Vanderberg was a good player, butAldrich smokes them all. Doug is truly one of th emost UNDERRATED guitarists out there!

Vai can out play Aldrich but Aldrich is perfect for W'snake and Vai was not. Coverdale has said it. Steve himself has acknowledged it (Vai was also just as wrong for Ozzy which is why the album they did together was never released). FWIW, W'snake was at their commercial peak BEFORE Vai joined the band so Steve clearly didn't make them 'twice as famous.' Try not to let FACTS get in the way of your personal opinion.
