I love the ignorance of people - thinking that any person has the power to "change" another. People don't change unless they are open to the change or in other words, unless they WANT to change.
Ms. Ono has displayed more character in the face of derogation from small-minded people than any of her detractors could ever hope to achieve. And the man behind the music, loved her with all of his heart.
Isn't so shocking that he was assassinated a few years later after this. He was our jesus and we just killed him. It is so said that my mom was young when he was around and I never got to experience the second coming.
Lol at all the butthurt americans over a simple but truthful joke.....btw I live in UK......for americans its a small island off the west coast of europe ;) Anyway I never knew john did this in Canada , I thought it was in Europe.
I like the Bed in film I saw where a journalist has a go at Yoko for changing john and agree to some extent.....she aint one of my fave people .
@bjktorja: I'm sorry but you are sadly wrong. That Man who killed John was misguided and a confused soul just like the rest of us in a way. That man thought John was the problem but, i remember him saying in an old video of his sentince'
"I was mistaken about john he thought like everyone-else he was a Dreamer."
i don't know if yoko drew this out of john, or if he was just looking for any excuse to cut loose...but he certainly went off his rocker, not in a negative way, but in a brave and groundbreaking way
I'm insulted because your comment was rude, uncanadian, and because my mother is a dual citizen, Canadian-American. She is the kindest woman anyone could ever know.
Good for you. I have to mention this because Americans - especially on YouTube - are the most ignorant bunch of the lot and they often can't even find their own city on a map. It's a well-known fact.
I agree with you, but the polite thing to do would be to omit "Americans" and just write "Note: Montréal is a city in Québec Province, Canada". For many people, the "For Americans" is "sous-entendu" ;)
@baracine , I'm an American, I'm on Youtube, and I know perfectly well where Montreal is. I've been to Montreal, and I knew where it was long before I ever went there, since I was a child. Your generalizations do not reflect well upon you.
I visited the exhibit in Montreal. It's very interesting. John and Yoko are very unique characters. I don't agree with most of their philosophy but the exhibit is very enlightening about a different time in history that seems to be repeating itself 40 years later. What I don't agree with is the idea that there is nothing that's worth fighting for or defending, just surrender to keep the "peace."
The point is that so many people have been sent to die for ideas that are proved now to be mistaken. They proposed a different kind of revolution: the power of You and Me ACTING, DOING without Killing or Diying... It's not the government or any other kind of authority who will tell us what to do. Yes, John was a dreamer. But probably he was right about the power of individuals, as he was killed for thinking and exhorting people to act that way.
C'est une fierté d'avoir recu John a Montreal :)

Just enjoy the music and the message.

"Note to Americans: Montreal is a big city in Quebec province, Canada."
How insulting.

Why should you be insulted? You're Canadian.

True. But I think that would be even more offensive.

Well if there is no fighting, there'd be no need to surrender.
