Mine rings like hell and has some weird over tones. I keep trying to tune them out but I want a sound more like that. Sounds like he just tunes it low as balls but I don't know.

@frogbeergolfgolf Sounds like a bass drum, with no resonance, almost no tone... It's probably tuned like a normal floor tom of that size except the resonant head must be heavy and/or muffled. Since I've started studying this guy I've been thinking of doing the same with one of my floors, I really dig that sound. I have one on my left, thinking of using this one so it'll be easier to hit the ghost notes on it.

Okay someone please explain to me why Terry instinctively counted 5 notes per beat instead of 4? What rhythmic information did mats two note pattern give off to make Terry decide to count to 5? Someone please help me here or I'll lose a lot of sleep over this.

@DangerGeeks Its a basic polyrythym. He stacked groups of notes in 10/16 against Matts pulse in 2/4.

@DangerGeeks Because the 16th note rythem that matt came up with could be seen as the 1st and 3rd note in a set of 5. ONE two THREE four five ONE two THREE four five.
