  • This stuff angers me at least put a machine like that to good use pullin engines from cars or dredgeing a pond

  • The ECL machine was used at Shaw brick plant ,the late Fraser Conrad got it from shaws, the putt put motor or pony dosn't work It came from Shaw brick on a float hauled by the first CAT powered LTL 9000 that Conrad Transport had.L4.Bill Day had it running hooked the swing in gear and pushed with a 966D,the float was a 3 axle Rodgers that Ocean had, electric over hydrolic.

  • Well one good thing at least where it is sitting it would cost to much to drag out and scrap. That probaly saved it. We had pretty much the same model shovel on the farm back in the 1940s, my grandfather did some led mining in south western Wisconsin, but the shovel and Gramps are long gone. Phil

  • Minimum it needs a radiator , engine could be sized and freeze damaged , likely a few other items missing as well , Shame to see it just sink and rust away !

  • love it .

  • good luck geting it out its sunk like 2 feet in the mud and the cats are all froze up i bet

  • Holy cow. That looks to be one of the two lorain shovels built under liscence by the Lunenburg foundry. My grandfather hauled both of them new and we owned one of them for a short while. It is semi restored on Display at J.R. Eisners construction (ECL) in Fall River . The One at ECL had also been repowered by a D315 cat.

  • think wit halittle tune up itll run? and what was it working on? because I see nothing but trees! very nice machine though!

  • whos property is it on

its a beautiful machine i cant see y some 1 would leave it their and let it rust i would take it if i had some money

  • What a shame, and it's not even that big.

  • Where did you find this thing at,I might know somebody who would be interested in rescuing it

  • Hey Chuck...it's here in Pictou County. It sure would be nice to see someone rescue it. I'm surprised the Museum of Industry never hauled it out. Let me know if you want to see and I'll take you in to it sometime.
