • ahhh... music to my ears

  • 1:15/1:42 is harmony to my hears .. :')

  • I totally agree. Hobbiton. :D

  • flute solo at the end is a bit over ornamented, but otherwise nice performances all around

  • The picutres on the screen are so totally wrong... hm... Shouldn't have been so hard to cordinate that a bit better :) Like Hobbits when it's about hobbits. But amazing soundtrack and very well played

  • howard shore is amazing no one ese could have composed music more fitting the he did for the movies

i hope he does the hobbit too

  • Then do i have good news for you! Howard Shore has been confirmed to do the music for the Hobbit films. i was very happy, but of course not surprised, when i heard this. Who else could make music better suited for Middle Earth? No one. Howard Shore is a genius.

  • you got that right :) !!!

  • really that is bloody fantastic

  • I know. I was so excited when I found out Howard Shore would be doing the music for The Hobbit film. I was also pleased to find out that Ian McKellen would be reprising his role of Gandalf, Andy Serkis is set to play Gollum again, and the WETA team is also on board. And of course, Peter Jackson is producing the movies and wouldn't want it any other way.

  • yes :) i spose the ultimate would have been for peter jackson to direct it but its the nest best thing

  • That would have been awesome.

  • Sorry for dumb question - WETA team? :)

  • Weta workshops. you never heard of them? if not, they did all the props, sculptures, minatures, "Bigatures" and Weta digital did all the cgi ect. ... have you never seen the special feature discs on the four disc special? i think i watch the special features more than the film now (they are nearly the same in length) 12 hours of movie, 12 hours of special features.

  • Oh yeah, ofcourse.. i just didnt remember em :S

    Thanks for responding!

  • i know, i watch those too. i want to become an engineer and be involved with the environment, but my second choice would be to work at Weta. Although i would've wanted to work specifically on the LOTR and the Hobbit. Can't wait until that comes out! i'm so excited. i wonder who they'll cast as Bilbo.

  • Weta workshop is the company responsible for all those cool miniature models (aka bigatures) and realistic armor and weapons, etc. in the movie. Weta digital did all of the cool visual effects and Massive, which was computer animation with artificial intelligence. That came in handy for the big battle scenes. Not a dumb question. Unless you saw some of the extra features or are a FX buff, i doubt most people have heard of them. But they did an awesome job.

  • Awesome! Excellent score!

  • some parts are perfect. so similar to the original ones

  • Howard Shore is GREAT!

And this composer, to, played it well. : )

  • Umm.. Howard Shore is the composer...

Umm did you mean the conductor or the performer or something else?

    Still it doesn't really matter.

This is played beautifully and I agree, yes, Howard Shore is amazing!

    =)

  • very nice

  • this is so great...I would say that Howard Shore is better even than Beethoven.

  • I'm a fan of film music and this this rendition of the score is brilliant but you cannot compare Beethoven and Shore...we all have the images in our heads that accompany this music...Beethoven didn't have that...try to imagine you never saw these films...would the music be that outstanding?...I don't think so

  • i think it just a matter of opinion. people can think what they want, but this 2 people are different, they live in different age. you can't compare them side by side. However they both are all some

  • i remember watching this movie in theaters and when sauron's eye/tower fell, all the people in the theater just got up and began to clap. haha good times for lord of the rings!

  • haha. When that scene happened, I was very happy. But then I became sad because the film is ending. Nevertheless after the movie, I was happy and told everyone i could to watch LOTR

  • Bravo! What a great job.

  • tbh lotr the best movies ever made =)

  • Whats the name of the first song played?

  • Look under "more info".

  • Lord Of The Rings and The Matrix are the best films ever

  • I remember how excited I was when this film came out :D

  • Wow, it sounds as good as in the movies. Very well performed!

  • 1:20 the best song i love it

  • WHATS THE NAME OF IT?

  • The song's name is "Concerning Hobbit". It's in the description. ^^

  • but only the second part^^^^^^^^^ this song does not really exist... it's a combination of the fallowship of the ring

  • one of the most moving and powerful soundtracks of all time - and very well performed

  • i play this song in my band is very beautiful

  • Absolutely beautiful. Just like all three of the films.

  • se avessi saputo prima che a milano facevano una cosa del genere...

  • Wow!!! Que música!!!

Sin duda el mejor soundtrack de todos los tiempos!!

  • What instrument is being used @ 1:28?

  • Its called a tin whistle

  • it aint a tin whistle, its wood wind, im pretty sure its some type of recorder

  • it sounds a bit like a duduk except higher

    maybe?

  • it aint a tin whistle, its wood wind, im pretty sure its some type of recorder

  • ... meh it just sounds good...

  • this music is soo beautiful!

  • This is fantastic, I love the music from the lord of the rings, it gives the film so much life. It truly wouldn't be the same without it.

I loved reading the books to, god bless

    J R R Tolkien !!!

Fantastic Orchestra, nearly makes me feel humble with emotion

  • lo bonito es que cuando pasado un tiempo escuches esto te vendran muchos recuerdos.

    magnificas peliculas

  • Lord of the rings soundtrack is probably the best ever made. just amazing. and this orchestra reminds us of that. well done!!
