This is the most perfect laptop to ever exist. The battery life is amazing, hard drive is average, screen is great, and lightweight.

the outside panel seem really durable against marks, the battery weight, the material choice like the keyboard finishing...

The screen seems also great....

I don't like the 'transport cover' and the 'reader device' but...

Decided to buy solely on your review and I love it. In Canada, only TigerDirect carry it and there are no storefronts, and the only way to return it was with a 15% restocking fee, and it's expensive. And still ..

* Keyboard is fine (better key placement than most)

* Glossiness - I love the dipped black chrome look

Reflection not an issue: some would complain you can't shave when it's ON! ;-)

ARRRGGGHHH MY EYES!!! i went to a local retail store to play with it. played with a bunch of notebooks, netbooks, subnotebooks, subnetbooks, and then...i saw this glossy reflective keyboard. looking down on it i had to constantly move to avoid glare from the light above. who made that glossy pos??? would it kill lenovo to make the usual matte keys. it's the only one i know with such glossy keys. maybe it was designed by a woman for women...or for richard simmons. :))

Yes. They are surprisingly solid. A lot more solid than the bigger computers and I have had no problems with mine at all, and I carry my laptop everywhere and use it constantly.

when you run applications that have already been opened the computer doesn't access the hard drive at all, its using cached memory, which is why its opening the browser and Word so fast. Open those off of a fresh boot and it will take longer.

A different review claimed the screen on this computer was grainy. Have you seen this at all? Otherwise I love the machine.

From Lenovo's website. I just purchased a Lenovo Y510 which is also part of the ideapad line. I love it.  It has the strength, and reliability of Lenovo's thinkpad line, with unique styling.
