Unless this oil is nationalized it will do nothing to help with the USA's energy independence. The oil will go into the global market and be sold to the highest bidder. Meanwhile risking an environmental disaster along the entire path of the pipeline. While his investments might be legal under current law they show a dire need for reform and at minimum a gross ethics violation. Boehner is speaking on behalf of oil companies and himself, not on behalf of his constituents.
