'...his electrifying concert special captures Elvis during the period of his greatest success'....I think not. How anyone can listen to this and (or watch it for that matter) and think this tops Elvis pre-Army and a year after he got out...well it's beyond me.This is his Vegas show.That's all. Only he kept the routine blah blah to an absolute minimum because of time constraints.And that setlist...what's wrong with Marie's the Name, Reconsider Baby, Angel, Crawfish...just awful.

I agree, I think this concert is definitely better than the one that was televised. That version seemed a little too rehearsed .

@trebasss That concert was two days after the 1st concert on 12 January and 2 concert on January 14 1973

He actually had 2 identical suits & wore the 2nd for the actual telecast.

@trebasss It could have, but remember that this was two nights prior to the concert. So they could have washed it between the 2 concerts. After all do you think Elvis Presley would have wanted to go on live TV wearing something that was not clean? This wasn't like the comeback special that was done a few years before, where Elvis Presley performed for two 2 crowds that was 2 hours apart, and he only had an hour to show up and get ready for the next show.

the rehearsal concert is actually BETTER than the show he did the next night!!!!!!

@facistleader I agree - he was less edgy and nervous.they probably should have told him that the live braodcast was postponed and that he could use the opportunity to rehearse some more.
