If he plays the whole season next year though you better believe he's going to burst onto the national scene as a RS freshman. Woods is going to draw a lot of double teams and Prater is going to be in one on one situations where he's virtually uncoverable. Not just because of his size, but he has tremendous hands and ridiculous concentration, he'll catch any in a 10ft radius and he's deceptively fast.

Proviso West didn't play Hinsdale South last year and beat them in 2008 7-3. Whether or not you had heard of him doesn't mean much, nearly ever college coach in the country was aware of Kyle Prater. How many kids from Hinsdale South had scholarship offers from USC, Florida, Alabama, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, etc.? None. Kyle is obviously a legit threat, he's dominated some of the nation's best dbs on the combine and all star game circuits and racked up 40+ FBS offers last year.

Mike Garrett wanted Norm Chow but Lane never did. They don't have a great relationship. Lane made the call to Chow on the behalf of Garrett to fullfill his request to contact Chow. Lane never got along with Chow. There was a blow up between the two when Chow was leaving for the Titans and Lane cleaned out Chow's office prior to his departure. They hate each other. Chow and Lane never really wanted to be near each other no matter how much money. Garrett did. End of story.

As far as Chow, he hasn't succeed because he hasn't been in a position to in 5 years, since he left USC. He inherited a 5-11 Titans team in 2005 and had to deal with a headcase as a starting QB for the two following years. Then there's that D-II program UCLA that hasn't brought in a blue chip recruit in decades...

The odds are great, if he has the career in college he's capable of. I don't care how slow he is... Rivals has him at 4.5 which isn't bad for being almost 6'6''. With his size and hands like that and Matt Barkley throwing to him he could have a remarkable career at USC. All Barkley has to do is throw it up and this kid will come down with it, it doesn't hurt that Barkley has one of the stronger arms in the college football.

It's just that when 6'5 people run they look slow, even if they are 4.3, but at usc, Mike Williams and Dwayne Jerret were they the same player as him.
Both 4.59, 4.6 players...both 6'5, they had a lot of sucess in college and minimal sucess in the nfl...because they could not seperate at the line of scrimmage.
He ran a 4.69 and 4.71 but your point is correct, its all about game speed. I will say don't put your money into these high school 40 yard dashes because they are as inaccurate as you can be.

Kyle Prater and Robert Woods both the top 2 WRs in the 2010 class and George Farmer is an SC lean then mix that in with De'von Flournoy who's already been impressive as a true freshman in practice. Forget RB U or QB U or O-line U, USC is set to be the next WR U. The level of talent that will line up outside these next 2 years is going to be insane. The RB situation of '06-'09 just moved to WR for '10-'12.

The odds are great, if he has the career in college he's capable of. Last time I checked Percy Harvin got drafted in the 1st round this year, despite the laundry list of Florida receivers that haven't transitioned well into the NFL. Prater is not the same player, Williams or Jarrett was, and as soon as he steps foot on campus will be twice a good as Turner.

For starters Chow is only 63, which relative to the college football coaching world isn't quite as old are your hyperbolical comments seem to suggest. Chow is only 5 years older than Mack Brown, Nick Saban, and Pete Carroll who are all 58. Regardless, with the amount of money and the contract Chow is about to land he'll be at SC for at least another 5 years so, which is long enough for a kid like Prater who's likely to be off to the NFL after his junior season.

I don't care how slow he is... Rivals has him at 4.5 which isn't bad for being almost 6'6''. With his size and hands like that and Matt Barkley throwing to him he could have a remarkable career at USC. All Barkley has to do is throw it up and this kid will come down with it, it doesn't hurt that Barkley has one of the stronger arms in the college football.
I'm telling you watch out Prater + Barkley in 2 or 3 years is going to be a ridiculous combination.

Check out Matt Miltons Highlights on youtube. He is also from Illinois, just as tall, faster, stronger, and can break tackles. Prater is very good, but not the best receiver in the state , more less the country!

He reminds me of Dwayne Jarrett. I think he'll fit in real well at USC. Also, he's not very quick, but he has deceptive straight-line speed and a nice frame.

Also, he does play in one of the best divisions in Illinois, and plays some of the toughest teams. So in aspects to that, he is a great player.

I don't think this guy will last at USC. He's too slow. He makes nice grabs, but so do other good receivers in high school.
Just how strong is this kid? If he's 6'5, he better be strong and hard to take down.
If he's not fast, or at least hard to take down, he will not last at USC.

It's just that when 6'5 people run they look slow, even if they are 4.3, but at usc, Mike Williams and Dwayne Jerret were they the same player as him.
Both 4.59, 4.6 players...both 6'5, they had a lot of sucess in college and minimal sucess in the nfl...because they could not seperate at the line of scrimmage.

Reminds me of a slow Randy Moss. I say that by the way he catches the ball. He really needs to work on his speed. These are high school kids, at USC its going to get tougher. Really good hands, but don't want to be a Keyshawn Johnson so the speed needs to improve. Tight Ends are running 4.6's and thats what it will be because of pads. When you run the 40 you have no pads. I ran a 4.5 but I'm 5'10" he's 6'5". Work on speed and this kid could be great. Should of chose a real university, the U.

A lot of impressive catches... but in college he will go DB's who are faster and just as athletic.. He is just using his size now and he will not always as big of a advantage in college. He doesn't seem to fast either (4.56 40 time according to Rivals).

the kids runs a 4.73, i know this because i was at illinois this past summer when he ran it, many people including tom lemming disagree with rivals ranking him as high as 2nd overall player in the nation. IMO Robert woods is a more expolisve player, but thats just me, good highschool player, but whats he goin to do when he goes up agianst kids twice as fast as him? athletes that can jump, ron be realistic, you sound like the michigan fans whon think will win the championmship next year

Kyle Prater and Robert Woods both the top 2 WRs in the 2010 class and George Farmer is an SC lean then mix that in with De'von Flournoy who's already been impressive as a true freshman in practice. Forget RB U or QB U or O-line U, USC is set to be the next WR U. The level of talent that will line up outside these next 2 years is going to be insane. The RB situation of '06-'09 just moved to WR for '10-'12.

Yeah. Looks like USC, followed by Illinois and Oklahoma. ND is 4th. i hope he goes to ND cuz who will he have throwing to him at Illinois? Juice is gone. Oklahoma? Bradford's gone after this year. laso, at USC he'll have Williams, Johnson, Patterson and 5*WR Woods who committed yesterday ahead of him.
