The one called Insect Armeggedon seems to be a side story because the second console game is titled EDF 4. Just when I thought this series was dead we end up deluged by sequels. I'm not complaining.

you are a retard. 53 is probably the best mission. and what are you talking about, an extra digit? finally, the game may not have the best graphics or animation, but it has it where it counts: a seemingly endless arsenal of weapons, aliens, robots, and a crapload of awesome explosions. and, if you play the game with imagination and are emotionally linked to it, you feel like you're really Storm 1, fighting off the alien menace and defending your planet and it's future.

i said seemingly endless arsenal. the made up names are pretty cool though. imagine having a Magma Cannon. i bet that gun would kick ass in real life. not to mention the Genocide Gun. there isnt SO many bad things about it, only the graphics and animation, and whats the point on focusing on bad things? i reckon the game had the most helpful AI, they actually kill things and try to survive, unlike a lot of other AI's ive ever seen

But i can go on about everything wrong but its plainly obvious it was fun for an hour and for about 2 hours with a friend, im more of a story person for games anyway so maybe thats why i found it pants.

Well, this game deserves more credit than people give it. While it may not be the most story-advanced game I've ever played, it is without out the doubt the most addictive, the most fun, and the most gigantic in scale game I have EVER played. Same goes for it's predecessor, Global Defense Force. I find a lot of people play it for 2 minutes and hate it straight away because they don't give it a chance.

You could always get a Japanese 360 which is region free then problem solved.

It also opens up the door to many other excellent NTSC-J titles like Senko no Ronde XX and Tetris the Grand Master Ace.

Looks like a spiritual successor to the 2-d shooters of old.  And the first game on the 360 that looks like it's truly different and worth playing to me. Sad that the American developers have dropped the ball on the whole "fighting giant alien invaders in a huge destructible environment" genre. We just get "Football Update Last Year+1" and "Thugs in Cars Bangin' Stuff." yet again.
