Celestine and Ali Chukwuma are both from Aboh in Ndokwa east Delta state. That shows the unity of all Igbos through music at that time. May they live forever.
Celestine Ukwu is from Abor in Enugu state. Actually its like the Aboh people of Ndokwa east Delta state could have originated from Aboh in Enugu state.I am not sure per se.But Celestine was from Enugu state. Abor in Enugu state is part of the Ojebe Ogene clan of Igbo land made up of over 13 towns like Okpatu, Ebe, Ukana, Ukeghe, Umulumgbe, etc to mention a few.
@Thirdexodus, If you listen carefully to USONDU, by Celestine, you will hear him say "ka anyi welu nu ofu obi nebi na Ndokwa" A plea to his Ndokwa people and by extention Igbos at large, to live as one. And as for the migration I believe its the other way round i.e west to east.
Let all Igbos do away with discrimination which has caused us alot, and learn to love and respect each other no matter what part the person hails from, in the present scheme of things we need each other.
I believe strongly in Igbo unity. I only made a contribution anyway because I knew of him.Igbos need urgent unity in all fronts.Igbos in diasporas need to be united too. I love to meet our people from the ANIOMA areas.
@amatyable Ndo, Enugu bu nnukwu obodo. One I goro ala nwere ike ibu onye obula. Onwere ike buru onye Enugu, ma obu onye Igbo ozo, ma onwe na abughi onye Igbo. Onkwu abughi okwu utube ma ncha.
I grew up with this melody playing at the background. Almost two score years have rolled by and you can still feel the pulse of the melody ..........better still all you hear is artistry and skill, no synthesizers or enhansers. My 3yr daughter is nodding to the music...Celestine lives on ....
God bless you Celestine may your souls rest in peace.U are such wonderful singer that generations yet unborn WILL STILL ENJOY AND PRAISE UR SONGS.TRULY ONE OF THE GREATEST SONG WRITERS AND SINGERS FROM AFRICA.Extremly MEANINGFUL SONGS SHALOM!
Celestine Ukwu remains one of the Igbo musical legends. He is an icon. We the Igbos of this present generation remain ever grateful for the creativity of such Igbo musical legends as Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe, Celestine Ukwu, Sir Warrior, Chief Oliver the Coque, Nelly Uchendu, Christiana Eze, Mike Ejeagha, Onyeka Onwenu, Morocco Nwamaduka, Ali Chukwuma, Muddy Ibe, Ozoemena Nwansugbe, etc., who sang in Igbo language. This has given immense life and happiness to generations of Igbos.
I know where i place you, Ali Chukwuma, Cpt. Muddy Ibe, Nze Oliver Akanite(Oliver de Coque) Cheif Stephen Louis Osita Osadebe and Nelly Uchendu May God grany all eternal peace
