  • WOW does this bring back memories I've been looking for this for years. I remember watching this on WBZ TV 4 in Boston it came on Saturdays at noon after the cartoon were over. I don't I ever missed it. It's too bad you don't have any full episodes available on you tube though.

  • @mainmedic I have one full episode on DVD. I posted it on YT long ago but they made me take it down.

  • Awesome! I loved that show. Thanks for posting.

  • This gave a nice childhood experience.

  • best theme ever i still whistle it to this day ..bring back marlo!!!!

  • Isn't there any way to have the whole shows put on here? I used to watch this show when I was growing up, and I loved it. Now I am 44 and seeing it made me long for those days.

  • @RonaldEmmis I think I had the whole episode on another channel and they shut that down. Afraid I can't risk that again. However, if you'd like a DVD, PM me.

  • Wow! I vaguely remember this! As a kid my preference were animations, but I also liked to watch live action shows as a plan B if nothing else was available. For example: Gigglesnort Hotel, Shields and Yarnell, Villa Alegre, Carrascolendas, Hot Fudge etc...

  • WOW>>>>I used to love this show…Sat or Sundays in Northern New Jersey…They used to put great vids together with great topics…there was also an extremely funny guy who used to do voice overs on clips and he ended up with Dave Letterman when Dave had a day show…I was a kid and loved this show…thanks for the post…great memories… I also like especially the corny song….

  • Yep, remember this very well. I used to watch it on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. on WCBS in New York, Channel 2. I always wondered then, and still do, how a man's first name could be "Laurie" and also have a feminine character name in "Marlo".

  • I swear Pele showed up one time.

  • WOW now this is when tv was worth watching as a child

  • Thank You!

  • I came across it on (fan-made) DVD a few years ago and had to have it. Worth every penny.

  • Wow-where did you dig this up? The last time I saw that opening sequence was 32 years ago. Thanks for posting - it sparked some great memories.

  • Wow I remember watching this show. Good times good times

  • I remember talking to my cousins or my friends on the phone and punching "0000" on the touch-tone keypad to pretend I was bringing up a knock-knock joke. The whole idea of keying in codes and the keys sounding like touch-tones FASCINATED me. I even taped colored pieces of paper to a box to make my own replica of the machine's control panels, and I'd punch in the codes along with Marlo. I was only 6 or 7 years old; I knew I wanted to be a computer programmer back then, and I really became that.

  • they don't make shows like this for kids anymore... ahhh the good ol' days!

  • Nobody I know remembers this show! I remember it well though! Great stuff!!

  • Wow, what a trip back in time! I remember watching this on sunday mornings, I believe it was on Channel 2 (WCBS) in New York.

  • @JeffOrnstein01 Glad you enjoyed it. This was a blast for me too :-).

  • @WonkaVator72 can you post more of it

  • @JeffOrnstein01 DITTO! SAME ON WBBM(CH.2) IN CHICAGO!

  • @JeffOrnstein01 Yes that is right

  • Never forgot this theme song. It has haunted me for years.

  • Dam now I see where Mario brothers came from

  • OMG where did you find this? I hadn't seen this in many many many many years. I forgot about its existence.

  • Found this clip by accident and had forgotten all about this show. "Hi, machine".

  • I remember hating that suicide inducing song that I still cannot get out of my head.

  • That is friggin John Stossel.

  • Agreed. Absolutely looooved this show! I still find myself singing that theme song. Thanks so much!

  • TOO FUNNY!! It's like life imitating Art!! XXOO Marlo

  • Yes, thank you for posting this! I have asked many people my age if they remember this show and the answer, sadly, is always "no". Now I have PROOF that I can show them that proves I'm not crazy! ;-)

  • I remember in the late 70's this was on early Sunday mornings 7am or so - it was what you watched because it was the only option pretty much!

  • Damn, I haven't thought about this show in decades. I remember loving it, though. Thanks for posting this.

Things just seemed so much simpler back then...

  • The opening theme sounds very much like something that Score Productions would have composed for G-T game shows of the era.

  • For good reason...Score Productions did do the main theme.

  • Yeah, my dad actually liked this show, so it was on the "approved" list of Saturday shows...

  • I used to watch this in the late 80s. I'm feeling nostalgic about those great times.

  • @TheEightiesRule

Late 80's???? It think WCBS TV stopped airing this show...

  • It was still shown in the Philippines in the 80s.

  • and the tv station would only have something like 5 episodes and repeat them over and over again lol

  • Oh man, this show was my absolute favorite thing in the world when I was a kid! I mean it,

Last year, there was an entire episode posted. Does anyone know what happened to it? I don't think it's for sale anywhere, so I'm actually really upset that it got pulled down. I really should have saved it when I could have. I'd love to get my hands on it.

  • yup thanks for posting this classic show..

  • This show was a big favorite!

  • WOW! Thanks for posting!

  • I seem to remember an episode playing the Birthday Game with my birthday, Dec. 12, which I may have written a letter to request. This show paved the way for my love of computers.

  • I remember thinking he looked like Mr. Kotter

  • WOW! What a memory!

Does anyone have an episode or two posted?

  • The magic movie machine is the father of YouTube! 30 years later we are all Marlo. Just sitting at our screens watching videos of everything that was ever recorded. I loved this show back in the day.

  • But the cool thing about YouTube is that you don't have to know all those codes for the movies. Now, to find the film you want, you just search it and click on it.

  • @dwimmerlaik Well said!

  • @peesyweesy Thanks!

  • I could have cured cancer with the time wasted watching this atrocious thing. Thanks for (unearthing) the (deeply suppressed) memories!

  • I never missed this show when I was a kid. Thanks very much for posting it. It certainly brings back a lot of memories.

  • I loved this show as a kid ... in NY I remember it airing on Sunday morning on WCBS. My brother and I even once saw him filming a segment on 63rd street near Lincoln Center around 1978/1979 ... I wished I had taken the opportunity to shake his hand.

  • I used to watch this when I was really young. I used to get him confused with Gallagher because of the mustache, LOL.

  • Holy shit, I used to watch this show all the time. I didn't think anyone remembered it. It's been almost 30 years since I've even seen it.

  • Wow! thanks for posting this. i really liked this show.

  • WOW! Is that the grungy New york I remeber aas a kid, peep shows and all??!!

  • it was the "stache" I think, that made me despise him- Like issac from The Love Boat... Did he Issac have one too, or did he scheeve me out for another reasi\on??

  • That was the days of "PET" computers that ran on punch cards = LOL !

  • i watched this all the time when I was little!!! thank you for posting. anymore?

  • i did too, LOL.. only b/c my dad thought this show was the shit... 4 years old and I *think* he was inhaling more than me.. I HATED Marlo... OMG, LOL.. Came on after The Banna Splitz and before Fat Albert, HA HA HA

  • There was an entire episode here in three segments a year or two ago. It seems to be gone now. :(

  • @RoyKnable I remember watching that when it was up here. I think it was a compilation DVD. When I was 6 or 7 watching the show, the computer aspect of it fascinated me, but only now do I appreciate the educational value of the material in the films. They had stuff on Pres. Eisenhower, a picture of the world at the beginning of the 20th century, and Marlo discovered what life was like on board a submarine. I just wish I could see a knock-knock joke or riddle, as that used to be my favorite part.
