I don't know if I really like the drums... Part of the charm of the piece to me is the complete lack of structure, which the drums kind of work against.

The piece is actually highly structured: there are 53 written phrases, or modules, that the performers must move through successively. While it is up to the individual player to choose how long to play each module, the harmonic and rhythmic worlds and motions are composed.

Too, the instructions, written by Riley, state that "improvised percussion is allowed as long as it is in strict time."

Structuring in openess! How egalitarian! Riley for president!

@NativeMetalVT theirs more then one structure in music the main one used for metal is orignated from a standard blues structure and has been devolped but for this piece the structure have originated from a brain cotted in LSD floating around the universe saving puppies from giant muttant space monsters and for the drumming its just a loop stuck on top
