  • I always wondered why my 98 legacy outback had water tight seals on the doors...

    now I know

  • GO SUBARU!!

  • yeah man. i have a 99 outback. i push that car to the limit and its been real good to me. deep water, snow, mud, steep hills. she's gotten me through every time.

    go subi!!!

  • Awesome. People sometimes really do underestimate the capability of these cars.

  • You're lucky you didn't flood your cylinders, like me :(. I didn't realize how deep the puddle was and took it too fast.

Check my videos so you know what's too deep, because I'm looking at about $3,500 for a new engine (labor included).

  • Yeah, I'm kind of a knucklehead. The Subaru manual says not to go into water deeper than the chassis.... well I about doubled that (or more). I don't think I'd do water this deep again, but I want to go play some more REAL BAD! It's winter now..... bring on the snow!

  • If you use a snorkle you wouldn't have an issue.. you'll just need to change your diff oil, casue water will seep through the seals and turn your gear oil into gray crap.

Way to go on the video!

  • Might as well save up for a wrx swap!

  • @dgsblb Reroute your intake with a $5 vacuum hose and you wouldn't have that problem. lol

  • Nice man ;-)

  • ROCK ON SUBARU!!

i'm glad to see someone else loves their outback as much as i love mine! =)

  • Crazy! Did any water get in through the doors? Are they sealed or something? Ive never seen a water crossing like this with a wagon before!

  • Thankfully, no water got in! The only casualty was my drivers side foglight filled with water and died, but that's a small price to pay for getting this recorded.

  • go the subis ;)

  • Great video. I havent tried crossings that deep in my (i say my, but its a long story), Volvo V70XC.

Those Subarus are brilliant. Gotta love the Outbacks :P

  • those things are beasts!

  • hahaha I was in that car...

    c(=

  • I can verify that!

  • Water that high would get in my exhaust and intake (hence keeping it shallow and fast with my car). I definitely can't go there.

  • @renichms If your car is running, it will not effect your exhaust. But yes, your intake will get fucked, unless you reroute your intake.

  • Sweet vid! I think you got me beat with depth and music. I'm going back to the Sandy soon, I'll have to try it again.

  • WOOT!

It is a Subaru thing, You Jeep guys just wont understand!

    Haha

    ~Rock on,

    Doug
